  • Are you kidding me. Are you really trying to compare Detriot and N.J. to Napoli. Thats retarded. At least you have a fully functioning goverment, something that most neapolitan cities including my own San Cipriano D'Aversa dont have because of camorra infiltration. Im sure parts of N.J. and Detriot are bad, but those are just moulinyans(niggers)shooting eachother in the street, not multi billion dollar organized crime families killing for power and controll. US gov't would never let this go down

  • Go read Gomorrah by roberto saviano before you idionts go making ignorant declarations

  • This movie is more reality than reality television. It is a great movie, you dont have to like it but at least recognize its social significance. This stuff does not happen just anywhere. The camorra is a daily part of neapolitan life. They have infiltrated every aspect of society and government, something american mobs and sicilian mobs have never accomplished on such a grand scale. The economy of napoli is controlled in large part by the camorra. Trust me i know im from San Cipriano D'aversa

  • its a movie not a documentary, get over it people. that takes place in every major city of the world.

  • @xxkram

Belive me, this movie is the thing more close to a documentary that has ever seen. Napoli is a world apart. Unfortunately.

  • @xxkram Nonsense. It's Naples is almost entirely maffia-run... And no, the things that happen in Naples do NOT happen in every major city. You'd be beyond ignorant to compare the black, low level gangs in NY to the Camorra in Naples... Or the living conditions in Harlem to those in Scampia/Le Vele.

  • @ParkLaneTottenham1 Thank you i'm from Naples and i know exactly what you mean i grew up in Scampia and our beatiful City is being destroyed by Gangsters

  • I'm from Naples and this pisses me off SO MUCH. This movie only shows one side of my poor exploited city, what the movie tells takes place in 2 suburban aweful areas of Naples. The majority of it has never seen anything like that. I hope people will be able to realize that.

  • @ombry oh great! now we can all rest easy. lol nobody gives a fuck about what part of naples is bad. the world is riddled with good and bad people, geography doesnt change shit

  • @Kelspir that was my point.

  • @ombry Look up videos of Detroit, Michigan and Camden, New Jersey and rest easy.

  • If you want to watch a great italian movie watch cinema paradiso,il postino or malena, not this one

  • 1 of the most overrated movies of all time,is not a bad movie but not a good one either, too slow and 99% of the action scenes are in the trailer, there are better italian movies such as cinema paradiso, malena ,il postino

  • What I can't understand is this; with the birth rate dropping, shouldn't the crime rate be dropping too?

  • i really liked the movie. it shows how trivial and terrible it really is.

just watch the original version with subtitles.

  • the narrator pisses me off

  • soooo fucking boring I hated it

  • @smswc I'm sorry if there wherent any Boom Kaboom Krash Space Alien Robots Kung Fu Terminator special effects....you see, we are really poor and can't afford to make movies such as Transformers.

Don't even know why it got in the nominees for best foreign movie...go figure that out.

  • @smswc Is too overrated,is not a bad movie but not a good one either

  • @DixanDash I think it's fair for me to judge you on a blatantly xenophobic and ignorant comment.

And yeah. have a nice day.

  • @DixanDash I'd rather resort to name calling than resort to judging an entire nation of millions of people based on a movie trailer. How retarded can one person be? Your ignorance and dim wittedness goes beyond anything I've come across before. You're a xenophobic nationalist, nothing more. Get a life, child.

  • @DixanDash South park was made for adults, It's aired after watershed periods and it's rated 18 (in the U.K). And a lot of video games are also aimed at adults, they're forms of entertainment just like movies, music, books etc

And I do have a job, and I am currently single (not that it's any of your business) I was in a serious relationship for four years before we broke it off. You judged an entire nation based on some stereotype you got from a movie trailer. You're beyond Ignorant.

  • @YomiTen its not the nation that is bad its napoli and other parts of douth italy that are extremely corrupt. If you went to Italy i guarantee your more likely to get robbed by a north african than a member of la camorra or any Italian for that matter

  • @bcw324 All the nation is rotten. Mafia rules in Northen Italy too (though it's less visible there) and it's obvious, because that's the richest area, with more business and money.

  • @sontag21 you are wrong. the mafia is a singular group that operates out of sicily. camorrah in napols and andrangata in calabria. there is organized crime everywhere but southern italy is by far more corrupt. you have see it for yourself. the northern italians are known to be hard working and more capitalist it makes sense they are richer. Italy was divided for 1500 years and as a result italy is extremely diverse in cultures.

