I can't help but notice the challenge is gone if you get rapid fire from the gun and not skill. Also letting you stand so close to the screen is just basically letting you aim without the old flash gun skill. A great series that has died thanks to modern day losers who want everything for them the easy way be it a game or real work.

The Giant Sloth was a pain and was pretty cheap. There is a trick to beating him in the arcade. Which is where this game is obviously lol. Ya HOTD 3 was a little unfair with some of the bosses that you could beat after dieing 1 or 2 times so basically spending at least 5 dollars on the game was a must, but a machine gun is just really cheap imo and unfair imo.

No challenge is directed towards the machine gun in the game HOTD 4. Cheap and unfair some of the bosses in HOTD 3 were. The sloth from what I was told from others is impossible to not get hit by at least 2 times in the home version and in the arcade he was but it required insane trigger action. Two points you got mixed up together. Sorry for the confusion.

There are plenty of arcade games that have machine guns as the default weapon and that has no effect on their difficulty. And I love pulling the trigger, but the massive amounts of enemies that require several hits to bring them down in House of the Dead are too much for me to squeeze off every bullet that I need to fire.
