The thing that turns me off for this game is its difficulty. It's not hard per se, but, as you said, you might not win even if you are far ahead. If a player is skilled enough to blow away the competition at the highest difficulty, let him win. They shouldn't have programmed the computers to shoot three blue shells at you on the final lap.
I completely agree with you Wii controls suck the only game that they work for is Galaxy , however it is important to wipe front to back otherwise you can get you're underwear dirty. I am not pointing any fingers but there is no need to get lazy and leave brown on the toilet paper, if you slack off things can get messy.
Yeah, why haven't you given me your friend code yet?! xD
Great video. I prefer the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, it has the same functionally of the Gamecube controller (with steering by the control stick), but you don't have to let go of the control stick just to trick (which can be a bit of a pain).
For me, I actually prefer the Gamecube-game, well, that and the ds! The game on wii just.. I dont know, it doesnt feel as good ^^ I feel that it punish you a bit too much if youre good at the game, and help you too much if youre not as good :/
But of course, its still a really fun game to play! and its really great that you dont have to use the wheel to drive, that would've driven me nuts ^^
Another great game review. I love using the steeling wheel on this game. One of my favorites on the Wii. Very fun title!! Mario party 8 was great too.
Like a lot of people, I think the 64 version is simply unbeatable when it comes to overall playability. The DS one is basically as good as that except the characters are actually 3D instead of sprites :D
I've got some tall bar stools from the kitchen that I use but you're right, it can be a bit hard on the neck. usually play a lot of games standing or on an angle.
I really enjoy your videos, Ive watched almost all of them. I was wondering if you had ever considered getting rid of the massive shelving units and large cabinet for one longdesk with shelving above it? Then you could put all your systems in one area along with the games and have a pc/workstation/tvsetup below. One side could be your arcade cabinets while the other side could be shelving and desk. Just a thought. :)
It does REALLY suck (IMO) when you're forced to steer with the Wii controller. You need that feel of a maximum in a driving game... otherwise you're turining your arms too far and not doing any good turning any sharper, then you've got your arms all retarded-like and then overcorrect when you straighten out... Maybe I'm a noob, but... Not a fan of the steering-wheel crap. GCN controller wins every time.
Agreed. I amost think that you're better off staying back a few positions and then at the end pulling ahead but by doing that, you can't gain any stars for ranking and therefore can't unlock shit. it's pretty rough and unfair at times.
this game is alot better than sega all stars racing

I have played a little of this game. Reminds me of Mario Kart on the N64. They did add in some new shit to the game, but that just makes it cooler.

Is that your new or old Wii?
ScrewAttackEurope 2 years ago
Thats the new Wii that I put up in my games room. the one that I bought all those parts for. IT works out pretty good.

Sweet!!!
Must admit I'm not as much a fan of later Mario Kart games as they don't rely on skill and more on total luck.
And when i'm miles out in front on the final lap about to finish the race, some bastard will always blue shell me and put me in 4th.
I wish you could just turn off all that rubber banding bullshit.

Indeed, I agree with it helping you with catch-up if you're doing badly, but no way should it punish you for doing so well.
You also had rivals in the original SMK, but later ones it seems totally random.
