Agree with you froggy. But I'd rate the it at only 3 stars. Show is slipping. Started to go down hill since season 3. There just isn't that desperation and urgency from season 1 and 2 anymore. The love angles go nowhere, and as you say, are just fillers. Nice review.

Thanks. really? i really enjoyed season 3. more than 1 or 2 overall. i thought it was smart writing (and great casting on smits) to have dexter having a good friend finally, and one that he finally trusts and teams up with for kills. didn't see that coming. extra points for it being an assistant district attorney. i agree that 3 stars would have probably been more appropriate for the rating.

You remember in Season 1 and 2, there were twists that make you worry if they will catch Dexter. You know? Like is he gonna get caught now if this thing happens. With season 3, that aspect was lacking, you know.

True. There was safety in Dex's hookup with the assistant DA (season 3). Doakes on his ass in season 2 is what kept the heat on but i never really felt he'd get busted since he's the star of the show. it wasn't IF he'd get away but how. still enjoyed the hell out of it though and Doakes played his part masterfully. Good stuff

most of the points are valid but I think John Lithgow as a serial killer was a horrible choice...I mean, it's a guy from 3rd Rock from the Sun ffs - -; every time I see him trying to be "creepy" it makes me giggle :)
