This was NOT a pirated game it was a normal ps2 disk that I put in the CD drive on my computer and the pcsx2 program would play it but I have not messed with this program in a long time and don't remember the way I got it all working.

you need a program called "poweriso", it will essentially "rip" the game from the disk and convert it to a format called "iso". your games need to be in iso format to be loaded onto your emulator.
