  • the tv-host?! Haha

  • i love the announcers get up as much as this song. god love the 70's............

  • "it's been eight o'clock for years"

Hands up anyone who lives this song every work day of their life.

  • loved this song ... hadn't heard it in years ... still got the vinyl just nothing to spin it on ... thanx for the most awesome post!!!

  • Musical masters

  • How beautiful!

It's great, such a brilliant music can see even in TV show, in England.

And It's so nice Lol creme in serious voice, also.

Best of the Best of the Best!

  • This album cost me quite a bundle to find. Well worth it.

  • Yes, genius ... heroes that changed so much and made us who we are ... thanks for posting

  • Wow i have not heard this track since forever!! As well as G&C being innovative musically but beautifully melodic as well! thanks for posting :)

  • This is SUCH an under-rated album! Brilliant work from two geniuses!

  • Lovely. Underrated lads IMO. Like their work with Manzanera too!

  • Brilliant music making. Geniuses.

  • Am a bit amazed that the last comment was a year ago!!! Godley and Creme and also 10cc were seminal in not only 'pop music' of the 70s but also music/video production of the 80s and beyond! Get with the programme people!!!

  • This song would have fit in nicely on the 10cc album "The Original Soundtrack" perhaps even being placed before "I'm Not In Love" which is resembles a bit musically. I realize that Godley and Creme probably didn't have it written at the time.

  • @samjessica Play both these songs on piano. They sound different to each other.

  • 1977 when we where young

  • More genius from Lol & Kev, Consequences was and will always be brilliant!!!! Oh to have the original released on CD!!

  • Adore Consequences, a masterpiece of an album, beautiful music, and humour, transferred the vinyl to mp3.

  • Check out their Mondo Video!

  • Godley & Creme were an absolutely fabulous outcome of 10cc. Brilliant musicians, writers and video producers. I love this track. Have followed the career of the members of 10cc since the 1970s.

  • Whoa! Perfect harmony. Song reminds me of The Beales and Kate Bush. Only the best.

  • @jolf1245 And Lol Creme sang with Kate Bush on 'Something In Between' on her Aerial album!

  • it was 10 oclock on a wet and windy april morning. the hurricane that had destroyed honalooloo was moving its way south........

  • Both of them have amazing voices. Where can I get this MP3?

  • Why don't you download it right from here?

Or, if the converting causes you too much trouble, try the No23 Recorder.

  • the album is "Consequences" and is still be available - at ridiculous cost - from Amazon. If you're interested I can send you more info ...

  • My favorite 10cc song and it's not even 10cc!!

  • ah but it is... but they should have all stayed together but both groups are great

  • Wow : - ) I still remember the lyrics from beginning to end.

Great flashback. Thanx for posting !

  • really great song and really rare record

  • Wow! I can't believe how much of this great song I still remember. I haven't heard it for decades! Thank you loads for posting.

  • Wonderful song.

  • CrystalnAlasdair have you any idea how many YEARS I have spent looking for this track?? I heard it on TOTP and that was that. Been searching ever since and could not remember the artist so a great big THANK YOU!! You just made an old woman very, very happy. Well done you!

  • @ladydigger you will find on a compilation album, The Best of 10cc and Godley and Creme, from the mid '80s. Check out on Amazon. Enjoy

  • I really do have to dust off the Consequences album currently in the bottom of the wardrobe. This really was sophisticated stuff.

  • What a great song - I still have my vinyl copy boxed set of Consequences - they are available on fleabay quite regularly for not too much money.

  • never heard Lol Creme singing so low

  • Right. I always thought is was Kevin

  • This is excellent. SO sad that it would be over the heads of most non-musicians.

  • Wow - you studied music at school, that's amazing ! I guess punk never happened for you, the idea that it didn't matter whether the playing was technically complex or not. We can all appreciate a good song - get out more !!

  • @mikeMCSG The idea of playing songs of little technical dexterity started way before punk! Try a history lesson sometime.

  • @candelise

I didn't say anything to the contrary. Try reading a little more carefully.

PS I am a history graduate but thanks for the advice.

  • @mikeMCSG Really? From your tone, that takes some convincing.

  • @candelise

Well I can assure you it's true.

I took exception to the explicit snobbery in bunchie's original comment- why are you on my case ?

  • @mikeMCSG I think that the point being made was that the songs' shape, chord stylings etc. take a certain amount of expertise and intelligence than simply just a bunch of creative accidents, which is all a non-musician could rely upon.

  • @candelise

I respectfully disagree with you there candelise.I think the comment was aimed at the average listener not at any non-musician he/she may have had in mind (Andrew Ridgeley ? Robbie Williams ?) . He/she was congratulating themselves for recognising those qualities more than Lol Creme for displaying them.

  • @mikeMCSG Whatever you read into the intentions in his comment , the point was made. Your opinion concerning my comment does seem to lack any back-up, but I guess you are a musician as well as a historian. Very sorry, with respect.

  • @candelise

For God's sake I'm not disputing any claim made for Lol Creme's musicianship. I accept that point 100%. I am disputing that the mere ability to recognise that it's good makes the recogniser anything special since it's shared with millions of other people who took music as an option at school.

  • (^ so is CONSEQUENCES optioned out or is it an orphan at this point? who has it? CAA? someone else?

  • A great song with beautiful chords, tastefully played and produced. Thanks for posting.

  • Brilliant!!! What a long lost gem!

  • Wow! Youtube delivers again! This album blew me away when i first heard it, esp side 1 with all that gizmo stuff. "Please, please please" is hilarious! Remember, "if you're not a chicken, don't eat corn!"

  • I meant Peter COOK! Now I've marked my last comment as spam, clumsy.

  • Those suspended chords at the beginning and end are tidy, so 10cc. Might post some of the Peter Sellars play off Consequences.

  • Thank so much I've been 20 yrs trying to find this THANK YOU AGAIN xxx

  • I'm still disturbed by the announcer's hairdo...

  • Thats Jimmy Saville, a very eccentric person from Leeds, UK

  • Well, I'm sure if you write to him, he'll fix it for you.

  • What a great song.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks for posting this! The ecological theme of "Consequences" (the album) gives one pause these days and much of the music of G&C before and after this album is a great "original soundtrack" for these days.

  • Beautiful music about ordinary people made by extraordinary musicians. Kev's falsetto is amazing.Had forgotten this one.

  • I was listening to this on my mp3 player only y'day. I had no idea a tape existed. WOW! Thanks so much for posting this Crystal. You have really made my day.

  • do you still have the whole album on mp3, I've been looking for it for ages, my vinyl record has disappeared and have never found a replacement.

  • This is SO different to anything on their later solo albums like L and Freeze Frame.

  • So 10cc! But lacking just a little something, or someguys... Just like the other half did in the 80:s

  • Completely out of step with everything else that was happening in '77 but utterly glorious! Kev looks absolutely wrecked. Thanks so much for this treasure!

  • Hey, what happened to the two other guys? ;)

  • They're down in Jamaica on a Dreadlock Holiday.
