  • I'm 19, 6'2", weigh 340, and bench 50lbs....gotta problem?!?!?!

  • im 17 weigh 193 pounds and bench 170 can someone thats been powerlifting for proffession or very long time (expert) tell me if thats gud idk

  • @sheanzl1 depent if you play football you should bench around 275 atleast im 17 too and thats what i bench

  • @sheanzl1 No, usually if you can do at least 50 pounds more than your body weight it's good. You should be able to get 240 or more.

  • 20, 5'9, max at 250 lbs @ 155 lb bodyweight.. just takes alot of time an hard work! im hopin to get 300 eventually..

  • 5'9"--175lbs--max220lbs.

  • When people say how much they bench, they should say for how many reps. It seems many claim they can bench a certain amount but fail to mention it's their 1-rep max. For example I bench 185 for 3 sets of 8, or 200 for 3 sets of 5 or 250 as a 1-rep.

  • i m 15 6'0 bench 225

  • I'm 20, 5'5, and weigh 130. I can bench 205lbs

  • @tsume12 Dude thats epic stats! give me some tips please? Will doing the Stronglifts 5x5 programme help me out? At the moment I'm doing 5x5 - 37.5kg but did 4reps of 40kg randomly should i stick with a 5x5 - 37.5kg or go with a 4reps - 40kg?

  • @FitnessExtremeVideos do 3 sets of 10. At first i started off at 95lbs/43kg. Work with dumbells as well. it helps out!!!

  • you're supposed to have an arched back, powerlifters arch their back

  • I'm 9 years-old and when I warm-up I bench 600kg when I do it proper I bench like 1,200 kg... just saying

  • Im 16 weigh 220, 5'7 and bench 225. WASSAP!

  • @kingkev395 ur 5'7 and you weigh 220?? jeez u gotta lose some bodyfat man

  • @LukeyFilms Lol yeah i know im working on it. But i kind of need to stay big cause i play football and im not very tall.

  • @kingkev395 5'6 165 i max at 230.

  • Very understanding

  • If you are 11 you dont bench that idiot most 14 year olds max around 120

  • @ElectricBark dude im 14 i max out at 185 i do 8 sets of 125

  • @ElectricBark i bench 185 my friend benches 200 were 14

  • anyone else see his legs not set :P

  • dude i bench more than you and im 11 i bench 135

  • @IVADERZIM101 Thats not good for you when your that young, your still growing too rapidly.

  • hmmmmmmmm should have watched this few years ago i might have all my real teeth.

  • Great TIPS man. Get it? NIPPLES :D

  • Nipple line;)

  • like this if you can bench press over 100 lbs.

  • @imafreakinbeast1 my cat could bench press 100lbs...

  • @imafreakinbeast1 lol fail dude

  • @imafreakinbeast1 it aint gonna take a much to bench over that dude. lol.

  • @imafreakinbeast1 haha good commet to get hits bruh lmfao ..........

  • Look at the hand movements starting at 3:10

  • Im 15 5'5 110 lbs and i do 120 gripping with my pinky at the beginning of the tread on the inside. Any ideas of where i should put my hands beacause my chest isnt getting that much bigger

  • @MrYakalak muscle confusiion is what you need, a changeup like everything else your body is a highly adaptable to its surroundings so after a while the same work outs you do for your muscles wont see much gain, try changing up your work out, maybe do heavier sets at lower reps, or lower sets with heavier reps to change up the workout, if you use bench presses alot in your workout, change it up to dumbell press, if they get too easy incline, and the list can go on its about knowing your body.

  • i like how he's training in a concrete dungeon!!!!!!

  • If the bar ain,t bendin ur jst pretendin!!!!

  • Thanks man! This is really helpful! Thanks!

  • thanks for explaining some key concepts. great work

  • @mattch808 thats only 135 haha i hope he doesnt need one for that

  • where's your spotter?

  • you should not be doing a youtube video about getting a bigger bench if your struggling with 205lbs bro! you shouldnt be doing a bench video at all unless your putting up at least 405lbs

  • @kfeaston138 if you read the title he clearly does kung fu, I don't think he wants to be benching 405lbs, clearly if you can bench that then you have to be in some shape or form, BIG? surely if he does kung fu he needs to stay in shape and lean not big and bulky?

  • @hammersman12 then what the hell is he teaching a bench press video for? He should teach a kung fu video then!

  • @kfeaston138 hes not boasting about doing the weight im pretty sure he could bench more then that anyway? its just a weight he is comfortable with for showing us, and hes helping out people when they 1st begin, i didn't know what to do if i couldn't get the weight off my chest when I 1st started gym just think of the other thousands of people that don't know? just because you can probably bench more then him it doesn't matter, chuck your ego away bro

  • 1m 13 and i can do 85 with my toes... gosh all these fuckin videos is people lieing about shit. ... JUst post questions or real statements not 13 year old , 195 lb bull shit...;)

  • what is your max weight you can lift, mine is 165, but im going to lift more becuase i got up to 160 lbs for 6 reps.

  • oh tank yu for showing me how to a bench a more weight

  • I can bench press your mom

  • @i

  • It's funny how people lie about their ages and max bench on the YouTube comments.

  • @12345grandman im 3 years old and i can bench 210 lbs

  • @germino777 YOU so so beginner.. I'm 2 years old and I can bench 225 lbs.

  • Thanks alot man im 13 and benched 195 and then like i was only able to bench 155 and then after i seen this vid i was able to do it again cuz i kept putting my arms kinda close and it was above the nipple line but i did it your way it helps so much and can i get a reply about when i sometimes bench my arms start shaking why do they do that

  • @nyvedink 13 and benching 195??????????? bs dude im 13 5,11 and i lift the most in my grade at only 150 10 times

  • @TheZombiesNation Haha im 13 and im 5 11 and yes im benching 195 believe it or not theres ppl stronger than you

  • @nyvedink coz your arms are tired.

  • @MakerOver3000 Yeah it doesnt happen anymore

  • nice

  • I'm 13 and i can bench 985lbs on a a bad day ;)

  • Out of everything I have viewed and tested the things that work best are synergy athletics tips and yours! You rule bro the wider grip on benching is a real advantage! The thing with tucking your elbows is also something very helpful. And you should also try the white knuckles technique. Its where when you are gripping the bar make sure you are gripping it as hard as you can for more tension in your arms and chest!. I am 14 and using everything you have told me I am benching 250 max!!!! Ty

  • @sk82live335 shut up

  • How much weight is that?185?haha im 14 and i just started lifting and i lift that much

  • @sk82live335 haha no one cares?

  • @sk82live335 ur sick

  • @sk82live335 Is that your one rep max with a spotter?

  • @sk82live335 I'm going to assume 1 rep and you must be atleast 5 ft11 and already quite developed to be lifting 85 kilograms or you are some kid who likes to sound tough on the internet I'm going to go with the latter

  • @sk82live335 um no one cares

  • @sk82live335 no one fucking cares how much u bench

  • @sk82live335 how much u weigh, im 132 and can do 175. im 14 also

  • @sk82live335 Dumbass its a instructional video, hes doin a weight he control like its nothing.

  • @sk82live335 We care.... ya no not rly

  • heheh he said nipple :)

  • @theused0321 hahah and he said line :)

  • you seem like a cool guy to work out with. it's hard to get motivated alone and good to find someone for spotting but also to yell at you to do more.

  • everything he said not to do when bench pressing he just did while he was bench pressing ahahah

  • this guy ever hear of negatives dont go slow you wont bench a lot its called high intesity training athur jones if any one knows

  • nipple line.

  • You contradict many other tutorials

  • Roll on stomach sit ups!

Just kidding. Nice tips but I think the sound is a bit off.

  • WRONG in competition benching if you dont arh ur back then it doesnt count as a rep.

  • im 13 and i can bench 125 4 reps

  • haha the video is a response to bruce lee

  • Yea according to him writing it eh? Don't believe half what you see and all of what your hear and I'm adding the last part and all of the claims people make.

  • Why would I trust someone who benches a 35 and 25 on each side...?

  • @Smaester he can do 265 Ibs, i sure he is trustworthy

  • @xXBaSSplAyer4LiFeXx im 15 and i can do 230 10x im sure by his age i will do 3 easy dont matter how much he can do

  • No offense but you took way too long to give a few tips haha. So far I got: line it up with nipple line, find the right gripping distance, relax when you come down, explode when you go up. And a tip on how to get out of a failed rep while alone. All very good information but doesn't need to take 9 minutes, just sayin. :P

  • this was very helpful. thank you.

  • im trying to be able to bench my bodyweight (165) but right now i bench 135 (not my max) 10 reps.

  • yo man im 14 right now and my max bench is around 190 right now im trying to get it to 225 in 3months. any tips that could help me reach my goal?

