@radioboy75 A flag denotes sovereignty/nationhood. When the state banner was designed the memories of the Civil war were still fresh in consciousness of the state. Having a flag was too reminiscent of the position of the Southern states. The banner is a symbol of the state without infringing on the meaning of the US flag.
The banner is a composite of symbols. The French Tricolor because we were part of the Louisiana Purchase, The American Eagle, with the streamer having Iowas motto.
The speed of the song is not the same as the speed of which the slides change.
