Have you read the new strategy? The fact is, there is significant refocusing towards soft-counter insurgency strategies and actually actively supporting the existing infrastructure and government of Afghanistan and Pakistan against terrorist cells, which is something that Bush only talked about.

Get a clue Obama! Al Qaeda cannot be defeated by external military forces, it must crumble from within to truly be defeated. Was the Soviet Union defeated by military forces? No, it failed because the system was rejected by the people. Did we defeat the Communists in North Vietnam? No, they are still Communist today because we tried using military force instead of educating the people and using diplomacy. Obama needs to stop pandering to the neoconservatives.

If i were president and intelligence said there were WMDs i would ask for incontrovertible evidence. Declaring wars without the evidence you sold the war on is a bad precedent by a bad president. To your other point about the troops, were already in iraq and bin laden still isn't caught. The people responsible for 9/11 were not in Iraq, we wasted time and resources in iraq instead of pakistan & afganistan where the core of al queda reside.

Perhaps an analogy will help. I am against spilling coffee on my white rug, but once it is done i have to stay on the rug until i clean up the stain. I may estimate it taking 10 minutes to clean, but if the stain is deep i may adjust my time table to 15 minutes. The problem with the whole Afgan-Paki situation is simply the caliber of soldiers on either side. The Taliban are highly motivated, battle hardened, excellent leadership, combat soldiers. The Afgan troops we're trying to train all smoke Hashish and are a lot of criminals who couldn't get any other job.

The people voted for Bush in 2004, indicating through an election that they were at least able to tolerate the wars. They voted for anti-Iraq war Obama in 2008 as they became more against it.
The Constitution doesn't prevent bad things from happening, it prevents bad things from happening for too long.
Gold is a finite resource, it is not a practical currency. It needed to be replaced and should not be reverted back to.

I haven't read the whole constitution , just parts but if you don't have sound money you might as well kiss your freedom good-bye. Fiat currency is fine as long as the government doesn't try to print its way out of trouble. The people can't turn in their paper for gold can they ?

I think I understand what you are saying. You believe the US Dollar is too big for inflation. I simply disagree. There is a very simple logic to inflation. The more you create of something, the less valuable it becomes. The fact that that "something" is the US Dollar, the world reserve currency, will only delay the inescapable outcome.

Where does Obama get the money for his bailouts? without rasing taxes and with a trade deficit. Only two options, lenders and the printing press. These two essentially have the same negativ effect on the dollar.Furthermore, the federal reserve stopped publishing stats for the printing of USdollars in 2006. My question is, why did they do that? look up M3 which is the us money supply statistic.

The value and stability of a currency is directly related to the credibility of the country's government. As a country borrows more, it's credibility will decrease. This will affect the US Dollar. the only real question is when.

The time tables for getting out of Iraq went from basically right away during the election to the same bull shit timetable that Bush first stated before he refused to say... were still there. It's funny that Obama always criticized tax cuts to the rich, yet goes and bails out the guys on wall street. It's the same difference, except that we'll be in an even worse deficit.
As for foreign policy? The idea of chasing the terrorists around and even mentioning Pakistan is just sad at this point. It's the last thing this country needs.
I think his Ego is getting in the way. I don't see him being a good president. Better than Bush? Sure. But that's not a very high bar.

we've been giving money to Pakistan to help us in the border with Afghanistan but what they've been doing is taking our money (during Bush's admin) and using it against India, instead of helping us. What Obama is saying is that if they're gonna keep taking our money they have to comply with their part of the deal. Get informed so you can back your criticism with something !
