There is a blunder in the circular channel. IIrc, you just have to talk to anywhere in the screen without having Sophia with you to engage this bug. You will then talk to her, eventhough she is still trapped in the cage. She doesn't answer, but the script goes through all the dialog.
Well, there are some different versions of the game, but I don't think that's the reason. There were 3 different paths in this game, so maybe you didn't play through the game on every path. The wax cat I had didn't contain a key so it was useless.

2. In Team, you can "touch" Sophia in the darkness of the dig site. One of the things she might say is, "Is that a ship rib in your pocket or are you happy to see me?" LOL!
But they have been put fully purposefully to the game. I tried to show funny stupidities, that are in the game because of errors, carelessness or laziness/hurry during the programming of this game.

You can still easily find and dl a demo version. However, you probably can only play the beginning of the game in the demo.
There're still some real Lucasarts classics on sale, like the original Sam & Max. Don't bother to search classics from the LucasartsStore... all the 3 games on sale they call "classics" seem to be from this millenium (eg. KotOR1) -.-
(btw, you demonstrate that i'm a complete loser because i didn't know you can use the eel on the crab pool and re-use the jar full of water to re-fill it, what happens if you don't fill the jar first? Hope you can always pick some water from the canal.)
Uh... watch closer. The pool doesn't get refilled with the jar, and you cannot even take that amount of water back to the jar that you pour there. It gets automatically refilled when you re-enter the room.

Apart from pouring water in the machine, you can also pour gasoline - if you filled the jar a second time at the Dig Site :)
By the way, how did you beat Hans in a fistfight - I've been trying for years and never succeeded.
