  • for the spur switch to 32 pitch gears from a jato, i did this on mine and never had a problem since

  • i am getting the vxl for my xl-5 what is the best type of gearing for wheeling/speed and bashing all together????

  • @shane10141 hmm, 23/76 or 28/83

  • my friend was using those gears so hes bsing u he doesnt know much about rc

  • @randlof123 ohh lol rustler gears suck

  • my friend has the problem i have a merv and i would never buy a rustler the gear always strip. rustlers suck that one and only reason

  • @randlof123 yeaa

  • @randlof123 The merv sucks all I ever do is strip a fucking rear diff. The Stampede is awesome it doesn stripshit.

  • kk here run these gears 54 tooth spur 32 pitch with a 17 tooth 32 pitch thicker gears and never strip

  • @randlof123 i waws gonna try that out later

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx yeah do what randolf said 32 pitch gears dont strip. thats what i use for my rig.

  • what did i say

  • @daplaneflyer nothin

    ;D

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx o shit i thaught you were some body else srry

  • @daplaneflyer lol!!

  • dang man tht sucks

  • @reidairsofter i kno!! lol

  • told ya so sorry buddy i warned you about metal

  • @rcboatdriver1234 lol you did D: but i dont think it was my spur because when i was taking it off i seen my 28 tooth pinion was missing a few teeth but u could only tell at an angle >:(!! i was PO'D! lol!!

  • Get a steel slipper clutch.

  • @xXChick3nPok3rXx i want to but they very pricy :(, this Alloy one was about 30$ shipped! ive been using my slipper no so its not getting stipped constantly!!

  • Every one send this guy a spur gear! he deserves it!

  • @glo160 LOL :) thanks man! haha!!

  • robinson racing 32p steel slipper kit is the solution. aluminum is soft.

  • @rcfreak363 yea, and i might look into that! thanks man!

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx im going to be getting it for my wheely king soon.

  • @rcfreak363 be sure u check ur mesh alot or it will strip!!

  • @Theslayervxl ahh true, it was showing wear the first day :(!!

  • iv seen those metal gears on ebay for 17 bucks.. is your mess just not set correct or is your motor screws slipping? try the paper trick between the gears and check your back lash on the gears after you set it. also i check your motor mounting screws are they slipping or not tight enuff.. something to look into.

  • @hardihood1 same, they rock but ahh the put lots of stress on wheel hexes. i did that today and no problems yet., running the new 83 stock spur, so far so good! and i got some motor hex screws so they keep the motor planted!!!

  • do a videeo showing your gear mesh stripping your spur gears like that is not right

  • @rccarsrule1000 lolol!! i would but ahh i got a new spur and now since i have 3s it wont keep planted so i use my slipper now :D i never used it i just kept it tight!!

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx tht mightve been the reason to so much spurs beings stripped

  • @ridermike221 most likely !!

  • damn dude, ur gear mesh correct?

  • @ridermike221 yea D:

  • and to rub this in further, the spur im running in my slash is the stock plastic one that originally came with it, and it now has over 1500km of use on it. and its still useable. just because the slipper it a tiny bit loose and stops the motor cogging badly and stripping the spur :)

  • @fathead431 dang thats awesome!! lol!! thats awesome!! ty man :D

  • dude. seriously. loosen your slipper clutch. if you have it tight for doing wheelies, dont. theyre lame. it will still wheelie even if you loosen it. when youre rebuilding it, when the nut is tight, loosen it 1/2 turn or even more.

and you dont need to remove that nut and lose your slipper settings. just undo the 3 hex head screws from the front and pull the spur off. ^_^

  • @fathead431 i will :D and lol!

  • well, slipper to tight?look into using emax gears instead they work great and arent nearly as woboly

  • @iansudduth22 woahh i never heard of that! thanks for the tip! i might ask my lhs about that!!

  • @xXShadowRejectsXx dont ask your lhs i did the same and they said it would never work. but im using a revo spur gear and a hpi savage pinion. but the mamba has a 5mm shaft(thats what she said) and you would have to find 32pitch gears that fit the 2mm shaft.

  • @hockeydude5122 thanks man!!

  • I've been running the stock plastic spur since I've bought my Rusty... over 6 months ago! Myabe do what mustangmadmatt said and adjust your slipper? :/

  • @Killer91109 lol wow im like SOL when it comes to slipps and i try DL:

  • im still running plastlic. and im only on like my second one. ive been using it for like a year and a half.

  • @PROJ3KTJ30 lucky! this is like my 12th!1

  • its your slipper have it 1/4 turn from tight and it wont happen or shouldnt thats what i did to my nitro and havent stripped a spur since

  • @mustangmadmatt i did that :( but i found out my pinion was really worn so thats why D:!!

  • ouch. that blows cock. im uploading a new video right now so try to watch it! its like 90 % done.

  • @hockeydude5122 k man! ill try :D
