  • thank you so much. these vids helped me understand this. you rule! =D

  • Wait this is college math im doing this in grade 8

  • All of my former math teachers disliked this vid

  • you are an awesome teacher!

  • As much as i attempt to comprehend factoring, it's as if it just doesn't fit in my brain. To me it's just seems like inconsistent jumble. I don't see it.

  • be my teacher !!!

  • This guy is entertaining. Its awesome.

  • Wow I wish I had you as my math professor! These are great videos and very informative! Thank you for sharing!

  • this is confusing because my questions for example are

    4n^2-20n+25=0

and most of the videos on here dont show how to solve this or are they the same?

  • i wish you were my math teacher

  • Pathetic three, alright!

  • This guy explains it very well. You make college a whole lot easier. Thanks.

  • Thank you so much, understanding factoring was killing me, your an awesome teacher

  • why cant all teachers be like him :((

  • If this guy was my math professor I would be sooooooo happy.

  • You just made my life! My math teacher made it soo much more difficult! I really want to give you a big hug right now! haha I really wish you were my math teacher instead!

  • LITTLE TiNEEEE 3

  • √

  • When I was in elementary school, I used to be scared of this guy. Now, I suddenly want to go give this guy a big hug and say, "THANKS BRO!" Honestly, I learned more from both parts of these videos than I do in like two periods from my math teacher.

  • I have to factor trinomials with all the coefficients being odds!

    My problem is 6u (square) - 7uv - 5v (square)

    Help :(

  • i wish he was my prof in algebra :)

  • this really helped me alot.. :D

  • THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU SO MUCH I was having a hard time with this and I get it now

  • w0w !! tthis is college algebra???

In my country its only for 2nd year high scholl

  • your soo funny! and sooo helpfull

  • i have a question : how can i factor this --> x^2-15x+56 it seems a bit hard for me

  • when my math teacher says this I have no idea but when he says it i understand it like a math wizard

  • @kykyxisxthatxgal That is because Professor Edward Burger IS a math wizard! :)

  • what happens on the second point (my problem) 32n^2-80n+50 then it goes to 2(16n^2-40n+25) the it goes to 2(16+blank) (16+blank) but the thing is whatever multiplys into 25 doesnt go itno 40!!!!! AAAHHHHH I DONT GET ANY OF MY PROBLEMS

  • @grapsl85 5 goes into 40. My recommendation would be to stop trying to pull the 2 out first. Also, 2(16+blank)(16+blank) is completely wrong. Remember FOIL. 16X16=256. I don't want to answer this for you, but I'll give you a start. 8X4=32. Also, since you have -80n and +50, you know that (16+blank) is wrong because the "blank" has to be negative. This is solvable, I came up with an answer I was able to FOIL back to the original trinomial.

  • @grapsl85 Because you skip something

    1st term

    Inside term

    Outside term

    Last Term

Rule: Add Inside Term and Outside Term

  • he looks like RJ Berger!

  • Finally I understand this. None of my teachers are this good.

  • Your videos make my "no sense making" math book make sense. Thank you.

  • You're videos are a godsend!!!

  • @Addicted2Mac1077 Always glad we can help!

  • Sadly, I've taken this class about 3x already and it's because i really suck at factoring, but a light bulb just went off in my head when i saw this video! THANK YOU!!!! Now i might have a chance to actually pass :)

  • @Keyamonet1 GOOD LUCK! I really hope our videos help you pass and move on! :)

  • You make this so simple. great clarity, thanks

  • Nice suit & tie.

  • thank you so much! my teacher talks waaaay to fast and she uses her own terms, so its extrememly confusing! this turned my homework from an F to an A!!!!!

  • @gokussj224 So glad Prof. Burger was able to impact your grades so much! Keep working hard and finding videos that help when your teacher doesn't. That kind of determination will help you in your education more than anything else!

  • he saved my life

  • sorta confused : /

  • I was scratching my head because of factoring before this video...now everything seems clear. ^_^ Thanks a ton!!

  • Question: In this video you seem to do FOIL to check the answers of last exercise, but i noticed you didnt follow the order of FOIL which is First, Outers, Inners and last. You did a) FIRST, b)INNERS, c) OUTERS, d) LAST.

    What up with that?

  • @bizzchannel FOIL is basically an easy way to remember what combination of numbers you need to multiply in order to multiply algebraic expressions. If you test it, you'll see it doesn't matter what order you do them in, as long as you multiply the FIRST, OUTER, INNER, LAST numbers. The mnemonic is easy to remember as FOIL, but you might have a more difficult time remembering FIOL, or something else. Either way, it works out in the end.

  • One of the few math videos I've found entertaining. Colorful and Informative. Excellent!

  • @bassmzero Awesome!!! Glad you liked it!

  • loved the blob and the home run music.

  • I was so lost with factoring but now I get it thanks a bunch! :D

  • when you're adding -10r2s+3r2s (to=)-7r2s why do you not have to square s? is it just an algebra adding thing?

  • @white18widow you square s when multiplying not adding.

  • thank you very much. well explained.

  • Excellent tutorial, very well detailed and fun to watch.

  • @VeniasHD Thanks! We love to read this kind of feedback!

  • I am loving this teacher man

  • @Acwdhawle He is one of my favorites!

  • awesome!

  • thank you very much in this vid..you help a lot of people on this....keep up and have a good day...

  • @cleopatra324 Glad we're helping! We'll keep on making videos for you guys!

  • Thank you for uploading this video, ugh perfect for average Algebra students like me who doesn't really excel that high in Math. But then, I get really confused when the terms to be factored are more than 3 terms, well kinda exotic I suppose, I don't wanna lose hope in Math! I wanna excel in Math this college. Thanks! This was great! Keep em coming!

  • @tetaybebe We've got a ton of Algebra videos. In addition we sell an online course that can help you as Edward Burger is the teacher and he is able to explain this stuff so well. Check out our website for more information!

  • I failed the first actuarial exam 15 yrs ago, by one point. Totally soul crushing experience. That was in the days before youtube however. Because of the incredible resource available in this and other video series, I think I could get up to speed again fairly quickly, and I can imagine myself giving it another shot. Thanks, this is great!

  • @hanksteelbranch So glad to hear our videos are helping you get up to speed! Good luck!

  • been out of high school for 6 years. this guy is a geeky bastard but its all coming back. he taught more in 14 mins then i learned in a day at high school

  • @Tranquil787 Edward Burger is a wonderful instructor and we are very lucky to have him teaching our math courses.

  • Thank you so much! My teacher just didn't make any sense. The first part was the part I didn't know. Thank a lot for making these help videos!

  • you are my new hero! :*)

  • this is my excuse to be on youtube during the day lol :D
