  • Two questions,

1)What's the dog called in it? 2) Is Guy Gibson or any other cast members played by either Denzel Washington, or any other token ethnic?

  • What a hero from a time of hero's ! Thank you.

  • wonder If the BBMF lanc will make an apearance as well as the canadian lanc is it to much to dream to see two of these birds in the sky together there is also another one under restoration to flight condition (three Lancs flying together would make me very happy)

  • Lancasters at Hood Aerodrome,Masterton!!

You got it right,I have seen one ,with all the makings of a film set around it,perfect in everyway(although made in China)still waiting for the other nine to be constructed, however,it looks GREAT!

    Tony Robb.

  • Salute to you jonny with much love thanks and respect for what you guys did

ive just read that the remake is being filmed now in new zealand (where peter jackson shines) using replica lancasters

this film is going to be amazing i cant wait

  • You're correct sir 617 Sqn was specially formed for the raid on the Ruhr dams, it could not have been known as a suicide squadron at that point in time as it had never flown a mission until the Dam's raid.

UPDATE: I just received my latest edition of Air Classics Vol 45 No 7 Pg 16 top right corner the Dambusters remake is a go, the Chinese have constructed 10 fibreglass and steel replicas designed by Weta Workshop, appears it's going to be filmed in New Zealand at Hood Aerodrome in Masterton

  • a remake would be amazing!

  • marvellous gent. pity about the previous comment.Jonny johnson was a dambuster, and yes there was a fighter ace with the same name. Please do these chaps justice and learn your history before making yourself lookinto a fool.

  • @jp3492 Yes he was clever dick

  • @jp3492 Yes he bloody well was.

  • No Honour we give them will ever be enough. We remain in their debt.

  • we salute you sir

  • bow to greatness

  • I have just read the book 'The Dam Busters' written by one of 617 squadron. I believe I am right in saying that all the members were already distinguished in their own squadrons before they were asked if they wanted to go to 617, because it was known as the suicide squadron. I think they had the choice not to go if they didn't want to. Not a single man refused. As you say, they were all heroes and I despair at the state of the country that they gave their lives to save.
