  • omfg

  • look at the smile on drummer face. he must of spottd a couple of young ones in the crowd.

  • They are still cuties up to this day! Loved them as a teen! They still make me smile....brings me back to a simpler time. Thanks for posting!

  • was this with the first singer ?

  • I had this LP, and I played it so much I'm surprised the vinyl didn't go smooth.

  • @MajorBlaster My sister also had it...twice, becasue the grooves DID go flat. I found it on CD and purchased it...grew up hearing it, so it seems natural to have it in my collection. And yes, I play it quite often.

  • those pants rule!

  • Ha ha on you. I grew up in the 1970s. Oh, to be 14 again! Sorry love, but I'm almost old enough to be your Grandmother.

Derek was my absolute favorite Roller (well, they were all "cute"). As a rule drummers are WAY more sexy than guitarists.

  • @lajmh thoughs were the days

  • the BCRs hit #28 in Billboard, 6-12-76. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • This tune, and KISS shout it loud,AEROSMITH sick as adog,QUEEN my best friend.

    These’re all of me.

  • This is such a great record. Also, covered by The Records of "Starry Eyes" fame from the UK in the late 70s

  • What many people don't understand is that in most of these television appearances, it was *required* that the artists lip-synch...at least at that time.

  • @Jules91961 It seems that miming is far more common today than it was in the 1950s, 1960s, or 1970s, though on certain shows (like Hollywood a Go-Go, Ready Steady Go, Beat Club, and Disco) it was happened regularly.

  • my boys i love them

  • One of the best pop songs ever, and Les was just soooo cute! I still love plaid.

  • This video makes me wish I grew up in the 70s instead of the 90s, lol

  • B-A-Y, B-A-Y,

    B-A-Y, C-I-T-Y,

    With an R-O-double-L, E-R-S,

Bay City Rollers are the best!

    Eric, Derek, Woody too,

    Alan, Leslie, we love you,

    With an R-O-double-L, E-R-S,

Bay City Rollers are the best!

  • @19florydory00

derek, eric alan we love you

les and woody yeah we feel the same way too

you're making all our dreams come true

bay city rollers we love you!

  • @19florydory00 what i had against the BCRs..is if you plenty of talent..you dont need any lame gimics

  • "till my jeans explode" - some would take another connotation in that - no wonder the teeny bopper girls loved this band

  • This song was written by Tim Moore.

  • I used to love these guys. It's so nice to take this trip down memory lane. Where did the time go?

  • You know, I just thought about this, these young lads looked fine in their pants and all but can just imagine how fine they'd have looked all decked out in the full kilt and all. Dear God, I think I'd have faiinted for sure! Ain't nothing better for a girl's heart than a healthy young Scottish lad in a kilt.

  • Perfect power pop record. As Nick Lowe said in 1976 "going to see the Rollers" Pure Pop For Now People.

  • I want that big purple DISCO sign in the back...

  • Can you imagine the notariety and money the BCR would've gotten in this era of `Boy Bands'

  • HA HA HA I watch this to make myself feel better about my amatuerish music. at least I will never hit this low.

  • This song is pure rock and rock candy heaven!! Sweet as cotton candy!

Oops! My jeans just exploded! Yes!

  • im gunna drive my 74 caprice into A wall at 80mph so i can go back to the 70s

    AWESOME BAND

  • Piesne zo 70 a 80 rokov nič nenahradí. Sú to super piesne, ktoré majú výborný text a najlepšiu hudbu. Dajú sa počúvať donekonečna, a aj tak sú stále super.Ľudmila - Slovakia.

  • Wow! I never realized how homely these guys were! Blah!!

  • @MrGetabrain fuck off

  • I USED TO FIT INTO A WHITE PAIR OF PANTS LIKE THAT !!!

  • Hard to believe these guys were left with nothing after it was over.

I heard the drummer is a male nurse

  • Did I mention that I never I tire of this song?

