guys it was matts decision to go to eisner. yes, i go to eisner so i took some of ur comments offensively, but honestly we dont care if the song wasnt originally for us! i dont want to sound mean, but grow up a little.
I have a new view on this situation. I see it as a good thing that Matt changed some words in the song. Its not good that he gave it away, but at least they don't sing stuff that means everything to us and nothing to them. Did you know this song was on an episode of ABC Family's Switched. or something like that. So we should be greatfull that on his album, at ALL the other camps, and on that TV show, he changed to words to preserve the original songs meaning. Think about it
Ha. This thread is great. I know the importance of camp memories. I'm 42 and half of my friends on Facebook are from when I was 12. However, this song has been sold to another artist who has released it on a DVD. It's a great song. Look at it this way, music is meant to touch everyones' hearts and be shared. So be generous with what you love because the world needs it right now. We all need to be moved by a song and have good memories :)
btw jewishpride91, iv been looking at at this video for almost a year, pretty much since your first post on this video, and i never knew you were jared kelly, im jason flatt
i <3 you jewishpride, but you matt stamm. For god sakes give eisner it own song, dont just change the song from harlam. Thats just mean. seriously, you took the song and just changed like 20 words that meant something to camp harlam, get a heart.
He wrote it for Camp Harlam and we loved the song until he took it with him to Eisner and changed the lyrics. I cnt stand the song anymore because he did that but he does have talent so i wont take that away from him.
It meant alot to us as OUR camp song. He took a song that had alot of memories with us and he took it and change the lyrics when he moved on to Eisner. Ive got nothing against Eisner and other then the fact that he changed the song, nothing against Matt. Im sure he could have written a song completely about Eisner that could have been amazing rather then taking away from a song that became Harlam's anthem
I went to camp Harlam for far too many years and I really don't understand why we need to be so nuts about Matt Stamm and how he changed the song for Eisner. You'd have done the same thing, and I don't see how that would make you hate the song, unless you're one of those people who constantly go "Oh I liked them before they were popular, now they totally sold out." Then I understand.
It depends on the artist, but i can be one of those "i liked them til they sold out guys." Its the fact that a song that meant so much to us as camp community and touched us got flipped into a song for another camp. Its taking away the meaningfulness of it if he changes the lyrics for somewhere else. What if he had gone to other camps and changed it just for them? it wouldve been pathetic. Not to say hes a bad artist, it was just a shame he had to change it and take away from harlams anthem
Alright, I can respect your opinion there, and I sort of understand it. But it was only a 3rd place alma matter anyway =) By the way, just looking at the '91 in your name, what year of camp were you - you're my age.

Why the hell did you have to go to eisner camp or what ever and change the words to summer time forever?!!?

Frankly, what does it matter which camp sings the song or how they sing it? Jeez. Eisner loves it. Harlam does too. Chill your motors.
