  • Wait, you can actually buy white sauce? In a can?! I remember making it from scratch in junior high home ec...

  • is it so hard to use fresh asparagus.

  • why does she pause at such weird times in a sentence? "and bring that to... *pause* ... a boil"

  • The only thing that will help her remember that she made this soup is the foul smell her urine will be the next day. That is why she drinks so much apparently is to forget the horrible food she ate the previous day.

  • Hey Aunt Sandy... Want some asparagus with that cream?

  • Like, the only time I've ever seen her taste anything that's not a cocktail.

  • Wow - such contempt for the lowly immersion blender.

  • I think is the first time I see Sandra tasting her food, she only tastes her cocktails.

  • THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE CREAM OF ASPARAGUS SOUP NOT CREAM OF CREAM SOUP!!!!

  • When I saw the title I literally thought she opened a can of condensed soup and went "Ta da".

  • @evilwatches im sure she thought of that but the producer must have told her to at least pretend to cook.

  • "but I like using my blender..NORMAL!"

  • i'm gonna barf!

  • shes so lazy!

  • SEMI homade-if the show is called that doesn't it mean that some things must be homemade on the show and seriously STORE BOUGHT WHITE SAUCE?

  • Does she have any idea about the rule about not filling the blender too full especially when there is a hot liquid inside?

  • There was me thinking that asparagus soup was meant to be some shade of green...

  • White sauce? Is she talking about alfredo? I have never heard of that in my life.

  • @Lillzbe Sorry, but white sauce is a real thing. It is basically a béchamel without any seasonings. In order to make it you would make a roux in a pot or saucepan and then when the roux has cooked out you would gradually add your hot milk until it all thickened up. You would just never buy it in a can is all.

I cannot believe she bought it in a can. I had no idea that even existed.

  • why didn't she just buy a pre made can?

  • White sauce looked like something that came from a mutated zit. Ugh, what the hell?!

  • That looks like the pus that comes out of a pimple...

  • of my god, she did not go to le cordon bleu, look at her knife skils, isn't that like the first thing they teach you there?

  • blender + asparagus = soup? wtf thats equally confusing as how

    cookie + cookie = spongebob!!!

  • that white stuff from the can... ugh

  • Oh wow. It didn't come from a can.

  • I dare her to go on Hells kitchen and serve Gordon Ramsay this as her signature dish

  • @JDXS448 That would make a really funny SNL sketch or Family Guy cutaway joke (you know, those jokes on FG that always start with someone saying "This is better/worse/more depressing than the time I..." or "That's like the time..." or "Remember the time I....")

  • All the rest aside, I feel like she put waaay too much of the water into that blender. She's entertaining to watch only because it makes me feel like a culinary genius because I know how to steam vegetables and cut up fresh produce.

  • Want a REAL recipe?

    1. Melt margarine in a pot. Add onions and chopped celery; saute until tender. Stir in flour. Cook for a minute, stirring constantly. Do not burn, or let it go lumpy. Add water, chicken broth, and chicken soup base; stir until smooth. Bring to a boil. Add diced potatoes and chopped asparagus. Reduce heat, and simmer.

    2. Puree soup in a blender. Return to pot.

    3. Stir in cream, soy sauce, and black and white pepper. Bring soup just to boil. Adjust seasonings to taste.

    DONE!

  • @wespolly That sounds so good. Must try it. :D

  • @wespolly except for the fact that margarine is but 1 molecule away from being PLASTIC, rendering it the devil, id say that that recipe is a little better than aunt sanys. just use butter or olive oil though

  • @hodgrix I'm vegan, which is why I don't use butter and instead use vegan margarine(such as Earth Balance). But I haven't thought about using olive oil for that before. D,D

I'll have to try that out. Thanks for the tip!~

  • @wespolly oh i see. yea my mom makes a similar soup to the 1 you're talking about and she uses olive oil. and she uses rice instead of potatoes. but its all the same. id like to try it with potatoes actually

  • this would have been a lot better if she uses fresh ingredients

  • she wants ME to be careful.

    I feel so loved.

  • And half a cup of brandy?

  • And a half ca cup of Brandy?

  • I think she's laughing at the asparagus in the blender because it must given her a great idea for a new cocktail.

  • Ah yes, full of vitamins and flavor ... which have been destroyed from being FROZEN YOU FOOL

  • @Blunderbuss09

    Pro tip

The nutrition loss from freezing/thawing food is minimal, it mostly affects texture/flavor/appearance.

  • @Blunderbuss09 frezzing is actually a way to perserve food so how could it posibly destroy the vitamins? come on now if anything it helps retain the veggies nutrient

  • "If you wanted to, you could use one of those hand emersion blenders, but I like just using my blender - normal." HUH???

  • I love how almost every time, she says "mmmm" before she even tastes it. Then she puts it in her mouth

  • Why arent the sparagas pre-sliced

  • Is it just me or does sandy always look like she forces a smile after she tastes her "food" ?

  • @BTKrizia She also looks like she's going to gag every time she puts some of her "cooking" in her mouth.

  • Pretty sure when you cook asparagus, the water isn't supposed to turn terd brown.

  • ew wtf is that ' white sauce'? looks like an abomination

  • "We have to cut these into three pieces." It's gotta be three. You're fucked if it's four! Even though you'll be blending them almost immediately.

  • My blender, normal. Just about peed laughing about that one... bwa ha ha!

  • I didn't know white sauce came in a can. I wish I never found out about it

  • I feel like if she's going to boil the asparagus anyway, it wouldn't have been that much more of a hassle to just cook it fresh instead of buying pre-cooked. Asparagus takes like 3 minutes to steam. But I guess she's got to hit that 70% mark.