  • Screw Dethklok, this is Rock and Roll!

  • The first 4 lines of lyrics were always a mystery to me. Thank goodness for lyrics on the net. And this HAS to be the most amazing HOOK of any chorus ever written, as well as an amazing guitar lick. And the "crash" at 2:02 is a brilliant touch to increase energy in the song. This song still stands up today- my 2 girls love this.

  • wanna hear a remix of BCR...type in the 3wsoundcloudDOTcom/bullet77fh

  • Wow I hadn't heard this song since the 70's but remembered every word. Guess there was a reason I wore out my albums.

  • I loveeeeeeeeeeee these guys since I was a little girl! They were one of the best! Sooo a big part of the 70's:) I have saved all their albums:)

  • Bubblegum Gods..Looks like a department store they're playing here...

  • Lame song from a lame "heavily manufactured BOY band" who sound so bad live they have ta pipe in the recording. Listen ta Les now-he should of quit smoking when he was 18, he sounds like someone sandpapered his throat..........or perhaps, too many men alread have, if ya know what I mean

  • I love the Bay City Rollers-I have since I first saw them before Alan left in 1976 and I always will-but I ADORE Pat McGlynn!!!

  • I agree with zeke78218, an awesome trip down memory lane. I miss these guys. Had a huge crush on Leslie & Eric. :-)

  • BuckSuger says no to the Bay City Rollers. They were the pioneers of the Boy Band Phenomena that has infested today's music industry.

This is Schlock at it's best (or worst if you will)

I can imagine their manger being a Reuben Kincaid-type, one who pimps their services to anyone with $25 dollars in their wallet.

BuckSugar gives this song and video a C, as in Claptrap. I've eaten stale rice cakes that were more satisfying!

  • @buck62sugar >>> well Bucksuger Kristie Brewer and 100's of other Roller says YES to The Bay City Rollers

  • i wore their t shirt to radio station the other day!! xxx

  • @bolanbabe ... You have a shirt still Lucky

  • WHERE DID THIS GROUP DISAPEER TO?????

  • 605,119 views WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is weird thing about bay city rollers...they could of been great. more songs like this would of helpd.

  • By far, one of the best pop songs ever. Perfection. THIS is teenage rock and roll!!!!!!!

  • do the bys have families maried or ?? humm

  • i agree i wish it was 1976 good times good music;;

  • @purselady2 I believe this was from 1977, b4 Pat was removed from the band and right b4 It's A Game was released.

  • ya , wish they were still around . I am walking down memory lane this morning , LOVE IT

  • loved them in 70s was in fan club and still have records good clips

  • Fantastic band, really good quality video:)

  • LOvE, LOVE LOVE IT!!!

  • Did I understand part of the lyrics to say "until my jeans explode"?????? OMG LOL!

  • @curvygirl813

That would be "genes", not jeans. The verse talks about his heritage. He's thanking his parents.

  • Best video quality I've ever seen of a BCR video. Saw Les in concert last Friday. Still looks and sounds fantastic!

  • Great video I love it!!!!

  • With was always my favorite of theirs.

  • I agree 100% with you TheDrumWolf!

  • Those guitars aren't even plugged in...

  • @Thirdgen83

    F#@@&%^^$CK YOU!!!

  • @Thirdgen83

how the F*##*&&%K would YOU know asshole

  • That crowd's on downers.....always these German shows. Gawd. Even in OKC, we tore the place up.

  • When I was you girl, I loved them so much.

  • hey thedrumwolf...totally agree with you..really miss these guys

  • Bubble gum music at its best. Pure musical candy bliss!

  • Wot is the audience doing??????? not much by the look of them. I luv this song and Les looks great in tight white jeans.........aagghh

  • love it!

  • How damn boring was the crowd in this video!!

  • Oh man to go back to those days before, the realities of REAL LIFE happened, LOL. Must say, as a young girl i loved there music, but i was hot for Shaun Cassidy. Funny looking back now as a grown woman, Les was one hot piece of........(: I'd do him,LOL.

