@DIGFOOL I always thought of it as saying things you can't take back. For instance with someone you know so well your mind just kind of flows freely when you're speaking with them and eventually you say something they can't ignore and you can't take back.

But that's probably just a habit of mine projecting itself onto this song. :P

@anon2999 cant really say the true meaning of any MM song. for example, night on the song has been interpreted as being about drugs. it has also been enterpreted as a love song. it leaves som much open so u can relate to all the songs and apreciate the meaning even if he wrote for something else.

Modest Mouse folklore says this is the first Ugly Casanova collaberation. And there are 2 shorter versions of "Whenever" however they're remixes and not nearly as epic.

I got my copy some years ago from amazon but itunes has this version and a couple remixes (which are actually pretty nice) for $4.
