Its not necessary to have high level pokemon to beat gary. I beat him with a kingler lv 50. Kingler is the most underated pokemon, its a tank.

It's entirely possible, and the bragging rights are insane... The only bad part, though, is that when it's all over, you have this huge sense of letdown. An underrated option to use is get a butterfree and destroy people with psybeam. It sucks at first having to level a caterpie and metapod, but once he learns confusion at level 12 its rape from there on out.

Although you have a large gap for ground attacks to exploit/ Charmeleon, pikachu and arbok are all vulnerable to ground attacks, that's half your team. But it's still alright, i like how the team is fairly even in level, not all that overpowered shit with like one lvl 50 and the rest lvl 12

I still have my Pokemon Blue, i have it like 10 years now lol (im 21) and i started off with a squirtle, i think the best to start off with in the game is Bulbasaur, so you can easily beat Brock, Misty and Lt.Surge (i think thats his name lol) because bulbasaur is super effective against rock types and water and electricity is weak against grass pokemon. @vortex000131 Rain Dance only exists since Gold/Silver era. In Red/Blue, you are stuck with that damn 70% accuracy whereas Blizzard for some reason has 90%. Actually I think Thunderbolt is the only usable Electik move in this era. But you only have one TM24 and only Pikachu lears it without TM in Yellow version...