  • Les sure sounds frikkin' grEEEET! Kinda, sorta cute, too..wink wink :)

  • Pat was in a centerfold with just the scarf too, I have it if anyone's interested.

  • 1976- I was a waaaay mature 11 year old; LOL. This guys rocked my world. And, fair dinkum- still sound great

  • Harry high pants!

  • This is a great song. I loved BCR back in the day and still love listening to them. but does anyone else think that maybe Les is Orlando Bloom's long lost daddy??? hehehehe both british ya know

  • @Rumz98 Some of us have wondered about the Orlando Bloom thing, LOLLOL....

  • OMG...I wuz in luff wit this song..!!!!!!!

  • My fave bands are Rush, Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, etc but I like the BCR. Like what you like because you like it. Don't like what you are supposed to like simply to appear cool. BCR had good, tight pop/rock tunes...enough said.

  • Those were the days......fun songs and fun times!

  • wow

  • i still love them !!!!

  • Anyone else remember Pat in the Centerfold of 16 Magazine wearing nothing but a long scarf?

  • @trevor40 That was Woody :-) Don't know exactly how I remember that since I'm a heterosexual male, but I do... :-0

  • @haj1909

It was Pat who was wearing just a scarf in the centerfold of 16 Magazine--probably june or july 1977. You might be extra heterosexual :-)

  • @haj1909 I remember Woody in that nekkid scarf shot, LOL.....

  • To The DrumWolf:

Hi, I also feel like going back to 1976, when I was 9 and although I couldn't understand English at all since I'm Japanese, and yet deeply got

addicted to BCR! Their songs are all sooo good!!

  • Hit #28 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in Scotland, the boys' homeland? God bless!

  • Not often you see footage with Pat. Nice find

  • I was the only girl in 5th grade who knew anything about Scotland. Didn't make me cool, btw. LOL

  • OMG...cuffed bell-bottoms at 1:07...used to wear them in high School!

  • 懐かしい!!!

    クチパクだけど^^;

    エリック ウッディ レスリー デレク(?)兄弟

    みんなステキだから許しちゃう^^

  • They have toned down on the tartans here. Nice pants, though : D

  • @TheDeanoone

What a homophobic little twit you are!

If you knew anything about the Rock N Roll of the '50s you'd understand the nostalgia...

ah, today's youth; your ignorance is so poignantly sad!!

Ya right, Nobody thinks "Vampire Weekend - A-Punk" is totally GAY!!!!

    Go Bonk Edward !

  • Hey, hey now...no need to bring Vampire Weekend into this. I love both bands and I am only 19, so you can't say that the youth of today are ignorant just because of one person's tasteless comment.

  • yup they are such fags, having sex with a bunch of women.

  • jealous are you? if you dislike them so much, why are you looking at their videos? Yea, that's what I thought.....

  • Maybe you could look and see what comment I responded to originally. I forgot people on youtube don't get sarcasm.

  • @TheT4xid3rmist who gives a rats arse they can sing.

  • Someone failed a a sarcasm class. I blame youtube cause it no longer shows how you replied to someone unless you add the @ symbol.

  • @TheT4xid3rmist @ok so you are not saying they are fags.

  • Mercifully, they've toned down the some what cheesy over the top plaid look here.

    Great power pop song .here

  • wow this was a trip down memory lane, I absolutely loved them, hadn't thought much about them until a recent conversation with a friend I hadn't seen for years.

  • Bay City Rollers-úžasná muzika která mě vrací zpět do mládí.Skvělé,skvělé skvělé!!!!!!!!!

  • I really used to love them - posters on the walls - Lps - the works. Still love to listen to some songs - especially this one. BUT some video clips are really hilarious now.

    Thanks for this one though!!!

  • This song was popular back in my freshman year of 1975. Long time ago and simpler times for all.

