  • Why do all the women watching this grin and blush a little??

  • купите у меня конус бур резьбовой и соберите такой же дровокол или даже круче 89501928030

  • How much force (torque) does it take to do this, the log doesn't move much if its any indicator.

  • i would rather shoot myself in the nuts then operate one of those things

  • @buckbuckaroo1 ever see on of those big wheeles with a blade on it, you stick the log up to the wheel and a big axe head like blade slams into the wood and splits it. very very dangrous

  • Dobrą siekierą bym to szybciej zrobił :P

  • dobrą siekierą bym to szybciej zrobił ;)

  • just use a maul, unless its some red oak or hickory, cause you arent splittin that with a maul

  • squeellllllllll

  • Very simple and effective!

  • If you guys wanna see this idea in it's best form, youtube search atom splitter. Takes this idea to it's best.

  • A few hundred buck and a electric spliter will work 10 times faster and safer without all the set up and gas usage from your V8.

  • wouldnt it make more sense to do it in the middle?

  • I'll stick to my Bobcat mounted splitter!!!!

  • Ahahaha, only Americans are stupid enough to split wood like that, LMAO

  • HA HA HA where you from you CLOWN?

  • @damiyanvx what makes you think this guy is in america?

    stereotypical much?

  • i love that song

  • LOL junk

  • Ya my gramps used to have one and i remember watching him use it as a kid and if that screw hits a big nit the whole log flips around and digs a big hole in the ground shooting dirt and shit everywhere and if you happen to be anywhere in the way it will wind you right up around it and ring you out like a dish rag... Very Dangerous !!!

  • i bet that cooks the clutch!!

  • Truck has an automatic. When I was a kid my Dad had it on a truck with a manual trans and I would operate the clutch for him.... Probably less brutal on the clutch than pulling a loaded horse trailer.

  • Not any more than a 2-ton hammermill grinder/mixer when you engage the hammers with a JD 60! It takes approximately 7 seconds for the driveline to cease movement, a plethora of momentum. :)

  • I'm halfway through watching this and thinking "I could have split it into quarters by now with a maul".

  • This was my sons first time using the splitter, we had the RPM's lower than usual. It will usually fly through each peice.

  • @yellojeeper Yeah, sure. Go for it, and when you get done, come help me.

  • @yellojeeper yeah but how tired will you be after you split for a few hours this thing is a time saver

  • @yellojeeper bullshit

  • Hmmm, I'll use a 175 hp vehicle to split wood. I'll take the tire off it and put a screw on it. Then I'll put logs on an unstable platform and split them with thisse here spinning screw. I'll fight with the wobbly mess until it bashes me with a piece. Then I'll figure out how bad I'm hurt and how to take the screw off and put the tire back on while bleeding like hell. Then drive to hospital. And pass a few stores with hydraulic splitters that cost a fraction of the bill I'm gonna have.

  • My father used one for years and my brother and I have been using them for years, aside from some smashed fingers (but you smash fingers doing anything) it has worked well for us. So if you doubt your abilities like you do then you better not use one of these.... Key is you have to be smarter than a bag of hammers to use one.

  • I was making a joke. I don't doubt my abilities, I'm a firefighter, mechanic, and fabricator. Besides it's too slow. That's why I built two. One being for the really big stuff. Has a crane/grapple on it all hydraulic, but still a tow behind. And the other built on a case trencher. I use it as a skidder, and splitter. Cycle time is 15 seconds at idle. I try to work smart and quickly at the same time. That's what engineering things before you build them helps with. No Offense intended.

  • This would be fine if you had all year to do it. Get a splitting axe

  • i like the sound of the wood splitting it is so cool

  • Whenever I see these types of splitters I think of Tony Soprano and his companions making use of it for other purposes.

  • Maybe not a good idea to use this after drinking a 6 pack???

  • the irony is that it only seems like a good idea AFTER you drink a 6 pack lol.

  • Yeah, I'll stick with my axe. lol How would that do on some gnarly stuff full of knots? Very cool though. I've never seen such a thing.

  • i think youre running it the wrong way. try from the flat end.

  • Dangerous.

Nose buster, just a matter of time before a log breaks loose and pops you in the nose.

  • Good idea, but a axe is faster

  • good idea but could turn out so bad.

  • it,s jamming under the resting block...why dont you feed it in upright?????

  • No safety shut off. Just have to be careful. My father, brother and my self have used these for years with no injuries (knock on wood). I did get my glove sucked in with the log once,l just hurt for a minute but done no damage. Just like anything else there is a degree of hazard you just need to pay attention.

  • very true do you think a log splitter is any safer think about it there is an engine running loud as hell and you are holding the log while someone is running the valve and no one can hear you scream when your hend is getting chopped off

  • is that bolted to a truck??? and when you mean the rpms can be raised you rev the engine??

  • Yes bolted to a truck. That is much slower than I normally run it. That was at idle and I usually run it at around 1500 rpm at the engine. This summer I want to convert it to a hydraulic motor with about a 10 horse Honda running a pump. Seems silly to have a V8 running all them hours

  • well when it is bolted to a truck you have like unlimeted supply of power and rpms arent bad... might as well use the gas while its cheap

  • What kind of safety shut off is there ? It

looks like a potential hazard if there is none.

  • nifty setup but I'll take a good ol maul with a fiberglass handle over it anyday. No gas required and I can split circles around your setup.

  • LOL, You must be a big burly dude....

  • @Livs4pow you would be surpriese that thig is pretty fast ive used it one and i had the same thoght but it really works

  • Is that a statement or a question. If it is a question then you are not very bright, why would anyone use anything that took all day to split one piece.

If it is a statement (which it is as written) then I would assume you are commenting that it takes you all day to split one piece, therefore you should be embarrassed to call yourself a lumberjack.

  • @thaxboyd I am only 180lbs now but I used a maul and wedge setup daily when I was 15ish made a pretty penny splitting wood once your body is conditioned for swinging a mans hammer it really isnt too much since the hammer does most of the work. With that said I still like the concept it doesn't seem anymore dangerous than a hydraulic splitter since the danger does not come from the machine it comes from the operator not paying attention.

  • All day to split one piece.

  • useless

  • I used it to split 4 chords of wood for this winter..... I guess it's pretty useless.

  • To bad it took all Summer. : )

  • I have one of those and there is no stopping them, even on a nissan!
