When I was 9 years old I saw Monster Magnet's song Space Lord on MTV, and I wanted the album so badly. But my dad wouldn't let me buy the album because it had PARENTAL ADVISORY on it. I was a teenager when these hearings were going on. As a result, my health teacher in junior high had put together a small presentation showing the perceived dangers of suggestive lyrics by using samples of these lyrics in class. Btw, the "anal vapors" lyric Frank mentions is from a band called "The Mentors". I never or would ever have heard of them had I not seen that presentation in junior high. What the PMRC did was advertise for obscure bands who wouldn't have received notice to begin with.
