I surprised. Machina Maw shows up and no one says anything.... I uderstand FFx-2 wasn't the best selling ff game but come on! Its machina maw! the auto abilites on it alone are enough to kill the entire DOA crew! And it transformed!
@FFX2KH2Master actually, if you listen closely around it's appearance, you'll hear one or two vague 'Machina' from people... so they did recognize it somewhat :)
Its always awesome to hear fans' responses when a certain character comes into the video. That "pop" for Vincent was awesome. I had a smile on my face when I heard the cheers
eh... although ryu is good he's no god o.O same goes for vincent overall must say this teaser quenched my thirst for more dead fantasy. Also I don't dislike D.O.A but just come on Ryu a demigod since when? Ryu's powers manifest o.O? Even after beating Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 o.O still think after Ryu getting wounded by the last boss is what triggered his current stage for the new one rather Ninja Gaiden 3 or Sigma 3 proves it right is yet to be discovered.
Can't wait for the next fight. Hope there aren't too many more characters waiting to be introduced, though. I'm having a hard enough time keeping up with the current line-up as it is. x')

@SeraphimJester: yes I agree. The style was not very good choreography. The only thing that was good was that high kick. That's why I was a lil skeptical about picking the fan but I did it anyway. Yes I agree 2 is better than one.
@psylocke77 I hope there is :). My character is half-chinese and japanese. Her name is Hoshiko. They asked some random questions though, like "what do you think of the director of SC5?". I found that slightly odd.

@psylocke77 Lol. :) . To be honest I never really cared for June. Her fighting style was quintessentially Mishima style; I hate that. It's boring to me. Another thing is that Jun never really showed much of her personality. Now Lili on the other hand after just two games became exceedingly popular. She has more depth that Jun could ever have.
@SeraphimJester: I agree, i got to see jun personality in the cartoon movie but that's it. I did love her moves which is why i like asuka. It's better on her though. I nvr used jun though. she was boring to me as well. I remember when I was fighting against my stepdad a long long lng time ago; he was lei and I was nina. Somehow,he well he new a secret and tried to put his handcuffs on me. I was flabbergasted, but I managed to break out before he could get them on. That was in tekken 3. i was 7.
@psylocke77 Agreed. It doesn't make sense that Ivy gets a revamp in appearance because of her age, and Taki doesn't. Both women are as iconic, and voloptuous as each other. :). I think namco are taking a very big risk with most of the SC5 being new characters as old favourite are likely not to return. Kilik and Xianghua are bound not to return because of what happened in their SC4 endings so that's already two fighters ruled out.
@SeraphimJester: I'm also not pleased that yet again, they're missing an african american girl. i rather see an african american girl than an AA male. dammit, I'm going to write a letter. If they haven't made on because of the hair, i could help them. Or they could look on youtube for long natural hair. Our hair can vary from straight, to wavy to kinky.