  • I just read that Tam Paton died in April '09 and was leaving his millions to animal charities and whatnot... I thought he would have given it back to the Rollers...what a shame

  • WOW!! A friend reminded me tonight about these guys. We loved hem so much back then. Wore plaid and all. Thanks for the memories.

  • I don't like them very much, but they're better than Britney or Beyonce.

  • disco rock

  • My first favorite band....Great group of guys. Brilliant performance. Too bad they are not around any more.

Thanks for the memories growing up in the 70's.

  • I was so in love with the Bay City Rollers when I was 15! My dad took me, my sister and a friend to see them when they were at Carowinds. I will never forget it! It was the most thrilling moment of my life and one of the happiest memories I have as a child! By the way.....Les and Woody were my faves!

  • @tamiegirl1962 I found this comment because I googled BCR at Carowinds. I was at that concert. It was my first concert. My grandparents got season passes for me and my aunt every year. We would camp in the campground and my aunt was 10 yrs older than me and loved BCR. One of my first memories was seeing Les and Woody waving from their bus as we sat on the grassy hill by the RV lot. I still have mine and my aunts LPs of It's a Game. So cool to see your comment.

  • this is some great power pop.

  • People like you should stay off of the BCR's sites. Fans don't want to see your rude, regative opponions. Moron.

  • Music just hasn't been the same since they quit playing music on AM radio. FM is in stereo, but todays music sucks. Kinda miss my old top 40 mono AM station.

  • Oh my gosh! These guys were so awesome! I had posters of them plastered all over my walls, I met them when they were in my city in concert! My best friend Laura and I made plaid outfits and scarfs and wore them to the concerts! My favs were Ian and Derek. I still have a scrapbook I made of them. I will cherish the memories!

  • The best way to describe the Bay City Rollers: in quick, out quick. At the height of their success they rivaled the Beatles and Rolling Stones but in America it only lasted one year, 1976. Their manager mishandled their finances so badly that by 1978 they were broke. They should have all been multi-millionaires. The band was especially popular in Japan.

  • I still luv their cute tushes in those plaid flood pants...lol 33 years later...my teen cousin got me into luving these guys when I was only 8 and visited Scotland, 2 years b4 they even came 2 N.America!

  • I love the Bay City Rollers. I wish that it was 1976 again. Who's with me on that?

  • Amen to that!

  • Definitely with you . . bring back 1976 anytime when I had one of the best times of my life !

  • I'm with you!

  • @TheDrumWolf i sooo wish it was 76.. and know wot i know now

  • @streatleyred they were all faggots fucked by big TAM, So you must be 1 2.

  • @michaelwright999

takes one to know one michaelwright

  • @TheDrumWolf I AM .. MY 1ST CONCERT 1977 IOWA STATE FAIR THE BAY CITY ROLLERS

  • @TheDrumWolf amen

  • @TheDrumWolf .. me!! lol

  • @TheDrumWolf Well, I'm halfway there. This is a good bubblegum tune though - good hooks.

  • @TheDrumWolf NOOO, THE 80'S! I WANT TO LIVE THE 80'S AGAIN!!!

  • @WINGSLOVESMUSIC NOOOO, 80's music corrupted the music from the 70's I think & that's my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I like alot of 80's music but none of it can compare to music created in the 70's, that was a magical time for rock music & music in general. Can you dig it?

  • Hi there, just wanted to let all the Rollers fans out there know about the forthcoming Rollermania box set released on October 4th on Salvo / Union Square Music. 81 tracks and a 36 page booklet - hope you enjoy it.

  • Les is retiring next year.Last fan fest is in Savannah Ga July 24 2010. This is his only North American show. Last time to hear the voice live.

  • Scottlands Hottest Imports.

  • rollermania for ever

  • here's my rock n roll love letter, ooh baby, we're the Archies without Betty and Veronica! That's right- no icky girls!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh
