I heard it in the background from the movie "Blues Brothers", looked up the lyrics on google. Robert Plant made a rendition, not even close to this one. Found "John Lee Hooker" among one of the top search results and I was like "Awesome blues = John Lee Hooker", and here I am.
I love the internet.
Hate SOPA, PIPA and ACTA though;
Wouldn't be able to find and download this song, and share it with my friends, if they were legislated and enforced.
John Lee Hooker's last several albums were collaborations with different artists. This song is on the "Dont Look Back" album. The band on this particular tune is Los Lobos. Sick!
@mertonparka is there anyway to find the cross section version of the song,did they record it,or just sing it live on the film,did they release high heal sneakers as a single,if they did surely it would be the b side,as its the only 2 songs i have heard them do,their version of dimples in the film sounds great,very late 70s mod revival sound.thx anyway m8,keep the faith.
@hoppybhoy71 Cross Section where a Rhythm and Blues band from Kent, who along with many other groups( including The Chords) auditioned for the part of 'The Mod' band in the film. High Heel Sneakers and Dimples where only recorded as the parts of the film you see and where never released by the band as a single...Keep on Keeping on... Keep the faith!
John Lee Hooker did for blues what Michael Jackson did for pop - this was a no 3 hit in Britain - and he was the first blues man ever to tour the country! he really was a god of the music.
@Lucapav You can also find it a bit slower on the album 1995 Jazz&Blues John Lee Hooker which I prefer 'cause it's slower, but way dirtier if I can say so. You'd like it if you like this version
old but superb
