Using romantic as an aesthetic pejorative is like using "outdated" (as in - my 70s shag carpet is outdated) as an aesthetic pejorative. The latter implies there was a proper time period where it wasn't ugly (it was still ugly in the 70s) and the former implies there's an appropriate occasion for poorly chosen and overly asserted rubato and dynamics - there isn't and that's not romantic. (not that I necessarily am trying to pass any judgments about this particular performance)
Myself and Ayn Rand (a then friend of Dr. Blumenthal) went to see him perform at Carnegie Hall sometime around 1968. He's a great example of rational man at his best.
Dear Allan, how wonderful to find this video of you and see that you are still very active in the music community and playing beautifully as always. This was a gorgeous performance.
What a wonderful surprise to see you here and know that you are still playing! You were so generous with your time and your comments on my playing when we met for some coaching years ago.
Hello Allan, I hope you read this thread. You knew me back in the '80's, when I was very young. You're not only a wonderful musician (this is the first time I've heard you play), but also the kindest, most accepting human being I've ever met. I think of you often. Thanks for your help.... and your music. E.A.

rather romantic - but acceptable, as the voices are beautiful independently expressed.
another psychiatrist playing Pandolfi Meall´s famous Chaconne on a baroque cello ---> kindest invitation to explore our channel ;-)) - S.

Very nifty; quick and precise. This is a good variation itself, played exceptionally well.

The Guitar Duet version of Lagoya and Presti has been my
favorite song for the last 15 years. It's so good to finally hear this version, I would assume much like
the original. Very nice.
