Mexican parents, for the most part, are strict. My father is so machista and then you have the moms. My mom doesn't say much. She obviously lets my father do the decision making. Always standing behind him. Ahaha. But I think it would be great if you were to do a video portraying Hispanic parents.

Hello there Melissa. It's your awesome pal. I think it would be a good idea to do such a thing here on youtube. You've already proven that you have the talent and the know-how to do amazing things. And plus, if you want to go into something more scientific, your already your parents, just a mixture of both side of the same coin or however that goes. But other than that, I say go for it. Actually the topic of strict Asian parents spun of from a recent article where a woman was saying how much better it is that they are hard on their kids, highlighting the advantage they have over the self-esteem model used by so many Americans where every kid is special and you cannot speak harshly to them.

As for me, I'm a whexican, but both my parents were pretty strict. I got plenty of whoopin's and felt the belt on occasian. I wasn't pushed all that much though, but that gets complicated.

As your fellow Chicano, I think I can guess what those Mexican parents videos, in Related Videos, were like. They were Chicanos portraying stereotypes of Mexicans, as if our enemies weren't doing enough of that, weren't they? I, and many of my friends, fight those anti-Mexican bigots, here on YT, every day! I t would be a great service to do a vid portraying some of the positive realities of our people, although, I totally understand about other responsibilities needing to take priority over YT.