@SeraphimJester: Yes I hate to admit it but her ninpo beat taki's though we only saw taki's in trailers. i actually like her outfit. I think it's better than a body suit though I do feel they could have done something more creative with her hair. A side ponytail is more of a modern look. If it was going to look like that, it should have been flared out in my opinion. Pyrrhea looks like cassi who isn't very pretty in my opinion. Thats wack cuz ivy stays young do to her stupid sword.
Wow.. Recentl found out that Vincent cant go into chaos unless he's near Omega. Anyone can go into chaos if their around it its not even one of vincents skills. And Ryu killed a DEMONIC GOD!Aside from him movig faster and stronger, nothin much changes, its not like his bullets move faster...
@CrazyKaneFighter Killing a "demonic god" is only impressive in the universe in which it takes place. "God" is not a universally equal title across mediums. For example: Dr. Manhattan isn't called a god, yet he shows more godlike (That is to say all-knowing, all-powerful) traits than basically any god from God of War, which is centered almost entirely around Greek gods.
Also, you clearly don't know much about FFVII. Chaos is unique to Vincent, and Omega isn't required. At all.
@VenathTehN3RDif vincent does manages to use chaos, he may lose control. The devs didnt know how to implement this into dige of cerberus so they took it away until the last level where he has control of it. It says it makes him 5x stronger than normal and i was right in it being not a skill but him being possessed, as long as he had promateria, he can maintain control.
@CrazyKaneFighter It says nothing about making him "5x stronger" (Unless we're talking gameplay mechanics, in which case it can't be taken literally as "He's 5x stronger in the story"). It is still a skill. It may cause him to lose control, but it's still very much an inducible ability unique to that character. Not to mention that he HAS the Protomateria pretty much all the time. He only lost it for a few days (Maybe less) after Rosso ripped it out of his body, and then it was returned.
@CrazyKaneFighter not true..even in ff 7 the main game he had control of Chaos,if you got any of his flash backs then watched the exact same scenes in DOC,they are the same..even in ff 7 he had the proto put into him by lucrecia..the whole losing control thing in DOC of Chaos was just based on story line and timing e.g *gaining control of Chaos right before last boss fight* this is nothing more then story based things and yes Chaos is not a skill but a demonic God living inside Vincent :)
@SeraphimJester I wouldn't say that. Dead or Alive fighters are better Martial artists compared to most characters in the Final fantasy series. But that doesn't make them stronger. Even excluding all of the extras (magic, any type of physical enhancement). Both series have their strong fighters and lesser fighters. Its all about who's matched up against each other. For example if it was Squal vs. Ryu, Ryu would probably win seeing as he's faster and more precise with his weapon.
@SeraphimJester However if it was Zidane vs Ryu Zidane would have the upper hand seeing as He could easily swipe the dragon sword off of Ryu plus he is extremely acrobatic and super fast. Even Vincent on his own without magic, guns, or Chaos is hard to defeat as he has naturally super strength, agility, and flight abilities. It all depends on the character. Not the series.

@psylocke77: i found her, she looks okay but I'm super impressed with her ninpo. We nvr got to see Taki's pwerful ninpo like that. Even she has better moves than taki, i'm going to be livid. I might like her more lol. Nah probably not. i feel taki is iconic and paved a way for the female fiction ninjas.
@psylocke77 In my opinion, Natsu's semblance looks far too generic for a kunoichi. Her outfit doesn't look far off from Taki's. They could have done something innovative with her design such as incorporating Geisha themes. On a side note, her ninpo looks much better. I was gobsmacked by that move she did. Futhermore, I doubt Taki will have a substantial role. The game takes place 17 years after SC4 therefore the veterans are older, so they are trying to establish a new roster.
@SeraphimJester: Oh hell no, she's going to be her replacement! damn. the creator is ageist. He never lets a girl over 29 stay. Ugghh. As much as i love ninjas, she might take me awhile to get used to. I dnt even think she is as pretty as taki. i like her clothes and ninpo though. I hate that taki wont be in it.
@RaidenRedux Well that does not equate to the substantial amount of "borrowing" Final Fantasy has done. This is not even Namine fighting since she does not fight like this at all. In addition Tifa stole numerous fighting styles in DF2 that have never been exemplified canonically in any of the FF games she has featured in. And let's not forget how Machina Maw miraculously transforms into a gargantuan humanoid robot whom has not made any appearances in the FF series.
@SeraphimJester well, you kinda have to understand that ff, for the most part is turned based, and doesnt really show how a lot of the characters would fight in a live action scenario. yuna and rikku literally only have like a handful of moves shown in their games. i know that its not fair, but its the only way it can work.
but i agree that its kinda bs with namine, it looks cool, but there is another ff character that can kinda do the same exact thing canonicly

