  • Love this movie..

  • the black boys part is so much more groovy then the white boys part of the song.

  • Johnny Maestro at 01:39

  • WOw

  • @chilIin45dope White is a skin color, jew is a religion... is it hard for you to seperate those two terms?

  • @Lindkvist1515

As a matter of fact, seeing as judaism is such an insular religion, "jew" is actually an ethnicity, quite separate from "caucasian" which is usually used to refer to "whites". Caucasia is a region in Russia, and Russia had the pogroms, which kind of makes jews and caucasians opposites. Nah, I kid.

  • hahaha i love this movie

  • did you see how effortless it was to pick up Woodrow LOL. i mean with only a mear flex of dude power.....did he even use his whole hands or jus 1st two fingers on each hand.

  • woodrow... your socks!

  • how did i get here?

  • @hutcheybutchey i'm wondering the same thing at the moment...

  • Thanks! It's so hard to find these songs usually! :)

  • This song obviously touched on two issues: gays in the military and interracial relationships.

My folks took me to see 'Hair' when I was a kid, what a great film!

  • Well, I do not know wheterwhite boys or balck boys are delicious or nutricious.... but I gotta tellsya! Black girls.... OH, my goodnesss...

  • Jimmy Potter of the Five Hearbeats! He is @ 0:35

  • @revCL28 Johnny Maestro, first one on the left.

  • Nell Carter get down girl

  • Is this the musical that gave black guys their reputation?

  • The white guys portraying the Army officers sitting at the table are (from left): singer Johnny Maestro (1939-2010) ("16 Candles" & "Worst That Could Happen"); Jim Rosica; actor Vincent Carella; Fred Ferrara. Rosica and Ferrara were Maestro's bandmates in the music group The Brooklyn Bridge.

The black Army officers at the table were The Stylistics, a Philadelphia soul group in the 1970s. Lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. sang the falsetto part in "White Boys".

  • @TopazDupree No wonder they sounded so good! Thanks for that info! That high pitch voice has Stylistics all over it!

  • they are gay! xDD

  • Comment removed

  • them niggas are gay

  • 1. I love you Nell Carter! 2. This movie musical seems like it is worth a watch.

  • @omorado Lightly said. It's the BEST musical.

  • @omorado It is well worth seeing. The choreography and settings are great, and the acting's not bad. People complained that it was "dated" when it came out, but that's not really an issue now.

  • great movie great song. neil carter was a beautiful lady with one hell of a voice....

  • Black guys fill the boys up too!!! :-)

  • A master part.

  • Why do the soldiers have to strip down like that??

  • @markcohen6969 sanitary control.

  • @markcohen6969 The idea is to make sure it's actually a man being inducted and not a woman in disguise. There have been cases of women disguised as men as well as men disguised as women trying to get in.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the blonde female singer is Ellen Foley.

  • @windnchgo It is Ellen Foley. She appeared on Broadway in the revival of the show as well. I didn't realize till recently she sang the duet with Meat Loaf on "Paradise by the Dashboard Light", even though Karla DeVito lip syncs to it in the video.

  • Does anyone recognize that actor with the painted toenails? It's Micheal Jeter AKA The other Mr. Noodles from Sesame Street (among other acting roles) Probably best known as the street tranvestite in "The Fischer King".

  • @Hoggswoggle oh my god i've been obsessed with this movie since i was a kid, and i did not realize that until you just pointed out. my mind is blown.

  • @Hoggswoggle: He was also on the sitcom "Evening Shade" with Burt Reynolds.

  • lol when that major sang

  • who are the dumbasses that disliked this !!

  • @TheWhatever7777 there's only 18, so isall good ;3

  • Black guys usually do fill girls up.

  • @circaman1313 with what ?? with a big black cock ? well , that's right xD

  • at 2:30 that guy is my sisters boyfriends uncle he told me and i totally flipped out!!!

  • @loveislovely123 hook a girl up

  • @heyjudette lol he a really cute and caring person still but he has a boyfriend!

  • funny love it :)

  • 1:23, :D

  • Hey! The lady in the black sailor top played Will's aunt (that married a white guy) on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

  • The best part of the movie! Always makes me laugh!

  • director: Miloš Forman some czech immigrant

  • 3:02 herbert from family guy ?? Haha

  • awesome falsetto. Amazing song.

  • press 8 to see sum sassy black gurl finger waving....

  • 1:02 HAHAHA :D

  • @ethereall187

Funny you should use the word that originally meant ignorant... Cause thats what you are!

