Read all the books and even the 2 recent ones, Michael and Jon did have their happy ending as far as I am concerned, gotta love that Father Paddy or Patty haha
I've watched all the parts of "tales" now and I almost cried at the ending. Of course it was beautiful, but what made me cry was the heartbreaking knowledge about what the "hickey" really was. I so wanted Michael and John to have a happy ending, it's just not fair.
Thank you so much for these !!! I met Armistead Maupin at Seattle Pride 3 weeks ago. (he's so wonderful !) Read Michael Tolliver Lives and then started rereading the books... I decided to try youtube for the series since I didn't want to wait for Netflix and here they were. THank you soooo much !
Oh, my gosh. I read the post about the hickey below. There is always something introduced, isn't there, that ends up being an important story element later? Despite that imposing doom, this book winds up the first three books so lovely. Thanks for sharing it with us, B4UDSide.
@cdgh99 yes, probably a KS lesion before anyone knew what it was or meant. In the novels, I remember Jon dies and Michael becomes HIV positive. The series was nothing if not faithful to the onset of the gay men's health crisis that loomed at the time
@cdgh99 Yes, most likely it is. Although in the books you don't know until book 4, and everything is offstage. If you haven't read the books stick to the happy ending here. I find that the rest of the series is better written, but sometimes I just re-read the first three because I love this ending.
I saw the first two Tales when I was teen and they really did change my perspective. It was so good to see them again, plus the Further Tales too. Olympia Dukakis truly is majestic!
Thank You B4UDSide.. "Before you dicide" .. this is great!!!

@jonwiley Do you know if there's a part 2 to this or is the the final?
Josephdaz1 1 year ago
@Josephdaz1 I believe this is the final broadcast. I did a search for part 2 and nothing came up. you can continue to read the novels, though.
