  • awwwwww... this movie is soo cutee... can anyone tell me where i can watch the full movie plzzzz

  • Woah woah woah, no one honks this horn but me, ok pal?

  • I'm in Love With Andie McDowell. Her first name is actually Rose

  • @cronosbray I bet you're in love with ANDY, but not the Beautiful miss mcdowell, ya fucktard! *bitch slap*

  • @genxxxersize ha ha ha!!,,genderbendersize is obsessed with the great doogwoody!!,,i'm so flattered!!,,,

  • To call this film genius is an understatement. It plumbs the big questions of existence with humor, insight and wit. The best part? We're all living the same day and we all can choose to change from within, just like Phil does.

  • great

  • i like

  • BLUE WAFFLES!

  • "you like boats but not the ocean. you go to a lake in the summer with your family up in the mountains. there's a long wooden dock and a boathouse with boards missing from the roof, and a place you used to crawl in underneath to be alone. you're a sucker for french poetry and rhinestones. you're very generous, you're kind to strangers and children. and when you stand in the snow you look like an angel." *sniff* that part gets me EVERY time. so romantic. i just love this movie. =)

  • bill murray is a natural actor..just effortless.

  • 6:30 to the end is where the movie really hit me. I think that was probably one of the most effective, emotional, realistic, and honest confessions I've ever seen on film. I think what really struck me about it was, this is as much a confession from Phil to himself as it is from Phil to Rita. He just spoke from the heart, knowing she wouldn't remember a word of it in the morning--or even be there still. He knew he wasn't going to get anything out of it, but he said it anyway. I always dug that.

  • I'm a God! Not THE God...I don't think...

  • Only Bill Murray could play that role.

  • Watch that first step...it's a doooozy!

  • Watch that first step...it's a doooozy!

  • 1:07 Michael Shannon brilliance.. ;)

  • Notice the All Seeing Eye in the window at 5:43 - 5:55 or thereabouts. Cool!

  • i would have raped her about a 100 times. next day everything back to normal. : )

  • Happy Groundhog Day

One thing I don't get about this movie. Just one, and maybe my memory is a bit hazy and he did try this but of what I remembering he didn't. Why didn't he just try to stay up all night? You would think that would be an obvious solution, especially in this scene. He has killed himself a thousand times and yet he can't stay up a night? Not like he magically returns to his body at 6....he goes to sleep and wakes up the same day. So the obvious problem is the going to sleep bit.

  • @PsychedelicDragon He did try - but kept falling asleep anyway.

  • @AquaticSpirit Then he should have drank a lot of coffee, snorted some good coke, or tweaked some meth. He didn't try everything it seems lol.

  • @PsychedelicDragon He did try - but kept falling asleep anyway.

  • @PsychedelicDragon I'm pretty sure that was one of the first things he tried. Everything just resets wherever he is whether he's asleep or not. He actually kills himself several times and still wakes up in bed at 6AM.

  • Happy Groundhog day. And it's very ironic that today, 2-2-2011, everybody is snowed in from WI to PA today, just like in the movie. Blizzard of the decade.

  • @dmimcg Ya i agree

  • If I was stuck in the same day over and over I hope this movie would be on TV that day.

  • @nholt its on encore channel from 12 am 12/2 til like 6 pm

  • ...special today is blueberry waffles...

  • Comment removed

  • For some reason this movie is always played during christmas in Australia. Does anyone know why?? To me christmas isnt complete without seeing this movie once, lol.

  • @RagingUtai lol, i didn't know that. sounds pretty cool. in the US it's A Christmas Story that's played every Christmas, all day on some channels.

  • @RagingUtai LOL! Thats cool. It usually plays all day on Groundhog day. As a matter of fact, groundhog day is next week and a Showtime channel will be replaying it all day.

  • Fucking genius script. Definitely should have won some awards.

  • Kenny from South Park has this ability

  • This is absolutely one of my all time favourite movies! I luv Bill Murray, he's just brilliant in this role!

  • if i had this "curse" for exactly one year and not age or no consequences i would have so much fun

    no joke

  • Bill Murray: "Once again the eyes of the world turn to this tiny village in Western Pennsylvania, blah blah blah blah-blah."

  • 0:27 Robin Duke! "URRGH! DOO-DOO! PEE-PEE! SNOT!" 8D

  • "just put that anywhere fella, yeah"......lol

  • in 5 seconds a waiters gonna drop a tray 5 4 3 2 1 BANG CRASH hahaha!!

  • and she's an annoying cunt

  • The whole "What I wanted to say was..." speech is one of my favorite movie moments.

  • The best scene from a truly remarkable film. If you think this is a light-weight, knockabout film, you weren't paying attention.

  • So what happens next?? Is it like a 50 First Dates thing, does she forget about him the next day? Do they do this again?

This seems like a really sad movie...

  • @HotDogWolf1 It can be. It's a comedy-drama.

  • @HotDogWolf1 It really isn't. It's actually really cute.

  • @HotDogWolf1 its sorta like that accept only cus he repeats his day rather than her havin memory loss

  • @HotDogWolf1

It's not a sad movie, but I felt really sad for the main character when I Iearned, according to the Director, that Phil remained in a time loop for more than 50 years.

