Brad's one of the very greatest powerlifters to have ever walked onto a lifting platform. Whatever he does, it works for him. It's absolutely the "right way" when one can win so many world titles, dude.
Can you imagine being a teenage boy in about 6 or 7 years going to the door to pick up your date. And the door is answered by Brad. He is one of the nicest guys on the planet, but when our daughters date things can change.
Brad's awesome. He's drug-free and his lifting technique is more "pure" than what is used by many in certain other federations. Meaning, his strength feats are less about manipulating non-physical variables and more the result of REAL STRENGTH, POWER & STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY. I have infinite respect for what this man accomplishes. He is to what I aspire as a powerlifter. Go, Brad!
He's not. He uses a hook grip. I believe Brad had some bicep tears a while back and that made him go to using the double overhand to keep from it from reoccurring.
I believe he is actually using straps there. Gillingham pulls with a hook grip in competition due to his torn biceps, but I'm quite sure he uses straps when he does multiple reps.
Awesome! Gotta leave now for the gym ... deadlift day! Thanks for the motivation, Brad!

Then your way of deadlifting is wrong, because Brad is using perfect form.

whats the benefits of using that grip instead of the conventinal one?
joe19882009 2 years ago
this grip is better on your back. if you do the other grip where each hand has a different grip you are slightly twisting your back.