  • inevitably u have to benchpress with arching your back,,,

see yourself well and u ll notice u are arching yourback to put weight up,,,,

cuz the core is most important thing to make some strength.

but i see rest of techs well explained

  • alright

  • Arching your back allows a greater bench. Its part of a power lifting bench press technique.

  • @MattM233 Arching your back is one of the things you DON'T want to do

  • @PicturesOfMyButt Right, normally you do not want to arch your back. I never do, and never let myself. But I'm saying for a powerlifter, its different. They dont care about chest development, they just want to be able to move as much weight as they can. So part of thier technique involves an arched back.

  • @ride869 According to the many personal trainers I know, you don't want to arch your back when doing any kind of lift.

  • @PicturesOfMyButt ok then hows ryan kennelly benching 1075lbs steroids and arching his back

  • @PicturesOfMyButt ARCH HELPS PUT M0RE STRESS 0N THE CHEST AND LESS 0N THE DELTS.

  • am sure he was arching his back when lifting the weight thought he said not to do that ?

  • nice vid man.

  • Recommended is a weight lifting belt. It doesn't not help you bench more, but it does protect your lower back. The heavier the weight is, you can pull your back. Totally recommended and if you are always pushing your hardest, I would say a must have.

  • lol @ big benchers not lowering the weight slowly... this kid is a tool, dont listen to anything he says

  • @eastnygoon138 I wouldn't say he's a tool. He knows how to do it right, and he doesn't take steriods, plus look at his size for bench pressing. Your words are more of a tool than he is.

  • @ZaCkOX900 He is giving bad advice, and wearing a fucking rashguard... tool

  • @eastnygoon138 What is the bad advice? His advice is not perfect, but you can definitely lift more the way he explains. To do any better you'll have to train at least 3-5 days a week with 5 sets, use a weight lifting belt, and excert bench pressing. There is no better advice past that unless you want to take supplements and steriods.

  • @ZaCkOX900 3-5 days a week with at least 5 sets, excert bench pressing? wtf are you talking about. Il point out the things he says wrong... 1. No arch in the back 2.) bar touches chest at nipple line 3.) Relax on the way down 4.) Dont bring it down slow 5.) Roll bar onto stomach if a rep is missed etc. He seems to mean well but he doesnt know much about benching. It angers me when people with average knowledge about something post educational videos about it

  • @eastnygoon138 Arching back without a weight lifting belt is exactly how you mess up your lower back. He doesn't show some techniques that will improve your bench press to the best, but he shows normal stuff. Bar is supposed to touch nipple line, if yours doesn't, I don't know how your benching but that has always been the proper and strongest spot. Relaxing stuffings and gets you to hold the bar tight. Bringing it down slow would be exertion exercise, that is power lifting.

  • @eastnygoon138 Putting it on the stomach is if you can't bench press it back up. He doesn't have a spotter. So maybe your just taking what he says wrong, but my dad was a professional power lifter and the same stuff is here. He doesn't roll wrist, he doesn't put his legs in the air or push with all his ass. So if he isn't perfect, I understand, but he's not all that bad. There are a lot worse videos, getting mad here, I don't understand.

  • @eastnygoon138 Y0U'RE AN IDI0T

  • @asborisov1 good one

  • aaaaaaaaaaand then

  • hes cute.

  • hmm I'll try this when I work out again in a couple days. I have confidence this will work =D

  • thanks

  • lol you homos!!

  • nipple lines :D

  • Star Trekeeeeeeee

  • i like nipple lines.

  • power-lifting focuses on the explosiveness of the lift. it uses the entire back and your arms. if you are doing it correctly then you wouldn't use your chest muscles at all. the bar should align with your sternum. body builders would want to isolate the chest muscles so the bar is aligned with your nipples. in any case, no one should try to push heavy weights to start with. especially, when you are trying to power lift. if a professional lifter to check your form. nothing happens overnight.

  • 165lbs? and your giving tips? stick to kung foo weak ass.

  • your presses suck. you come down too quick, and bounce off your chest..wank presses, my irish pappy calls them. you pump too, which is another wank sign. take some weight off, slow down, barely touch your chest with the bar, count 2 seconds between reps, and aim for 50 reps..and stop wanking!!!!

  • I don't bench like this, I do it with my back arched and my elbows further in. I guess this is powerlifting but hey, it works. I've been going up 10 pounds a week like that, and its been consistent. I don't just bench press for looks like body builders

  • hahahaha mangina

  • dont listen to this guy

  • @Shaiton1988 if you're power lifting, not body building.

  • why most of bodybuilders arch their back when they do bench press, and u dont?