  • God. So much waste. So much consumption.

  • why on earth couldn't she have used fresh asparagus???

  • BE CAREFUL PUTTING HOT STUFF IN BLENDERS. I'm now convinced this show is for the mentally challenged

  • @itsmeyourdad my favorite is when she explains what very simple ingredients, like goat cheese, etc. are and taste like.

  • whyyyyyyyy can't she use fresh ingredients... JUST ONCE

  • I'm confused as to why the frozen asparagus is faster to work with than fresh. You still have to cut it. Frozen is probs more expensive, too.

  • She doesn´t want to strain it because it is too much work !!

  • Why does canned white sauce even exist? It's not that hard to make a real white sauce, and I'm a lot more likely to have flour, butter, milk, and cream on hand than a fucking can of white sauce.

  • I can't decide if I'm more mad at Sandra for using canned white sauce, or at the person who decided to sell canned white sauce.

  • 1. Ready-cooked asparagus has given up a lot of its vitamins in the cooking process.Raw asparagus doesn't take very long to cook so why not use it?

    2. Canned sauce (salty), chicken stock (salty), salt and pepper. As if it's not salty enough, right? Pepper doesn't really work here because asparagus has a gentle taste about it.

    3. What's with her always using steel kitchen tools on nonstick cookware?!She must be determined to give everyone poisoning by flaking some teflon into the crap she "cooks".

  • She named her blender "Normal"? ;-P

  • Oh my God! how fucking hard is it to steam asparagus?! it takes like not even 5 minutes! and cream of asparagus soup is actually pretty easy. just saute a little onion in butter, add chicken stock. Then add chopped asparagus, raw. Puree once asparagus is tender add cream to thicken and add body, season with salt and pepper and garnish with asparagus tops.its a lot better than this cummy shit that she just made and probably cheaper and definitely has a lot more flavor.

  • is it really that hard to buy fresh asparagus?

  • holy cum buckets! er pots i guess..

  • I don't know what White Sauce is, but this doesn't look as bad as her other dishes. I'd try this. :-)

  • Okay why the fuck would she put the cut up asparagus into a pan with the broth, only to blend it, and then put it back into the pan again. A Nutritionist would have a field day with this bitch for the amount of cream she plopped in that pan for starters. Full of vitamins, my ass.

  • When Sandy Lee says "This is a great base..." you know you're in trouble.

  • CANNED white sauce?! How lazy can you get?!

  • A CAN OF WHITE SAUCE?!

  • @egyptianhorsie dude , you don't even know how to spell " asparagus " so i wouldn ' t be going " what 's so funny about asparagus blending quickly " if you don ' t like it , why would you even bother to watch it . retard . >_>

  • From the FROZEN section of the store? What kind of a supermarket doesn't have natural asparagus?!

  • wait if the sauce was just cream, flour, and butter why didn't she just take those ingredients seperately and added them one by one? I would have been fresher, tastier, and not THAT time consuming it'll just add another 5 minutes to the cooking process. Also I myself so use frozen veggies but only if it's out of season the point where it cost an arm and a leg per pound

  • Why would you destroy asparagus like that

  • Does the lady eat what she makes her whole show is a fail

  • .... bitch must be joking. Please tell me this bitch is joking.

  • i was like, "alright, this isn't so horrible..." and then canned white sauce? seriously?

  • Guess what I won't be eating ever. Just guess.

  • @TheLizzifer everything she makes?

  • Fuhlavor is a new word she invented along with Aqwereyum, Strawerburries, Duh lishess. oh a pinch of pepper is not the 1/2 teaspoon you put in there u dumb cooze. what a fucking idiot, if I had the money id pay a stage hand to ram a hot pan across her empty skull during a taping and leak it to the internet so we can laugh like we did at pork queen paula dean taking a ham to her fat fuckin jowels, HEY Y'ALL I'M BATSHIT CRAZY I LOVE BUTTER AND MARRIED KENNY ROGERS!

  • The sound the cream made when it came out of the can is the same noise I made when I saw the end result.

  • woh I didn't know white sauce came in a can, that's kinda gross I'll just easily make my own.

  • if she had cream already why didnt she just make a freiken white sauce herself! GAH!

  • I swear this lady is high. Theres nothing funny about esparagus being blended up fast.

  • @egyptianhorsie Dude its so obvious, she's drunk ALL THE TIME.

  • @egyptianhorsie

It makes sense. Everything tastes better when your high!

  • Ugh, isnt the whole idea of soup to eat healthily?

  • No.

  • I'm surprised she didnt put any liquor in this recipe.

  • all that fucking cream. my arteries clog up just by watching this

  • No kidding! If she eats this stuff all the time I bet she has a regular weekly lipo appointment! Probably gets her boobs rotated and air pressure checked while she's there too.

  • did she say "whizz" everything together? what is she, 12?

  • She bought white sauce, she fucking bought white sauce. It's butter flour and milk. You don't even need that much to thicken something. And my god all that cream,it would be healthier to eat soup out of a can.

  • Word. She's so fucking trifling. There are shortcuts, valid ones, and then there is just being fucking trifling and useless.

  • frozen asparagus and all that cream - this is why americans are so fat.

  • Use fresh if it's available. Using frozen is NOT necessarily more practical. Don't listen to this bony-assed cow.

  • I agree - especially when it's asparagus that needs no extra preparation than cutting off the woody base and washing. Plus, fresh asparagus cooks in only 4 minutes anyway.

No, it's the can (ich) of white sauce that is bothering me. I've never in all my born days added that to such a small amount of soup. Add more veg/less stock if you want it thicker. Just a way of adding unnecessary calories/fat/flour.

  • more cream!

  • Frozen Asparagus, YUCK
