Nice job for the Red truck the green one u need a bit more Pratice it look like every time u got to a rock you just tried to gas over it and jump it instead of actually crawl it.
Nice vid! Good camera angles. You guys have some nice trucks. I notice that you are running a bent steering link, did you bend it yourself, if so how long is it, and what are the advantages? Thank-you.
@nitrofreakmanho I did bend it, not really an advantage to it, just a batter angle for the servo horn, doesn't put the horn under bind or stress with it bent. plus its different, something no one really does.
@12monkey00 lol o.i.c. ya the Axial axle's come with lockers when you buy a truck that you can put in. mine is locked up front and rear, some people leave the front out so they can turn better but I like them locked. so yes all the truck in the video's have lockers in them.
I just bought a scx-10 today with the tacoma body on it I was'nt even planning on getting one because I'm building a real 99 TRD tacoma street legal rock crawler right now but when I saw it with the tacoma body I had to get it. You guy's have any info such as web sites or general info I should know anything helps thanks.
Thanks, I wish I could find a body to make my crawler my Montero, that would be so cool. And thanks for the weight ideas, I'll try it out as soon as I get a chance.
Do you guys have wheel weights? I have a friend that got an SCX-10 Truck and one of the first things he did was wrap the rims with lead soldier. On steep climbs like at the beginning it seems to plant the tires better. And would you know of any body that could be painted/modified to resemble a 1987 Mitusbishi Montero 2 door?
@NASAVirtual yes, we run weights in all our rc trucks, so go as high as 8 to 12 oz a tire. We've tryed alot of things, sticky weights for car tires work the best. ProLine has a rim that comes with weights already, Titus 1.9 and 2.2 rims, they are what I'm running on the Toyota now and I like them alot. As for painted/ modified Mitusbishi, no sorry.
@93FORDBRONCO1 :) the video name is the brand. The chasses is an
Axial scx-10, the body is a Tamiya Toyota Hilux, its a custom build, i used different brands for almost everything. you cant buy this anywhere other then off someone that built it. :)
The honcho needs wheel weights. It's having trouble climbing. Also get a 55T motor!! It has good torque. I have a 65t and I got it for $20. It has soooo muchh torque!! But it's really slow. It's for like competition use.
@zbabar3000 what Honcho? The trucks in this vid are scx-10's. One has a Tamiya Toyota Hilux body, different brand from Axial all together, and the other has a Hpi Ford body, also nothing to do with a Honcho, sorry man. The Ford does have a 55T Novak motor, The Toyota has a 50T Novak. Now the Ford is no more and the Toyota is a tuber with a 45T Novak. Check out some of our newer video's. Thanks though.
i belive ur hilux is to light infront... just a observation i made... well, thats how it looks when ur car keeps jumping when u drive uåwards if u understand what im sayin. or maybe not. i may be wrong :P
You break a lot of stuff? Like what? perhaps, should i get an SCX10, should i get a few upgrades at the same time? Like a high torque servo or something?
You wouldnt happen to know the dif between an SCX10 TR and an SCX10 would you? The most I can figure is that the bumpers are different as are the bodies. is there anything else to it?
ya the difference is just the bodys and bumpers. chasses, wheels, shocks are all the same. we break alot of stuff because we crawl our scalers alot harder then other people, we jump them and roll them down stuff all the time. With how much I abused my truck, I think that Axial is the best brand out there for comp and scalers... No you shouldn't have to upgread right off the bat, but it is a good idea depending on what your going to build. if it has alot of (Lbs) then ya, upgread everthing.
I often see vids with both these and Tamiya CC01's tooling around doing hte same crawling stuff - which is better do you think? Theres a guy I spoke to on RCgroups who says he got an SCX10 stock and never needed to upgrade it and rarely needed to do any serious maintenance. What are your thoughts on this?
In this vid the Bronco is stock. My Toyota had hpi shocks and a Hand Brothers servo mount. other wise it was stock to. It all depends on what you are into. We crawl stuff with our scalers that most people crawl with there comp crawlers so we break "alot" of stuff all the time, if you've got to replace something then replace it with something better is what i always say. The scx10 "is" the best chasses out there hands down, starting out with an scx10 RTR or ARTR is the way to go.
no, the AX10 is a comp crawler. the scx10 is a scaler. nothing about them are the same. night and day. most of my older vid's are with an AX10. all the vid's with the toyota are with the scx10.
drive line's on my Ax10 are bigger then my Scx10. And my Scx10 drive lines have steel ends. The only thing thats the same on mine where the axles and tranny.
if you buy the kit you have to buy extra parts for it it might not come with the electronics so you would have to buy them separate but it would give you more freedom if you wanted to upgrade them because u can just buy what you want. but i would go with the rtr if you want to just get out and go.
okay, i have all the electronics etc etc, cuz i have a 2006 tmaxx 2.5 nitro that i blew up(opps) and i was just guna take all the servos, receiver, an esc, off that an puss them on the kit, because ive noticed the kits quite a bit cheaper
I would start out with the RTR, you'll get all the electronics already init to start. Make it easyer to get going and then change out your stuff as you go. FIRST thing to do is upgrad your tranny to a steel one. out drives tin to break alot,
i love it man, whats your wheelbase? nice rear end stand. ryan t showin out huh? great action bud. hey i saw my landy out there lol got to give the honeys props.:}
lol, thanks. We went to this place called the potholes, it a strem that runs off into a water fall that people jump off. good for family time, swing rockbuggin' and food. Can't beat that with a stick.
