  • Has the same feel as the Beatles' - Get Back !! Which came first ??

  • Namaste. The Perennial Philosophy presented in song; the Path presented in a Blues-Naad Yoga format (whew). Too good. 420! Namaste.

  • WHY DOES THE GOVERNMENT GET THIS !? LIKE ALL OFF THEM. ({:>( . COME ON NOW PEOPLE!!!!

  • brilliant live version great band wow!!

  • This song was played on my local AM station when it was new.

  • WHERE DID C.H COME FROM

  • Good pickin', they were lost in the LA Scene with The Doors, Hendrix and all the "Names" of the time. CCR and how many others?

  • I miss my 8-track!!

  • I love the enthusiasm the bassist has

  • this song should be the National Anthem.

  • Why aren't these guys in the R&R Hall of Fame? By the way, I think a very convincing argument could be made that Alan Wilson was the greatest musician to ever play Rock.

  • You've got to have a band where you have a fat lead singer in the middle, a long-haired bass player on the left bouncing his head up and down and a slide guitarist on the right who just stands there and plays.

  • @poughkeepsiejohn1 Looks weren't important back then as u can c. Oh, how I miss those days & the great music.......& the drugs, love, sex........

  • Wow! What a great performance of my favorite Canned Heat song. It makes me happy every time I see it. Thanks.

  • even sad, Alan is always adorable !

  • Correction: that's rock and rolls' version of Delta blues. Still, it kicks ass.

  • I love Wilson's slide playing. The studio version where his amp is fully cranked has some of the most thrilling guitar playing there is.

  • Ah Here and Farng pledged to work together and always will

  • They look like the idea that Blues Traveler ripped off.

  • Gee, that sounds like socialism! Horrible! Lets work to acquire as much wealth as possible for yourself and to hell with everyone else. That might be tough to put into a song but maybe ted nugent can put that together.

  • If anybody out there recalls the Blue Law club in Los Angeles...(Nr the Harbor area)....I saw these guys fire upthe place...a few times...^/^

  • i wonder why Vito has two bass drums :P

  • I love how the guitar player is strictly business when he plays

  • @paulbdd

    Alan Wilson. THE MAN!

  • @paulbdd

Alan Wilson... AND it's not strictly business it's fuckin PASSION!

  • thanks bro for this, we sure could do with some of this here in england right now, regards wolf 1%

  • Sweet Jesus where are you CH? America could use another dose of this right now. Come on people make someone smile today!

  • wrote history with these lyrics!!!!

  • Saw these guys many times..Great band, sadly, Fito is the only one left. The Bear,The Sunflower, The Mole, and Fito and others. Vestine,Mandrel etc.

  • Harvey Mandel on second guitar?

  • This song was 40 years ago no.37 in the german year-end-charts #canned #heat

  • Blind Owl is the man

  • at one time pop music met popular music .. that's what it was catigorigized as .. now it's just a certain type of comerical crap but back then it covered a wide spectrum .. didn't have the same meaning as it does today led zeppelin was on the pop charts .. bad company ... these guys ..the beatles. . i mean freaking bands!..

  • Awesome song - Vintage Blues/ Rock Fusion !!!

  • Excellent!!! .. saw them at Lanchester Polytechnic circa 1975/6 in Coventry UK (now Coventry University) .. my God! this brings it all back .. many many thanks Wilbyhilby.

  • Ten million points

  • Even hunching and head bobbing he's still towering over the rest of the band lol, I love these guys

  • W T F vintage pop!!!!

    It's hell music!

    Heroin Rock Blues

  • Wow Hagrid rocks!

  • One of my favorite classic / southern rock songs ... brings me right back to the trailer park of my youth...

  • Watching Canned Heat sure brings backs some fond memories. They say if you can remember the 60s you weren't really there. Trust me...Some things you never forget ! Thanks for uploading this vid.

  • because of you wilbyhilbly, I will be playing this number at a spanish fiesta on sat/19

cheers for this, have a good life!!!!!!

  • @alham809 Have a great time and I hope it all goes well

  • yeah!!! jamie shane !! (wink)

  • when did underground blues turn into pop...i missed somthing

  • good to see it was actually performed live......1st concert I ever went to was a Canned Heat show in Wheeling WV

  • @tourofduty122 not the blind owl... the dude on the slide in the back

  • Bob hite kicks ass and the guitarist here sucks...

  • Bryan Ferry should be ashamed - ripping this song off down to a tee. Can barely hear the difference between this and Let's stick together. Pfft.

  • what year was this filmed?

  • 3rd January 1970

  • @wilbyhilbly Thanks for this. Awesome!

  • @wilbyhilbly somewhere over and past that last star on the left the heat might still be rocking on . . .

