Im a cyclist and cycling is what I love doing, so no offence to anyone here, but where I come from, ride like that in traffic and you'll probably get honked and cursed at. Probably some driver would punch you. I mean, look at all the trouble they're causing to the cars and taxis? No? Because honestly I'd be pissed if a cyclist just cuts me off just like that.

check the injury statistics for bike messengers. there was a harvard study that concluded that their job is more dangerous than meatpackers and one of the most dangerous jobs in general.

that being said, i love riding crazy in manhattan like these guys, cutting off cars, corking intersections when i'm with a couple other people. it's my favorite thing to do. i'm not AS crazy or fast as them, since i want to live and not get "doored" all the time, but riding in manhattan is by its nature crazy

I wouldn't say its one of the most dangerous jobs in general just because they have a high injury rate. you would have to check the mortality rate of couriers on the job and compare it with something like steel workers and underwater welders. Now those are dangerous jobs.Even cab driver have a extremely high death rate on the job. Don't get me wrong, I think its a dangerous job. Just the other day my friend (who's a courier) got a concussion when he broke someone's windshield with his head.