  • @bcw324 Pretty naif to think this way. That fact that Northen Italy is far more developed doesn't mean that the mafias haven't taken control there. Cocaine market in Milan - a huge business - is under ndrangheta's control.

  • @sontag21 completely right.

  • @bcw324 that's mith, mafia comorra and ndragheta have control and power all over Italy, where the money goes so do they. True what you say about cultural differences, northern italy and southern are basically 2 different countries.

  • @DixanDash I'm British so I should condone stereotyping an entire country simply because it isn't mine? wow. How ignorant are you? And exactly how are videogames and south park clips childish? They're both made specifically for adults, if it was sponge bob you may have a point.

Your ignorance sickens me, grow up. Open your mind and realise you can't judge an entire nation based on what you've seen in movie trailers. How stupid can you be? Get outta here you fucking dimwit.

  • @DixanDash

ahh Europeans.........they watch our movies, listen to our music, and then hate on Americans. why? no one really knows, i guess they all think that we are all George Bush somehow or maybe they think that every single american likes to go to war and supports what their government is doing 100% of the time.....ahhh europeans, you want a stereotype? go sleep in your shitty homes without air conditioning

  • @kdude87

No air-conditioning?? In super wealthy EU?? U out of ur yankee mind?

So the rumors about ur low culture, and that u can't even find your country in a map, are true by chance??

From ur comment, it seems so!!

  • @novembrine1 To add something, just type average iq per country and you'll get a lot of funny results. Seems that america is really far down, between the 25th and 30th most intelligent. Italy somehow is between the 6th and the 8th....go figure that out!

  • @DixanDash great way to generalize an entire country. You're acting all intelligent and knowledgeable yet you're ignorant enough to dismiss an entire country based on a few stereotypes?

    Grow up child.

  • What does Martin Scorcese have to do with this movie?

  • @larrylen They're using his name to promote the movie, he has nothing to do with it

  • @DixanDash I'm from Canada. Actually, now that I think about it, it might be some one else. there was someone who really did do all the voices for trailers, but he died a year ago I think. In all honesty, it's just all the bullshit that makes it big here in the weskt. (disney channel, steven segual etc). I don't know why it's that stuff that goes world wide. you'll have to actually look deep into something to find the good stuff.

  • @DixanDash coming from the west, you never realize it's the same guy in every trailer. that and the first few narrations make the movie sound like stereotypical gangster flick.

  • this is (southern) Italy sirs, is not a fiction ...

  • Okay is that the way it was?

  • This is a perfect film. You have to be from Italy to truely appreciate it though. Reading the book first helps a lot too. Everything in this movie is true too.

  • At first I didn,t know what to think of this movie. Its very slow, even boring at times. But you have to watch a masterpiece a few times before you realize what it is. It,s slow, documentary kind of pace really covers up the underlying brutality of the film, until it hits you in the face. Reading the book first before watching is reccomandable

  • an interesting book.

  • haha i'm tony monatana!!

  • roberto savino is under ARMY protection

  • i am italian, i live in naples, i was born in the land of the camorra, in the place with more murder victims of EU...where everything have the flavor of a final battle...but i love my city, it's wonderful, so wonderful as dangerous FUCK

  • @EnzuccioBananaTost So, how realistic is this movie? Isnt it a littel bit to much?

  • @ceesoddens bro certainly i'm not one of those who want to look as hard saying came from a particular city,I'm ashamed of what happens in my city,I can tell you some statistics on Naples (and province): unemployment rate highest in Italy; first in Italy

for thefts and robberies; first in EU for murder victims 4000 in the last 30 years.Unfortunately the film reflects the reality too

  • To be honest. I thought this film was kind of boring. But it got kind of interesting towards then end. I would't call it perfect. Probably just a good view.

  • I'm so watching this soon.

  • This movie is fantastic. This cheesy voice over doesn't do it justice.

  • yeah is a good movie the Italiens Gangsters - Gomorrah

  • atm im reading the book. .. Brilliant

  • Hey... What's the song on this trailer? the first one.

  • questo film ė magnifico!

  • I saw this year ago and I still want to see it again.

  • this is a wonderful modern mafia film, it's someting brilliant taht i havnt seen in a long time. marco macor is hot =) Ciro petrone is funny.

  • Just got this on dvd so excited to watch it, it looks amazing

  • how was it? i'm thinking about ordering it. let me know.

  • I would call film near perfect. world of its characters is filmed in cinema verite style, you can feel it, smell it. highly recommended

  • @fekiramic

yep - there is no show. no makeup. no special character you know he stands above. its just a story. and i can highly recommend the book as well. thats how it works.