  • @wilbyhilbly i saw them with james gang in 1973 at the denver collisium, and i am just tickled pink to see them again! i remember this big guy singing and when he would bounce around like that, the whole stage would bounce! next concert was leon russle and joe cocker, but that's another story :)

  • @wilbyhilbly Sadly Al Wilson would pass away exactly 8 months after this was taped. He died on September 3, 1970 from a drug overdose at only 27. Bob Hite would pass away in 1981 at only 36 from heart failure. Canned Heat was a hell of a band, that's for sure.

  • hoooooooooo great amplifiers orange beautyfull great band the bears of blues

  • I wonder where that Gold Top LP is today. NICE JAM!!!

  • these guys rocked!fito is the only one left but he turned the band into a bunch of AA losers!imho.

  • they boogie down in torrence (CA) too.

  • Did fat kill Blind Al Wilson too?

  • Suicide from dope.

  • i read that the Bear died of a heroin overdose after a gig in the early 80s at the Palomino Club. all of the heat is gone now except for Fito and maybe one of the bass players.

  • He had a heart attack

    He was extremely FAT!

    Musicians never use illegal drugs.

Don't spread rumors about a great Fat Shit musician.

    FAT kills people!

Drugs cure people! I LUV OPIATES!

Until I run out...Then it's HELL ON EARTH!

Just say NO! Give them to me! No speed or coke please...I'm too hyped up.

    cya

    TBD

  • Musicians never use illegal drugs? are you mental?

  • Bear did die of drugs but it was a Speed Ball (heroin and speed). And I believe you are right on who is still around. I grew up with Bear's youngest son who died the same way his dad did Mick.

  • it's crazy that such good rockin folks go way before their time. the heat is one of my all time favorite bands (the old heat, not the "vintage" version). i saw them twice in Denver, CO. do you happen to know where the Bear is buried? you cannot find the location anywhere on the internet. don't forget to boogie.

  • On April 5th, 1981 at the Palomino in Los Angeles, gargantuan vocalist Bob Hite collapsed and died of a heart attack. The Bear still boogies with us onstage in our hearts, and for now, we offer this tribute site to celebrate his memory. Thank You for visiting.

  • @Mygamejw thank you for posting the tribute .. sad loss .. hope he was a happy sole !! RIP bear and his son !!

  • Your Very Welcome.

  • a speedball is heroin and coke!these guys rocked though!

  • Love the Blind Owl's Gold Top Les Paul! This is my favorite video of Canned Heat on YouTube. Thanks!!

  • Thats not (vintage pop) thats freaking rock and roll!

  • Vintage pop, only an idiot can call this music like this. That's the blues. And if you're american, you can be proud. Because thats the land who made a lot of talented blues man, and also with Africa the land who made the Blues.

  • @ROM12086com Pero también los norteamericanos, maltrataron y segregaron a la gente de color y al Blues. Los ingleses primero respetaron y tocaron el Blues llevandolo al mundo entero.

  • @ROM12086com exactly what I was thinking. Great music but very far from being "pop". An insult to this great music to call it pop...

  • punch drunk on quality finger pickin'

  • God bless Canned Heat!!!!! God bless America!!!!!

  • Nice to see the entire video and not have the count in cut off. I love this "live on tape" version. Great stuff here. This was January 1970 if I recall correctly. That lead guitar player was stoned out of his mind, wasn't he? Beat Club was the best for great current music of all kinds. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

  • The video is not as sunny as you think.Instead, it is ominous for Canned Heat.

Hite had put on too much weight. He had become morbidly obese.

But an even more dangerous foe stalked Al Wilson. His on stage demeanor reflects deep depression. He looks catatonic .This had nothing to do with drugs-everything to do with emotional illness.

Depression would lead to Wilson`s suicide.Obesity to Hite`s death.

    Sad.Hite was a good lead singer.Wilson was a genius-one of America`s most talented Bluesmen.

  • I saw canned heat ( the remaining members )

At 40th anniversary of summer of love at golden gate park 2007, and at the heroes of woodstock tour just this past summer. What a blast! FITO on the drums!

  • What a pity Alan "blind owl" Wilson isn't alive today. One great white Blues picker so underappreciated. Gone to Blues Heaven with all the other great. R.I.P Bob and Al.

  • Elegant, understated slide guitar work by the Blind Owl, Alan Wilson. I agree --- VERY underrated.

  • de verdad,musicos de a de veras

  • Esta canción es todo un clasico, ojala hoy en dia, hubiera artistas como estos, en lo cual importa su calidad de musica.

  • check out the orange half stacks this is classic

  • Larry Taylor, the best head nodder ever. Love the old Orange amps in action. Great clip.

  • Vintage BEAUTIFUL....Thank you

  • Because Kragen understands every car, truck, wagon, or van!

  • i love this stuff, it's just so great

  • Nice! This clip has the intro with the count in. This was live on Musikladen 3rd January, 1970. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • Wspaniały utwór, można słuchać na okrągło...
