Ok well if you want to look at why people oppose the military you have to look back when it first started. If you think for a bit, I know you can find the answer. In WWII, they were heroes. In the 60s, they were hated. So you have to think what the differences between those two points in time were. When you do find the answer, do not scorn the reason. In fact, its a sign of a healthy democracy.

OK, Lets look at that. In the 60s, the military was doing what they were told to by the elected govenment. They were not not oppressing the American public. (Even Kent state was the national guard, not the main military.) In the 60s, there was a draft, so the people in the military still had no decision on what they do. It is the elected officials that decide what the military does, not the military itself. So you need to oppose the elected officials not the military.

Incorrect. The Iraq authorization was not a declaration of war-which hasn't been issued since WW2. By your own definition the war is unconstitutional.