My question is how come you watched this video? Closeted maybe?

  • I saw this live the other day and had so much watching it never even seen this movie damn the evil powers trying bury good cinema

  • this song=gay porn

  • wat was the name of the song that ended in the beginning of this video?

  • @queenlego777

That's the song called "Where do I go".

  • the Picka pickadilly guy at 3:03 is my FAVORITE thing in the world.

  • Actually from the movie? The songs were glitzed up from the Broadway show and original soundtrack. This is one of the most inventive, relevant soundtracks of all time. Much edgier than you would think from the video clips. Makes me sad for two reasons: the period and what we were going through, and the fact that as a 20-year-old or so I could memorize the whole soundtrack in a matter of days. Too bad that no musical in this commercial/political climate can begin to go where this one did.

  • Mixed Media!!!!

  • i'm white but black wins

  • @ReFantash You just don't get it...

  • 1:00 brilliant! love this movie!

  • 4:28 Black man on right... BEST EXPRESSION EVER!

  • This song is hilarious

  • These are two of my favorite songs from Hair next to Easy to be Hard and Where do I Go!!

  • Why? Because women are commenting vocally about men the way men have been commenting on women for ages? Or are you going back to the whole race card like so many are apt to do? Don't like it? *Gasp* here's a novel concept, don't watch it.

  • @ComfortablyMuffin

    this is fucking awesome.

  • 1:15

  • R.I.P. Michael Jeter (Woodrow Sheldon)

  • WTF

  • woodrow is adorable.

  • @chelseamuse72

He sure is! I love Woodrow! :)

  • That coon is very well built and handsome!

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH

That coon? Wow, you're a total ASS! "Ignant JERK!" ...

  • How fucking likely is this eh????

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH ... You should change your name to BRUTAL IGNORANCE, LOL! ...

  • @misterjaw76 Go on: shoot me for being a realist! :D

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH ... It's obvious that you're an intelligent person ... That's why I'm really surprised that you'd refer to a black man as a "coon" ... Does being a realist mean you're also a racist? Come on now! You're better than that! :)

  • @BRUTUALTRUTH My dear, "coon" means something else in the UK; it is a friendly term for someone to be trusted and liked. Unfortunately, the term has been hijacked by racists and provokers. :(

  • My bad---Miss Beechman went to heaven in 1998. Please disregard previous post.

  • In loving memory of Laurie Beechman (1953?-2008), one of the soloists in 'Black Boys'. This was her only movie.

  • @Juliaflo

RIP and there's a young Nell Carter--may she RIP also. :)

  • @ValleyGyrlTV That's right.

  • I am the master of disaster...ask 'electroexecutoid' oh wait...add the "E" , since "I" COMES BEFORE 'E'. ROFL!!!!! "GOD IS WATCHING YOU WHEN YOU...." rofl!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE =D

  • I like how the short brown haired girl at 1:25 doesn't have super skinny legs and is sill beautiful. Shows how messed up we have become. Those women that sing are all different shapes yet they're still beautiful. :D

  • LOVE IT!

  • hmm... a song for intermingling of races!

  • 3:56 I love the chick int he middle. She's such a beautifully curvy woman. Oh...and the men are cute, too.

  • Go Nell Carter!

  • who are the guys in the table does anyone know who they are??

  • @NormaBersoza I did a google search and these are the names I came up with;

White Boys: Johnny Maestro, Fred Ferrara, Jim Rosica, Vincent Carella

Black Boys: Chuck Petterson, H. Douglas Berring, Russell Costen, Kenny Brawner, Lee Wells

Don't know which name goes with which person, but its a start

  • @Garion1227 Johnny Maestro is sitting on the far left at the table. Maestro (1939-2010) had a 53-year career in music ("16 Candles" "Worst That Could Happen"). Second from left is Jim Rosica; fourth from left is Fred Ferrara (both were bandmates of Maestro's in The Brooklyn Bridge).

  • @TopazDupree Thanks so much! It's great to be able to put the names and faces together. (Hopefully, someone can do the same with the 5 black gentlemen).

    And: GOTTA LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • go nell carter

  • I love the girl that say "OH YEAH GIVE ME A WHITE BOY!" xD

  • is there ayway i can see this whole movie here on Youtube?..I want to see this..Thanxs from Barbara

  • @Midnightryder7 I'm not sure if you can find the entire movie on youtube (in one piece at least) but I bought the dvd from amazon for $20. I also jsut noticed you can do a watch it now thing on amazon for 2.99. Hope this helps a little.

