you're wright, today I laugh about this, too, but in those days I needed everything for such a big trip, 6 weeks crossing the SAHARA desert, for such a big bike it doesn't matter, if you have 10 or 20kg of weight less, but you need the tent, slleeping bag, matress, cooker, technical things, food, maps ... anyway.
