This is a great video. As a fixie rider this reflects the way I go about enjoying my bike far more than some of the "cool dude" types riding like brain dead maniacs.

Get something cheap. Cheap but has the correct gear ratio and necessary components. As you ride you'll know more about what to upgrade.

eg. you want a smaller gear ratio, your bike is making too much noise, your crank arm has broke, your bike is too heavy etc...

Then when you get a little bit pro you can start to upgrade parts like wheel hub, frame, etc to suit your own needs