  • They should have played this the day Don't Ask, Don't Tell got repealed.

  • lol oooh yeah give me a white boy!!!

  • black singing part was cooler :D

  • The recruit in the beginning is Mr. Noodles brother...the other Mr. Noodle(no pun intended) from Sesame Street!!!

  • /Users/asrenne/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters/2011/01/19/20110119-171419/IMG_0097.JPG

  • @CATOZOR funny cat picture.

  • sing it nell!!!

  • First recruit is Michael Jeter, villain from Air Bud. xD

  • aaw, michael jeter! <3

  • yeah, that's fair, they where trying to be avant garde and all new-like in those years with accepting gays and differently colored people. in the end they just fucked up by forcing it. and who roots for the ugly people? nobody, a nation of ugly people is a nation of bullied underdogs and a nation of vengeful bitter people. offcourse it must be desirable. this is just stupid, dude. not just because of the reasons mentioned here. nice movie though

  • Awkward

  • So would Hispanic boy be like milk chocolate?

not trying to be racist but they never mentioned them in the song

  • @jezabell1994

    More like caramel =)

I guess asians would be like...honey lol

  • @jezabell1994

    btw...asians weren't either...but this is about black-white relations

  • @jezabell1994 I'm thinking cinnamon ;)

  • @2:04, the guy on the left nearly falls out of his chair.

  • Nell Carter was the bomb,, i miss her

  • If this is true to life, it's good Congress ended "Don't Ask Don't Tell"--our country might have been left defenseless if they hadn't.

  • lol so funny and awesome

  • I don't remember this song/scene in the stage play.

  • what great songs to get stuck in your head. remember; sing as loud as you want!

  • Both of these songs CONSTANTLY get stuck in my head!

  • 2:56 epic singing starts

  • I love this! Each race finds something beautiful and sexy about the other race without discriminating against homosexuality!

Hair wins again!! :D Peace and Love!

  • @GrowTheTruth They actually want to make fun of the army as if it is gay.

  • What the hell did i just WATCH!? I LOVE IT! haha

  • kickin bass line, anyone know who was playing it?

  • this song is funny as shit

  • for wowzer33 i think hour thinking of the guy who played appolo creed in rocky he looks a lot like him but i dont think it is

  • why is the part where black people sing always sooo groovy??

  • @likiama Cause they knew how to do it! Sistas got SOUL!

  • does anyone know who that black guy was, he looks familiar I just can't place him.

  • I think I saw Jonny Meistro of Brooklyn Bridge in there too.

The guy with the toe nail polish was in the green mile as the inmate with the mouse. Can't recall his name but it's him for sure.

  • I think I saw Jonny Meistro of Brooklyn Bridge in there too.

  • Was that Nell Carter???

  • @pics2share Yep.

  • @pics2share yes, that was Nell Carter singing lead on White Boys.

  • Such a fun way to make a political statement

honesty not everything has to be so serious

    this movie proves that

  • we love this..

    thank U..

  • 12 dilsilkes? All that means is, at least 12 people in this world are missing out.

  • This is one of the few songs I really prefer in the movie than in the original show.

  • The name of the sitcom that Ms.Nell Carter was in was called "Give Me a Break".

  • Thats Nell ( She passed away a few years ago. She was in a well know sitcome, but suddenly i can't remeber which one. Any help out there?

  • @KiraKisa100 Oh, Ms. Carter is great, but I was asking who is the lead female singer in BLACK Boys.

  • @KiraKisa100

    "Gimme a Break"

  • verrrrryyyyyy, verryyyyy goooooooodddddddd :-))))))))))

  • This is why we should repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell. Then they could sing this song every day.

  • Who is the lead singer in Black Boys? She is really amazing.

  • @solomonmonterrey That's Ellen Foley, who sang on Meatloaf's Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. She had solo records too.

  • on many levels masterpiece.every song.for ever

  • His toes were nicely painted at least!LOL!

  • FANTASTIC !!!

  • It would be awesome if they filmed this in the Bronx. I wonder what kind of response they would get.

  • Nell Carter!!!

  • I'm sorry, what was it all about no say, no ask principal in the USA army?

  • That black guy had some serious bulge there ... mmmm

  • Milos Formann....what a genius!!!

  • Milos Formann...a GENIUS!!!
