@kizz2468 They look like Dynasty P01-DFS14 or P01-DFST14, best bet is to go direct to dynasty to avoid middleman prices etc, or go one step better and get a Premier HTS 400, 700 or 800, much better sounding ;P Pearl or Adante are also world renowned HTS Drums

I marched in one of the best college drumlines in the country alongside several members of the Cadets, Carolina Crown, Glassmen, BAC, and Spartans (UMass Snareline '02 - '05). The Cadets I marched with won High Drums at DCI finals 3 of the 4 years I marched with them. I used to live with Colin McNutt (current percussion caption head for the Cadets and 1992 I&E Tenors Champion).

I'd say I'm qualified to comment. Are you?

Considering the fact that it is a face-off (which I doubt that you even understand the fact that hitting the rim is a rim shot no matter what.) Also if you had the common courtesy to avert thine eyes from other Drumlines or drummers that would be great. And you probably don't even know what going on in the drummers' heads in the video

@DasGrimmReaper I was in the snare line all 4 years. Co-section leader my senior year. And since then, I've been arranging music for both UMass's battery AND pit.

To play a rim shot, the stick has to make contact with the rim AND the head simultaneously. Accidentally missing the drum head and hitting the rim (because you flailing around uncontrollably doing stick tricks) is not the same as intentionally executing a rim shot.

that was awful. when they played together, it was dirty. when they played by themselves, they hit the rims more than the drums. all "vibe", no quality. If they played the drums half as well as they made faces at the audience, they might have been alright.

If you were listening to them with your ears instead of with your eyes, you would have noticed that when they're doing all their little tricks, they miss the drum head half the time and hit the rims. And their rhythmic integrity goes completely out the window whenever they're doing a trick.

I'm sure both of these guys played somewhat better when they marched BD, but they're terrible in this video.
