First gig I ever went to was as a 15 year old in Perth to see Live (1997) - great gig. Mental Jewelry, Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi...all decent albums. Distance To Here was passable... absolutely fucking terrible ever since. LIVE are one of my big musical regrets. They could have been a genuinely excellent rock band but clearly gave Ed too much influence and he and the record Co took them down the 'spiritual' pop road. Just awful, embarrassing records. Some relief to hear they have split

Very ironic that Live would break up because this "teacher" got greedy and acquired various rights to the band behind the other band members backs AND demaned a $100,000 lead singer bonus at one particular show.

THAT is why they broke up, and the other three members are far too pissed at Ed to ever get back together with him.

This band has been around the block, and there most commercial times have been over for a quite a while. But they have managed to maintain and grow their musicianship, and fan base.  This crowd is singing their old songs....fairly well...these people still listen to these songs all the time....that is impressive. They totally rock any venue they perform at....my hat is off