  • 2:17 - They spelled the word "official" wrong. Very unprofessional.

  • What are an English Teacher?

  • Whats the song in the begining of the trailer

  • This war continue every day in Italy

  • This movie is a little hard to follow but it is the first "mob" movie I've seen that did not glamorize the Mafia. Only one character walks away from the life.

  • hey if anyone can tell me the song from the strip club scene in this movie i would really appreciate it

  • enigma_ sadness

  • ok thanks appreciate it

  • Searchingyt, This is a fantastic piece of cinematic storytelling. The Mafia are an historic institution. read about that history... then fear

  • searchingyt stfu your a fat kid who cant i would put a bullet to your head

  • Fuck the mafia

  • ya la vi y esta del navete

  • ti sei capito solamente tu, you fukkin cocksucker. homo.

  • What's the name of the song that plays at 1:51?

  • Yeah, I want this song too. If you find out then let me know.

  • the song is "thriller" by "his boy elroy"

in the web address bar type...

    his DASH boy DASH elroy

with the obvious three letters before and after

when the web page comes up, on the top left grey "options" box click "licensing"

on the new page, scroll to the bottom, number 25, "thriller", and click the play button.

    enjoy!

  • this is in response to the song that plays at 1:51

  • ah, the faux sarcasm is cute, but uneeded, much like an extra kitten. Sticking with this, it's also weak, panoptic, mewling and possibly riddled with parasitic worms. Enjoy your time in Europe , the "mo' civilized people", the nitwits that devour each other every 50 yrs, the retirement home of failed empires.Toodle-oo, mon frer! Stay away from us dumm Murkans.

  • your soon-to-be 'failed empire' will undoubtedly be top of the retirement home heap as you always strive to be the very biggest and the very best.

perhaps only then will you be humbled as the individual EU nations have all already become from a bygone overexertion of arrogance and imperialistic designs.

'Dumm Murkans'- most impressive as you TRULY are articulate. i will happily stay away. cheerio, ciao, à très bientôt!

  • Seeing the rise of China and India, you two defensive blowhards having a intellectual empire battle is quite amusing. Perhaps you can find common ground as corporations dictate how you live versus government, and you find people you didn't know existed doing your former job. Zai jian.

  • blah blah blah, blow it outta your ass monkey.

  • european trailer loads better than this one. it's free of that horrid american voice-over with all that phony fear and suspense.

  • yeah, blockhead eurocunt? heres some american voiceover: fuck you, motherfucker

  • such an eloquent retort! delighted to see that not much has changed from the way many of my former compatriots so articulately express themselves...

  • i agree

  • When does this get released in US ?

  • it was released in february

  • Poor ITALIAN Police being stuck in the middle of all this. They have to be very quick on their feet, not sit in offices doing paperwork, watching UNDERage gay-porn, dealing with parking fines, etc like weak, emasculated , COWardS, NOTgunCARRYING , brit/english "police"

  • The movie is not from Scorsese. It is from Matteo Garrone. And the book is from Roberto Saviano.

  • Scorsese presented the movie to Americans audiences. He lended his name to the film to help the Garrone by endorsing the film.

  • woah @ 2:13

  • anyone knows the song at 01:53???

  • il camorra brucerà nell'inferno. i viveri che hanno rovinati saranno liberati. la giustizia sarà fatta.

  • This movie is incredible.

  • This is not martin scorsese film, fuck.

  • I am lucky enough to live in a city that has a fantastic independent theater and as a result was fortunate enough to see this film last night. It is every bit as awesome as the trailers and critics indicate!

  • mincia che film...............

  • Dammit i wana see this movie so bad!!!

i just dont kno wen i will be able too if anyone knos wen this will come out on dvd tell me!!

  • Good thing I live in a real city. I'm gonna go see it!

  • Comment removed

  • the trailer is american made..thats true.

  • STUpid ItalianS! hahah the spelling of Official is Official not "Offical" at 2:20 LOLZZZZZZ

  • I got news for you, the trailer is American!

    LOLZZZZZZ

  • really!??? OMG HOW STUPID this americans can be! LOLZ!

  • Good, you got it right this time.

  • I just wanted to point out that in your xenophobic rant about spelling mistakes being representative of stupidity in various nations, you typed the sentence "HOW STUPID this americans can be!" The correct grammatical way to pose this rhetorical question would be "How stupid can these Americans be?" Sucks to ridicule "STUPID americans" and then be schooled by one, doesn't it?

  • best movie of the year

  • When is this coming in the US? I heard Feb 13 is this correct?

  • yeah but NY/LA only ...that sux big time