when I see khiari in that namine form all I see is nu, mu, and lamda from Blazblue he clearly was inspired xD... he choose a good game to get inspirations from.
@psylocke77 It's so strange that we share everything in common but are divided when it comes to Kasumi and Ayane. :). I love both however I adore Ayane. :o Taki DESTROYS. She would be an amazing asset to DF.
@SeraphimJester: Oh I know right. I guess it's just who we feel more of a connection too. I felt for ayane's pain but, she's was just to mean and sour for me. I feel she should be angered with her mother not kasumi.Though I love her moves. I find that her move sets are better than Kasumi's. I think kasumi's moves are too plain for a ninja. I guess they want to portray her restraints.
@psylocke77 I really want to see Kasumi again. She's so versatile. She utilises all sorts of magic. What's new is that in DOAD Kasumi Alpha uses the doa counterpart to Naruto's genjutsu where she traps Ayane in an illusion. Presumably Kasumi has that ability since the clone has it.
@SeraphimJester: ooh yeh, I forgot about that. Yes kasumi is just such a great kunioichi, I'm crazy for her. I'm glad they finally started showing their ninja side and capabilities. Ninjas really aren't average humans. I wish Taki from Soul calibur was here. She would destroy all. She's a female version of Ryu lol only better haha.
@psylocke77 Agreed with number 1. I would say that DF 1, and 2 are the best, and the most dynamic. 4 was my least favourite since Kasumi, and Yuna never physically engaged in battle sufficiently.

Ryu has taken down incredibly powerful demons.But Vincent has a demon inside himself. Plus with all of the added abilities Vincent already possessesincluding his chaos form Ryu would be in quite abitoftrouble. Ryu is a ninja in top physical condition. Vincent is an immortal with Beyond human physical condition including accelerated healing a vast arsenal of weapons and spells
@MrFutureseer: there's where i have to correct you. Ryu is a demi god. His curse bloodline from dragons. as well as his clan being the great for their own bloodline. He's also able go beyond human physical conditions as seen through dead or alive and his series. I can't say he's immortal but I can say he can regenerate. If he was to die, his sword could always bring him back to life. Ryu is also extremely acrobatic and super fast. He's called Super ninja for a reason dude. That's just my 2 cents
@psylocke77 Not regeneration, regeneration is automatic. Ryu has heaing techiniques because they require energy to use. If a character from FF uses cure, it doesn't give them regeneration. And canon-wise, Ryu was only brought back once from the dead, it could also be a game mechanic. Vincent is truly immortal because he can't die of old age and physical wounds don't kill him. He was also able to regenerate from being blown to bits at the end of Dirge of Ceberus.
@CrazyKaneFighter Wow. I like Final fantasy but im def not a fanboy. I just prefer it over dead and alive and I own about...3 ff games. 7, 9, and 10. Im not defending anything. Im just stating informative facts from both series wich are both very different series in almost every sense. Ninja Gaiden is a fun series though...and Ive only played one dead or alive game and it felt similar to most other side scrolling fighters.
@MrFutureseer Ryu can just absorb the essence in vincents materia, and u say vincent has a demon inside him, but isnt that what ryu's job is? killing demons? and now ryu has a demonic arm that makes him even more powerful.
@malistichild What essence? lol. Materia itself is just concentrated mako energy stored in crystalized form. The energy inside cannot be used or absorbed rather utlizied to evoke special abilities. If he was able to absorb the energy it would poison him seeing as Mako energy is truly just radiation. Chaos (though not truly a demon but a monstrous weapon) is born from the planet and its role is to bring death to all life forms and spread mass destruction in the planets final hour.
@malistichild It is pure destructive power and was powerful enough to destroy the planets utlimate self defense mechanism Omega. Ryu's little dragon sword would not only not be able to kill Vincent but he would destroy him a mile away with his death penalty. Ryu is strong but Vincent is beyondpowerful.
@SeraphimJester: My favorite would definitely have to be 1 and this one. One is where you see most of everyone's abilities and skills. Kasumi also kicks butt in there. Then this one because it's just everywhere, it's thrilling and it's showing mo's struggles and skills.
@psylocke77 I really want DF6 to be released already so that I can see Ayane face against Rikku. But what I hate is that the majority of Rikku's features are going to be fan-made. Three new dresspheres, and one that changes into a humanoid robot going WAY OFF canon.

