@scubasteve i just got a new summit and encounter the same problem ,it's been a month since you posted your issue, did you get any better batteries yet? because this factory batteries really suckzzz.
@elbory1246 i have not upgraded yet but i did find an old charger that is much better and charges quicker so now each battery is around 8 hours charge but i still get the same short run time
For nimh promatch racing.com better yet lipo hobby partz.com. 2s 5000 mah and up 30c and a low voltage alarm or cut off I'm using a 2s alarm on the bec side.
My summit is 15+ pounds running the dewalt 14.4 with big tires. 2 2s 5000 30c lipo getting just under a hour give or take slow climbing up the mountain
Venom, Racers Edge, Dynamite, theres really no wrong battery except for the cheap ass ones. I run venom 5600mAh sticks on my axials and off 1 pack I get an average of an hour run time with a 27T motor beating the hell out of it, if im just techincal crawling I get upwards of 2 hours per charge. with the batts run in parallel, dual 5000 sticks should give you plenty of time. RC Planet has some really good deals, so does RC Boca, TSC Crawlers, theres really too many sites to type.
@somewhathigh ah ic thanks man ive been doing research on these batteries but there is just so many and i just dont know which ones to get now i have a better idea and i am now i am gonna try your websites thanks a lot
u can buy some 5000mah pair at maxamps.com, go under nimh batteries