  • @yellowpokerman no, those are power lifters, they worry mostly on weight. Bodybuilders are more into perfect form with low weight for max results, so they keep their backs dow.

  • @Shaiton1988 yeah your a fucking moron

  • How much weight do you use there? I'm starting out and I'm wondering how much to use. Alsp I just got a new Marcy bench and the part that holds the barbell is getting really marked up :( The Marcy barbell has hard grip all that way along and scrapes into it, taking all the paint off. The bar I feel is very thin too and the grip is really far apart. I might send it back. It's also a 6ft bar and I'm now thinking of sending it back maybe, for a 5ft bar. Any info would be great, thanks :)

  • Do any of you do power lifting? Nationally or Internationally? I don't mean in Gold's gym with a bunch of muscle heads all roid up and trying to fulfill their ego. Powerlifting focuses on bone development rather than muscle development. I've been shown how to bench by a medal holder in powerlifting and I was told to arch my back. Freddie, I can see your love for Kung Fu, have a chat to a powerlifter if you are open to suggestions. GL

  • @Shaiton1988 are u fuckin retarded.... your not supposed to arch your back.. the only thing that does is strain your back...

  • nice vid nice tips and last three reps i thought were u last lol

  • If you want to lift more on the max then go fast on the negative but when you are working out take time on the negative because it will help build muscle and give you a better workout so when you go to max out you are stronger

  • This is redundant , if your benching more there than you wont get stronger , you should try to isolate the triceps biceps and chest , you this best with feet flat and back arched not flat .

  • im just wondering , do you have balls? its a good way to save life but its really bad for balls.

  • Nice vid, very informative, keep up the positive work!

  • im 13 and i can only bench 75 and my friend which is about half my size benches 80 i did 80 once but when my coach came over to watch me o it i couldnt do it again what can i do. Also i workout in my offseason class monday, and wednesday and tuesdays and thursdays we do agility.

  • thanks man you've helped me a lot and i've been working out for about 8 years

  • so when doing negatives put no energy and drop the weight to your chest

when pushing it up use all energy, and how you train to bench 225

    iam only at 215

  • heyy man, would be a massive help if you could tell me where I could buy a good bench from but under £100 would be good, anyy ideas?? thanks man

  • Awesome video!

  • I liked how you have thrown away the excessive Chi with your fingers just before lifting , nice move:)

  • Hey HomicidalDavid... For bulking, increase the weight and drop the reps to about 8. If u feel unsafe pressing heavy weights by yourself try using dumbbells. BUT REMEMBER to get big you have to eat big (and well) your diet is everything.

  • Yes young sensay cross the niple line LMAO!!!

  • look at "dave tates bench press" video on youtube.

  • great vid man...good form

  • just watching this video i upped my bench 10 lbs still not alot but im still young thanks

  • nice negative

  • ha 235 im only 14 im benching 215 pounds thats alot for my size 5.9 160

  • wow, you're too strong for your size

  • @Mu5clehead that's good.

  • i can lift a quarter pounder in one hand and a shake in the other

  • @sweetypie000 Ya but for how many Reps ????

  • @sweetypie000 wow. you´re one of a kind

  • @sweetypie000

Stupid people like you flooding tutorial videos.

  • @Cadbil don't hate because i'm great

    :)

  • I saw some dude at Bally Gym bench 970. And then just for kicks he said "Watch this", and he dropped it on his chest and his head exploded like in Scanners.

  • is this good. i play football and our coach makes us do force reps witch means. that you have a spotter that lifts the weight with you so you can get a maximum out of your lift to push you past your lilimits and after awhile of doing that weight you will be able to do this on your own. do you think this is a good idea???

  • i was benching earlier today and i dropped the bar on my neck and died.

  • oh i also wanted to ask how could i get stronger with out gaining alot of weight? should i run alot too?

and what would be a good workout subsitute for squats because i hurt my knee the other day and cant do those for now, thanks and thumbs up!

  • You did i great job explaining the proper way to do it, like taking it step for step. i hurt my neck pretty bad the other day because i arched my back and i guess strained it big time. appreciate the tips BRO!

  • Bad voice quailty you should use an amplifier, great video but bad sound!

  • I have been lifting since i was 12 years old. I am 2 months from 16 now.

By listening the locals in my gym i got bad advice, and could never get past 225 pounds.

I used your method for about a week and i am at 285 for 3 reps.

    Thank you.

  • hey!, is it good if youre 150 lbs and you can bench press 185 multiple reps or should i not be benching that much because itll hurt my muscles?

  • good tips, helped me out alot