@tunedude19 KH is different. The games are significantly longer so that does not count. I think I speak for the majority when I say that people are more interested in the main titles as opposed to spin-offs despite DOA's success. Everybody wants tot find out what happens next, and what kind of features TN will encompass in the next DOA.
@SeraphimJester well i would call dimension a main title sort of in the was birth by sleep was anyway they said what was holding it up was that the orginal creator had left 4 years later they get back up on there feat and announce diension to esablish things in the plot before there 5 and announce ninja gaiden 3 now there focus is ninja gaiden 3 oh we also shouldnt forget how temco was hurt during that earthquake
@tunedude19 I seriously doubt that Ninja Gaiden 3 will be anywhere near as good as NG2. Tecmo are trying to make it too realistic, and then the game becomes devoid of fun. When I watched the playthrough, it was exceptional. However, what threw me off is when the creator said that the Katana would be the main focus of the game, and that no other characters would be present.
@tunedude19 I hate to be tenacious, but that is no justification as to why DOA5 has not been produced. If DOAD was in the works, then there should be no reason as to why DOA5 should not be simultaneously produced. And also, five verging on six years is a VERY long time.
@SeraphimJester really cuz that wasnt sexy at all it was scottish looking and not very ninja, her ninja gaiden outfit resembles her original but even sexier and keeps to her iconic color scemem so all people and i mean a mojority of people who dont know her well will still recognize her
@tunedude19 To be honest, I hate the way NG made her costume look. It was 90% sex appeal, and 10% Ninja. Whereas her DOAD costume looked decent enough. However if that is not selected, ten there is a catalogue of outfits from DOAU2 that Monty could choose. I'm glad that he stuck with Ayane's butterfly dress however. They should have made that her default in DOA4.
@tunedude19 I am going to send you something via PM, as I am not able to do it here. Basically, it's a video by @SplitPlaythru featuring all of Kasumi's costumes from Dead Or Alive Ultimate 2 . There is one specific one that I think she should wear in the future DF's/ skip to costume 12. It was also featured in DOA4.
@tunedude19 Good point, but it looks suitable for fighting. It would look ridiculous if Kasumi was fighting in a bikini. This is why I prefer Hitomi's catalogue; because every individual costume is designed for kicking ass :P . My favourite Hitomi costume is her 4th one from Dead Or Alive 3 where she wears a plaid schoolgirl skirt accompanied by a blue and white jacket .
@tunedude19: She could wear that black one or the tank top red outfit. I actually like when her hair is in a ponytail. I feel is very appropriate. When your hair is down, it can be a downfall.

@tunedude19: i probably haven't seen the same view as you. I just saw her back at the end of ng2. Her hair is shorter too. I wonder what type of ninpo techniques will she have. All we see her use is teleport, intangible and torn sky blast.

I have to say, I wish more black people could be portrayed in anime and I'm not talking about dark japanese people. I mean fuller lips, kinky to looser curls to wavy to straight hair. Many shades, dark, semi dark, brown, caramel, yellow bone,red bone. Different shapes, skinny, thick, substantial, average,muscular. So off topic, but I felt the need to rant.

Another thing is that Jun never really showed much of her personality. Now Lili on the other hand after just two games became exceedingly popular. She has more depth that Jun could ever have.

I nvr used jun though. she was boring to me as well. I remember when I was fighting against my stepdad a long long lng time ago; he was lei and I was nina. Somehow,he well he new a secret and tried to put his handcuffs on me. I was flabbergasted, but I managed to break out before he could get them on. That was in tekken 3. i was 7.

