my feelings are the same for vegans. The water wastage to produce crops is huge. The crops cows and sheep feed on is scrub so low water usage

@geofffrank You're comment makes no sense.. Not only do pigs, cattle and chickens need water to live, but they crops they eat also need the same water you are talking about.

The simple truth is that 1lb of beef requires like 20x or 10x the amount of gasoline to produce as vegetable crops. So that is producing water, feed, etc. and shipping it to the store. It is 20x more expensive from a carbon, or whatever unit you want to compare, because animals eat a lot of food to put on weight.

@sifterjoe Go to a field, find a cow eating grass. What is the wastage of water there? Would the people of peta eat that grass? well a meat eater indirectly does because they eat the thing that eats the grass. If you then take in the other factor of intensive feeding with human made feeds, then yes, that does waste alot of water. What about a slab of soil for tomatoes that has a constant flow of water through it to allow crops to absorb feed faster. The runoff of that is huge.

@geofffrank also, petrol is not what the video is making a point of, it is talking about water, hense the whole shower thing. strawman argument there then. In the UK alot of farmers take pride in being able to say the meat is local, not forced etc. and so animals (particularly cows and sheep, the most consumed meats) feed off scrub, and not put on intense feeds etc. so the only water wastage is purely what they drink, rather than the huge amount wasted in the production of crops.
