  • All protective motorcycle clothing must meet a relevant safety standard ( EN13595 to be precise). There is only one pair of kevlar lined jeans on the market that meet these standards (just!). They are from Draggin jeans and are called " C-Evo" they are around £259.99.

  • Not a fair test as the dummy was wearing brown shoes and not black.

  • man how can that dude get dragged without getting hurt

  • if your not stupid you buy real leather! simple

  • @trippinyayo wrong... in a test done, for the hi-art stuff, used by lindstrands etc, real leather last under 2 seconds before ripping through to skin when impacted at 60mph on tarmac, the kevlar protection jeans were over 6 seconds. Standard textile is 0.4 seconds.

    Normal denim was 0.6 seconds.

  • @Olliedfox I'm pretty sure leather is still yhe superior and preferred method of protection. I'm sure leather pants have better protection than even these kevlar lined jeans. If these were better, you would see many riders using similar material.

  • @Olliedfox I am sure that there has been a mistake in the data that you conveyed. If kevlar was as superior as you claim, why do motogp riders ALL wear cow hide leather? I sugest that dress leather was used in said tests not riding leather. There is a difference in the preparation and tanning of these different types of leather, witch leads to the huge difference in durability .

  • @tghayes Don't quote me on this but I would have to say because Leather is a lot cheaper than Kevlar, I've tried to cut resined Kevlar with an angle grinder and it minced the grinder but leather can be cut with strong scissors, so please don't quote me but I'd say it's price that attracts the racers to leather. Don't forget that a race track is smooth and has sand/dirt pits at the end of corners whereas on the road you've got all sorts of rutts and stuff like that that Kevlar would be needed for

replace: worldwideweb and Remove " "

  • @trippinyayo Kevlar is far superior to leather, simply physics. Leather molecules are nowhere near as close together as scientific kevlar, in this case, science>nature

  • pretect ya a bit if you get attacked with a knife

    or cutting vegies badly

  • of course, prob with kevlar is that if it get exposed to heat it denatures, leaving it no good anymore. Its alright, because your not coming off everyday! And it protects you the once, but would be good to have something that could survive repeated punishment maybe?

  • These guys need to seriously consider their pricing. I got a pair of Diamond Gusset Defenders for $125 and their made in the USA. There are also many other Kevlar lined jeans at or under $100. The Shift Racing Torque will be my next pair at $100 shipped. Tried them on a local shop and are very confy an well made.

  • iam going have get pair these very good idea
