  • BEST FACE

  • Lovely articulations and ornaments!

  • his phrasing isn't all that great. not all that interesting, musically. However, good touch

  • Excellent recording, your control is amazing and delicate. it inspired me to learn this piece which I eventually did, i sent it as a video response! Best regards Alexander!

    Josh~

  • 2:45, D naturals :P nice going, though :)

  • the presto is too fast for me, but it's gorgeous, pretty beautiful

  • I am envious!

  • Hes sexy!

  • Hasta parece fácil!!!

  • WOW an amazing performance but right at then end at 7:56 the one wrong note made me laugh sooo hard... Not that i'm saying it was bad but just that for him it would have been such bad luck.

    Awesome performance though!

  • Thanks Alexander. Wonderfully played. No problem getting that one to come alive. What a great job.

  • the most unjustly relegated, too), the great A-flat, C-minor and E-flat sonatas and perhaps, as far as it can be supposed from their first notes, the seven lost sonatas.

However, in my opinion this performance left aside an important degree of fury, even rage, that this sonata requires. The collection from 1773 contains, under a surface of technical simplicity, the widest scope of sentiments imaginable.

  • "Sturm-und-Drang" sonata? I am quite sure it is not. This sonata is the last one of the six composed during the year 1773, the only one in minor mode among its sisters and the most dramatic one, for sure. However, the context in which this sonata was composed was not Sturm-und-Drang but "galant". In fact, the Sturm-und-Drang sonatas cronologically preceed this and are: the six sonatas dedicated to prince Esterhazy (in my opinion the best collection by Haydn, but, as in the case of the op 50,

  • there are probably quite a few competition robots about, but this guy just isn´t one of them. haydnfan1732 shows poor judgment and also more that a little envy.

  • very good job

  • BELLE HÔMME!

Alexander est l'artiste le plus complet que j'ai vu sur scène.

sa virtuosité est inévitable, quand il a une maturité et d'esprit si haut.

  • @hlknw where is Zimerman? or Michelangeli?

  • @hlknw You're a french faggot. GTFO. And it's spelled "homme", not hômme".

  • @KonohanaVillager Thanks! You're so cute, but... I am a beautiful woman and you're a poor loser :D :D :D Kisses mua mua mua

  • This is Haydn's 32nd Sonata. Not No. 47.

  • @jeffbrak It's acutally Piano Sonata No. 47 Hob.XVI: 32 in b minor. So you are right and wrong.

  • You play extremely well! Good job!

  • Another competition robot. He understands nothing in Haydn's sturm und drang music and in the retorics of the sonata form.

At least we have good fortepianists out there.

  • @HaydnFan1732

I agree with you - robot

  • @HaydnFan1732

You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion. However, having heard Gavrylyuk perform many times over the course of four years, and knowing him personally, I can't disagree more. He is about as far from a "competition robot" as any young pianist could get; a jaw-dropping technique and deep love for music that communicates. A gift of real meaning, and, I will wager, a talent that will sustain a lifetime of performances of the highest order.

  • AMAZING. Played it for grade 7. He is amazing! x

  • great performance! fantastic!

  • I play this sonata not bad... but he plays it wonderful ! :D

  • Oh and one more thing to ask.

At the 3th movement, shold those single notes be 'legato' or 'staccato' at 07:43 - 07:46 and the also the same at 07: 51 - 07:54 ??

  • Ok im playing this sonata and i was wondering and want to ask you guys, shoul the first movement be that slow?? or more faster?

Cause my teacher makes me play it much faster then he plays it and i think it should be more slower so you can show your character not the speed or technique.

    Please answer

    Thanks all :)

  • I'd follow my inclination on the speed. Personally, I would say any faster is unnecessary. Would your teacher be willing to discuss your opinion? Your teacher should guide you, not reproduce themself in you. This speed is perfectly valid, so you wouldn't be way off-beam, anyway.

Have you an urtext edition of this? If so, just follow the score to the letter, and remain consistent. However, if you have a Schirmer, burn it!

  • Wow. This was so beautifully done! I envy those light quick fingers.

  • Excellent!

  • good playing and good piece.

  • Lovely trills

    thoroughly

    descript in the expression

    just right

  • This isn't a long sonata, but I love it. My favorite movement is the Minuet, sooo beautiful, especially the ascending minor parts. I think Haydn did some very interesting things with harmony, sometimes more daring than Mozart even.

  • he has a cute smile lol

  • Mreoin, he SHOULD play B major at 2:45! Its corect. I have the notes duh

  • outstanding facial expression!

  • emanuel ax plays this piece, too. I think he's better at interpreting haydn. This isn't piano sonata 47, it's no. 32.

  • BRAVO!!

  • Totally awesome :) Great piece aswell :)

    Thom

  • I heard him in Duszniki Zdroj this year. It was teh best concert I've ever heard. He's great!

  • Awesome !

    Great pianist !

    Perfect interpretation of style !

    Brillant !

    Thanks for this video !!!

  • This is the best performance of this sonata that is possible to hear. I really wish this young maestro a brilliant future! Bravo!

  • Man he's hecka good!!!!!! He missed the B-D chord 10 measures from the end!!! That was the only mistake. Still, I don't get why he sat down on the chair again, stood up and bowed again!!!???!!??????? Very good job Alexander Gavrylyuk

  • He plays B major instead of B minor at 2:45.

  • it's mean't to be that way.

  • He bowed again cause they kept applauding.. i think. Sortive like an encore

  • yup he stuffed the b-d chord

  • Better than good. Complete faithfullnesss to the score!. Did he fluff that D-Fsharp chord 10 bars from the end? Apart from that it was perfect

  • or was it supposed to be B-D??

  • Very very good. How old is he?

  • 24 this year. 21 when he performed this.

  • howdya no tht

  • AARRGH! what does he play NEXT!?!

  • NO WONDER HE W0N!