"Phil tracked time by reading a page of a book each day and had managed to read through the entire public library"

  • @IJFlores So there are only 18,000 pages in the entire library? That's about 100 short books.

  • @HotDogWolf1

The hero goes through a number of stages and moral evolutions. When he finally learns to care for his fellow man he is released from the curse and lives happily ever after. With whatshername of course.

  • I cried the first time I saw this scene and I cried again when I saw this just now, how appropriate

  • One of my favorite movies for sure. I've always said that Murray should have gotten an Oscar nomination for this.

  • Hey look it's Tom Hanks!

  • Yeah... Bill Murray is a natural.

  • love the waitress in the first scene.

  • The way he says "I am a GOD", in the beginning on such a serios note..i just find it soo soo funny, it always cracks me up..

  • what he does with the girls the ones who doesnt rejected him is all game theory is try n error look is like this fwatch?v=HCinK2PUfyk&feature=related for exmple if u know someone u just try till it works it could work it worked with the other girls

  • i like how this is shot.

  • Thank you for ending this clip before he wakes up. That one morning when he woke up alone seemed to be the cruelest cut of them all...

  • Such an awesome movie!!

  • One of my favourite films of all time!

  • Bill Murray has this air of coolness to him. Like he has given up on the struggle for life; a sort of defeated air.

  • One of the deepest movies ever made...

  • @ThrilloVanHouten Absolutely. As much acclaim as it's received since it's release, it still is not appreciated for its existential issues ("Is this what you do with eternity?"). Throwaway lines of tremendous meaning. If you do not love this movie, you cannot enter our family. We quote from this movie probably every single day. That about sums it up for me.

  • This is one of my all-time favorite movies ever!

  • I wake up everyday in the same place too it seems, just about! lol

  • is it snowing in space?

  • I think the waitress in the first scene is in the movie Dumb and Dumber playing a.. well a waitress.

  • rhyme asylum - the uprising sample this...funny movie....

  • you look like an angel when you stand in the snow

  • @vsting66 He uploaded more scenes, this is just scene 5 dude.

  • Andie MacDowell woof woof

  • she looks nice what do you mean? I like the ice sculpture of her.

  • I'm gonna watch this movie

aaaahhhh al diablo me voy a refinar esta pinche película en la noche con un bizcochito, a ver si me la termino cogiendo ingue su ;-)

  • never been to catholic school have ya? religious upbringing is very philosophical and existential.

  • Is this the last night? I can't remember.

  • @CopyboyVideo To not be a spoiler, I will just say no is not the last night.

  • "I have been stabbed, shot, poisoned, frozen, hung, electrocuted and burned."

I laugh out loud every time I hear that line.

  • @UzeYourBrain

back when this movie came out, 12 years of catholic school meant something lol.

  • One of the only scenes that have a heart felt moment. great movie.

  • @cory32978

Yes, a great movie, hands down, much underrated by those who only see the humorous side (which I enjoy immensely, too). But there's another heart-felt moment--it's when Phil, kneeling down over the body of the dead old man, and after having tried to save his life a million times, looks up to heaven in resignation and final acceptance that there are some things he just can't change. There are actually quite a few scenes like that sprinkled amid all the laughs.

  • Phil: I'm a god.

Rita: You're not a god. You can take my word for it; this is twelve years of Catholic school talking.

  • faill

  • I could sure use a few ground hog days being finals week and all, lol.

  • "too early for flapjacks?"

-that's one of the best lines in movie history :)

  • I would probably liv through the same day, about 200 times before I would start searching fora way out, and go about 1000 times before attmpting suicide

  • does larry check out the waiter's ass? 3:10

  • I have never seen this movie! Never even heard of it, but I will see it just because of Bill Murray.

  • it brilliant.... :)

  • the idea is that he lives the same day again and again and again

  • Bill Murray, king of deadpan.

  • Gosh you're an upbeat person.

  • Dude I want a remake of this movie. Not saying this one is'nt good, but I would like some form of another take on this movies idea.

  • @Lamb00FGoD i can see what you mean, if the same thing happened to a different character in a different situation how would they react?

  • @Lamb00FGoD No no and....no.

  • @ksb78 Yes,yes,and....hell yeah.

  • @Lamb00FGoD I have to ask. what could a remake offer that wasn't already perfect in 93? What, the latest popular songs on mtv as the soundtrack? Some it girl from CW or NBC as the hot love interest? Steve Carell, or Jim Carry, or Will Ferrell hamming it up making it over the top. "Lets take Groundhog Day, but set it in 2011" What would be so different to the central story today?

  • Love this film and the bedroom scene expresses how u should feel about the one u love in my case my partner for life Jean, and yes i know i'm lucky to have found her.

  • I love this film. It's one of the main reasons i started learning the piano.

  • @cheesecakeisgod i love this film. i've seen it over 100 times.

  • geez i need to buy this movie, i havent seen it in the longest!

