dang ive live most of my life in Michigan,... and was wondering if they had ever came here and here you go...thx for this too bad there is no sound.... how many times did their tour stop in Michigan?
i wish that i can find that girl that gave me a tix so that i could see that show because that was the start of me playing gutiar..thank you whoever you are.
i was nine years old at the time and i grew up on 25th street not far from the concert so i asked my mom could i walk down the street so that i could see the crowd of people around the stadium of corse so said no . i dont know how i ended up down there.. there was a young lady standing out front she ask me would i like to see the show i said yes she gave me a ticked and i took off running into the bilding
I was there for the evening concert. I was "just 17". I conned my way back stage... met all four of them when they held a press converence. I was later arrested for inciting a riot when the police found out I was lying... My parents were not happy. I didn't care... I met the Beatles!!!!
@BHart75 WOW. That's incredible! I'm 15 and have lived in Michigan all my life and I'm a Beatle fanatic. I just saw Paul McCartney in Detroit a couple weeks ago and it was the most incredible experience, I'm so thankful I got to see him. But, to have seen the Beatles and MEET them would be incredible! You are very lucky.
I was at this concert...14 years old. At one point, John said, "We would really like it if you would clap your hands and stomp your feet" but then we all started screaming more. When they sang "If I Fell" it got a little quieter but the intense sound in that arena was indescribable. But what a blast. My sister and I went to the area where the Beatles walked out and we watched them walk out. Paul looked right at us....wow, I'll never forget that concert ever.
I was a toddler when the Beatles came to Detroit, but my mom went. We had 8mm film from the concert but it disappeared. One of those, gave it to a relative for safe keeping and never saw it again deals. My mom sat in the balcony and a girl in front of her was waving a scarf the whole time so it wasn't very good. The best part was out on the street there was footage of the limos going by and the crowd.I don't remember if you could actually see the Beatles though.
I was there-with my sister. My dad surprised us with tickets .We got in early-came in from behind stage. Ringo's Ludwig's on the left. 3 guitars on stands. Etched in my mind. I own a similar set of Ludwigs from the same era.-Beginning of a love affair with music.
why has it been wiped? are you selling the film too. Oh well no worth nix now as loads of ppl ALREADY have this on bootleg dvd for sale. to all the beatles fans that would buy your now worthless to us. film
I saw the Beatles at Olympia, in Detroit, Aug 1966. I was 13. Does anyone have any footage? They wore whitish, pin stripe suits, and it was right after the "more popular than Jesus" statement. That concert is my most treasured memory and I was Absolutely thrilled to be there.! We were on the main floor and stood on chairs throughout the concert. Beatles 4 ever..
continued-as they came running out on stage. The flashbulbs were blinding and you only heard a word from a song here and there, but it will always be my favorite memory. I was 13 and happy just to see them.
I was there, September 6, 1964. Never forgot that date. Still have my ticket stub. There were two shows that day. Afternoon and at night. You heard "Here they are, THE BEATLES"
I just checked with Google and I was at the 1966 concert @ Olympia...THAT makes more sense. I rememebr it was August cuz that's all I wanted for my birthday...turning 12y.o.... :-)
I too was @ a Beatle's concert @ Olympia... I begged my folks to let me go with my friend's Mom and 2 brothers (who were in a band). Was there another Beatle's concert there? If not, I was only 9 YEARS OLD... i thought I was about 12! No wonder I had to BEG! Wish i had my ticket... i still have my I LOVE JOHN button though. Yes the SCREAMIN' and CRYIN' was like nothin' I ever heard- actually frightening!! lol
I was at this concert! You could not hear a word of the concert due to the screaming girls.
My dad was backstage with the manager of Olympia stadium and met them all. Got autographs too! I still have mine as do my brother and two sisters. Signed by all of them and also manager Brian Epstien!
I plan on selling it someday on eBay for my retirment.
I was there!! Only 12 years old, but I will never forget...