@psylocke77 Agreed. It doesn't make sense that Ivy gets a revamp in appearance because of her age, and Taki doesn't. Both women are as iconic, and voloptuous as each other. :). I think namco are taking a very big risk with most of the SC5 being new characters as old favourite are likely not to return. Kilik and Xianghua are bound not to return because of what happened in their SC4 endings so that's already two fighters ruled out.

@SeraphimJester: Yes I hate to admit it but her ninpo beat taki's though we only saw taki's in trailers. i actually like her outfit. I think it's better than a body suit though I do feel they could have done something more creative with her hair. A side ponytail is more of a modern look. If it was going to look like that, it should have been flared out in my opinion. Pyrrhea looks like cassi who isn't very pretty in my opinion. Thats wack cuz ivy stays young do to her stupid sword.

@CrazyKaneFighter Killing a "demonic god" is only impressive in the universe in which it takes place. "God" is not a universally equal title across mediums. For example: Dr. Manhattan isn't called a god, yet he shows more godlike (That is to say all-knowing, all-powerful) traits than basically any god from God of War, which is centered almost entirely around Greek gods.
Also, you clearly don't know much about FFVII. Chaos is unique to Vincent, and Omega isn't required. At all.

The devs didnt know how to implement this into dige of cerberus so they took it away until the last level where he has control of it. It says it makes him 5x stronger than normal and i was right in it being not a skill but him being possessed, as long as he had promateria, he can maintain control.

@CrazyKaneFighter It says nothing about making him "5x stronger" (Unless we're talking gameplay mechanics, in which case it can't be taken literally as "He's 5x stronger in the story"). It is still a skill. It may cause him to lose control, but it's still very much an inducible ability unique to that character. Not to mention that he HAS the Protomateria pretty much all the time. He only lost it for a few days (Maybe less) after Rosso ripped it out of his body, and then it was returned.

@CrazyKaneFighter not true..even in ff 7 the main game he had control of Chaos,if you got any of his flash backs then watched the exact same scenes in DOC,they are the same..even in ff 7 he had the proto put into him by lucrecia..the whole losing control thing in DOC of Chaos was just based on story line and timing e.g *gaining control of Chaos right before last boss fight* this is nothing more then story based things and yes Chaos is not a skill but a demonic God living inside Vincent :)

@SeraphimJester I wouldn't say that. Dead or Alive fighters are better Martial artists compared to most characters in the Final fantasy series. But that doesn't make them stronger. Even excluding all of the extras (magic, any type of physical enhancement). Both series have their strong fighters and lesser fighters. Its all about who's matched up against each other. For example if it was Squal vs. Ryu, Ryu would probably win seeing as he's faster and more precise with his weapon.

Even Vincent on his own without magic, guns, or Chaos is hard to defeat as he has naturally super strength, agility, and flight abilities. It all depends on the character. Not the series.

@psylocke77 In my opinion, Natsu's semblance looks far too generic for a kunoichi. Her outfit doesn't look far off from Taki's. They could have done something innovative with her design such as incorporating Geisha themes. On a side note, her ninpo looks much better. I was gobsmacked by that move she did. Futhermore, I doubt Taki will have a substantial role. The game takes place 17 years after SC4 therefore the veterans are older, so they are trying to establish a new roster.

@RaidenRedux Well that does not equate to the substantial amount of "borrowing" Final Fantasy has done. This is not even Namine fighting since she does not fight like this at all. In addition Tifa stole numerous fighting styles in DF2 that have never been exemplified canonically in any of the FF games she has featured in. And let's not forget how Machina Maw miraculously transforms into a gargantuan humanoid robot whom has not made any appearances in the FF series.

@SeraphimJester well, you kinda have to understand that ff, for the most part is turned based, and doesnt really show how a lot of the characters would fight in a live action scenario. yuna and rikku literally only have like a handful of moves shown in their games. i know that its not fair, but its the only way it can work.