  • 6 months for 4-5 hours a day and youll be good at throwing cards into a hat.... hilarious

youve got to wonder how many days he spent in the loop

  • I just found a site that debates how long he was in it. People said from 10 years to 10,000 (10k yrs being in the original script)

You have to think its extremely long, I mean I know I wouldnt start commiting suicide for a long ass time

  • @devilsrain729

First he's a kid in a candy store. Then he gets bored. Then he tries to seduce Rita. Then he falls in love with her. Then he despairs and tries to kill himself. Then he accepts his fate and learns to delight in self-improvement. Only when he finally learns to care about other people is he released from the curse.

  • and when you stand in the snow you look like an angel

  • who doesnt love groundhog day.

  • I love groundhog Day!

  • watched this for Film Studies

doing my project on it :D

  • This is my favorite scene of the whole movie. after he gets close with Ned. LOL

  • great movie

  • Gawd I love this movie, the scene with the old man nearly breaks my heart every time I watch it.

  • Bill is a great piano practicing actor! Talk about method acting! I just wish I had been courageous enough to say hi and hug him. He looks like a hugger.

  • i love this movie

  • It wasn't about getting laid, it was about living your life to the fullest and not being afraid of what you can be. I think you missed the point.

  • Science project indeed!

    *Radical Free Thinking*.

He changed the course of events even when the circumstances were the same and no external influences could affect his judement. He changed his choice by changing his attitude on his "Strongest Desire" and eventually choosing what was more effective for himself and for others.

  • i am italian - this movies is w o n d e r f u l

  • uhh what does being italian have to do with anything?

  • This is funny on many levels and full of interesting people, esp Phil, who seems crazy but is indeed experiencing everything over, and over, and over. Until he changes himself.

  • bill murray. the only likeable cynic ever.

  • Look up Jack Dee, he's the other one

  • I really like this movie.

    Also funny when he says:

    "I promise I won't touch you.............Much."

    lol

  • Bill Murray probably should have been nominated for an Oscar for this.

  • @DrunkenMastermind you're absolutely right man! it's a pity

  • one of the best actor ever...

  • my favorite scene is when bill is sitting in front of the tv watching jeopardy and drinking whiskey. now that was awesome.

  • Hands Down..... this is Bill Murray's best movie......

  • @lifeonmars56 not only that, bill murray, not the producer, wanted this movie to be more about the philosophy instead of the comdey... genius, as this movie is very deep

  • @matthewdoucette

I thought the balance of comedy and philosophy was pitch-perfect. If it went too heavy it would have turned audiences off. I bet a lot of people thought it was a comedy all the way through but it's an incredible morality play.

The hero starts off as a seemingly irredeemably nasty, selfish, miserable character. After being cursed, he gradually goes through a slew of stages and moral evolutions. Only when he learns to care for his fellow man is he redeemed and released.

  • yo vivo en este lugar donde se iso la muvie y me encanta! Woodstock IL. I live in the city were this movie Make its nice i love it! Woodstock IL.

  • great scene. this movie is the best

  • ah she is beautiful

  • I've watched this movie also so many times...to be honest...just because of Andy...:)

In some scenes she looks like an angel...

  • I love this film. Great scene!

  • the best scene .funny as hell movie.

  • this movie is so funny

  • Happy Ramadan, everyone!

  • Groundhog Day is my favorite movie in my lifetime, so far. It's great!

  • Bill Murray is indeed God, or "a" god, at least he thinks so.

  • Love this movie. Its the best.

  • "phil!,..it's me ned!,come on buddy i did whistling belly button trick at the high school talent show"..this movie is one of murray's best and the scene where he and andie macdowell are dancing in the snow is probably the best in the film.

  • You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life.

  • i have seen this film countless times. it moves me and makes me laugh every time i watch it again.

that's magic for you right there.

  • Murray and MacDowell were both outstanding in this film but that script was fuckin' genius.

  • I agree. Great script.

  • That's the very best part of the film, thank you for posting

  • Good flick. Andie MacDowell is mega gorgeous in this movie!

  • Andy is so cute...she's really like an angel...

  • gosh -- you're an upbeat lady...

  • I would bet the mortgage that he improvised that line. He's notorious for that.

  • don't mess with the mortgage man.

  • what a great movie. bill murray at his best.

  • do you know the name of that song in minute 2:17.....i can't found it :(

  • Every time someone drops dishes in a restaurant I always say "Just put that anywhere pal" to this day

  • "I never said midnight"

  • I watched this film like 50 times or so (some crazy years ago) and also got the script. hehe. it's a classic!! And I looove Bill Murray

  • 2.17 when the music starts&bill starts talking in his pissed of voice-i really feel for him,its my fav scene.brilliant film,funny,sad,romantic-just like me,lol

  • Was there a problem with the audio when you made this copy? It sounds a little faster than usual.

  • Really? I didn't notice that. I think that voices and lip movements are pretty well synchronized :/

  • What I meant to say is that it sounds like it is set at a higher pitch than what I remember. I may be wrong.

  • It does sound like a higher pitch, ever so slightly. I thought I was going crazy but I lowered it slightly in a sound program and it sounds better.

  • beautiful wonderful movie

  • completely agree
