The black Army officers at the table were The Stylistics, a Philadelphia soul group in the 1970s. Lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. sang the falsetto part in "White Boys".

Actually from the movie? The songs were glitzed up from the Broadway show and original soundtrack. This is one of the most inventive, relevant soundtracks of all time. Much edgier than you would think from the video clips. Makes me sad for two reasons: the period and what we were going through, and the fact that as a 20-year-old or so I could memorize the whole soundtrack in a matter of days. Too bad that no musical in this commercial/political climate can begin to go where this one did.