@psylocke77 I really want to see Kasumi again. She's so versatile. She utilises all sorts of magic. What's new is that in DOAD Kasumi Alpha uses the doa counterpart to Naruto's genjutsu where she traps Ayane in an illusion. Presumably Kasumi has that ability since the clone has it.

Ryu has taken down incredibly powerful demons.But Vincent has a demon inside himself. Plus with all of the added abilities Vincent already possessesincluding his chaos form Ryu would be in quite abitoftrouble. Ryu is a ninja in top physical condition. @MrFutureseer: there's where i have to correct you. Ryu is a demi god. His curse bloodline from dragons. as well as his clan being the great for their own bloodline. He's also able go beyond human physical conditions as seen through dead or alive and his series. I can't say he's immortal but I can say he can regenerate. If he was to die, his sword could always bring him back to life. Ryu is also extremely acrobatic and super fast. He's called Super ninja for a reason dude. That's just my 2 cents

@psylocke77 Not regeneration, regeneration is automatic. Ryu has heaing techiniques because they require energy to use. If a character from FF uses cure, it doesn't give them regeneration. And canon-wise, Ryu was only brought back once from the dead, it could also be a game mechanic. Vincent is truly immortal because he can't die of old age and physical wounds don't kill him. He was also able to regenerate from being blown to bits at the end of Dirge of Ceberus.

Im just stating informative facts from both series wich are both very different series in almost every sense. Ninja Gaiden is a fun series though...and Ive only played one dead or alive game and it felt similar to most other side scrolling fighters.

@malistichild What essence? lol. Materia itself is just concentrated mako energy stored in crystalized form. The energy inside cannot be used or absorbed rather utlizied to evoke special abilities. If he was able to absorb the energy it would poison him seeing as Mako energy is truly just radiation. Chaos (though not truly a demon but a monstrous weapon) is born from the planet and its role is to bring death to all life forms and spread mass destruction in the planets final hour.

I think I speak for the majority when I say that people are more interested in the main titles as opposed to spin-offs despite DOA's success. Everybody wants tot find out what happens next, and what kind of features TN will encompass in the next DOA.

@tunedude19 I seriously doubt that Ninja Gaiden 3 will be anywhere near as good as NG2. Tecmo are trying to make it too realistic, and then the game becomes devoid of fun. When I watched the playthrough, it was exceptional. However, what threw me off is when the creator said that the Katana would be the main focus of the game, and that no other characters would be present.

@tunedude19 To be honest, I hate the way NG made her costume look. It was 90% sex appeal, and 10% Ninja. Whereas her DOAD costume looked decent enough. However if that is not selected, ten there is a catalogue of outfits from DOAU2 that Monty could choose. I'm glad that he stuck with Ayane's butterfly dress however. They should have made that her default in DOA4.

This is why I prefer Hitomi's catalogue; because every individual costume is designed for kicking ass :P . My favourite Hitomi costume is her 4th one from Dead Or Alive 3 where she wears a plaid schoolgirl skirt accompanied by a blue and white jacket .

I have to say, I wish more black people could be portrayed in anime and I'm not talking about dark japanese people. I mean fuller lips, kinky to looser curls to wavy to straight hair. Many shades, dark, semi dark, brown, caramel, yellow bone,red bone. Different shapes, skinny, thick, substantial, average,muscular. So off topic, but I felt the need to rant.

@psylocke77 I agree to that. You never see many black people in anime or eastern games. And sometimes when you do it's just a stereotype. So that's unfortunate. But at least when there are good ones, they get noticed. Like, how Sazh in FFXIII is loved even by people who hate FFXIII. And there's more being created as time goes by. Small consolation. But there's that, right?

@Kuruni: im not familiar with tha character. Will definitely look up. i believe this is one of the reasons why i want to be an animator. Not just for my ethnic group but others as well.
