  • Would REALLY like to have tabs to this....maybe you could include it with your new lesson 5 CD?

  • @redhawk73439 Thank you for your interest and request. CD 5 is almost complete. The last two lessons are: How to play Freight Train (taking 4 string CBG to 6 string guitar) and the Licks of Robert Johnson in Open G. Possibly in the future, I will tab this song and make it available. Sorry for any inconvenience, but there is too much to do lately. Enjoy.

  • loved it, 5 stars :)

  • @MrMatchuw Thank you for your comment and generous rating. Enjoy.

  • whats the tuning on that thing

  • Thank you for your question. I am tuned Cfac from low to high. I usually have the tuning information on the right side of the video. Happy Holidays. Enjoy.

  • Hi Kenni.

you play one of the best blues.

I love it, but i can do it.

I Start to play guitar 3 years ago.

    5 stars

  • Thank you for your comment. Yes, I like your Chicago style. Tune that baby up to Open E, put a slide on your finger and play some good old Elmore James. Enjoy.

  • This is one of the best Muddy Waters covers I've ever heard. And the very idea of a resonator cigar-box guitar is so awesome, I think I'll just have to build one myself. (Do you think it'd play well tuned to GDAE? I'm primarily a mandolin player.)

  • Thank you for the kind compliment. Have you been to Cigar Box Nation? There you will find everything you need to know about building CBG. You can certainly build a CBMandolin and tune it any way you like. Enjoy.

  • love the sound trying to make my on resonator cigarr box guitor with its on pickup an amp is there any thing you can help me with mainly the resonator part plan on using bisket type does it need a sound ring with hole in it to hold the cone I CANT FIND ANY THING ON INTERNET play to by you cds on ebay can.t wait to start YOUR THE BEST BLUES PLAYER I"ve heard on on CBG

  • Thank you for the kind compliment. If you are interested in building, you have to go to .cigarboxnation. I am a player, not a builder, but there you will find a lot of builders and they will answer your questions. Enjoy.

  • great guitar

  • Thank you. Please visit bigdaddysmojo here on youtube to see more of his creations. Enjoy.

  • NICE!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Man, i just love this kind of music, i was searching the whole youtube for something like that.

these days i was watching some old west movies, and there was a lot of music sounding like slide guitar, very slow blues, and i just can't find it here.

  • Thank you. Ya, Ry Cooder's song Dallas is a great example of an old style western background music. You could find it here on youtube. Please check out my other videos. They are better organized in my Playlists. Enjoy.

  • Magnificent!! What an amazing sound... and your playing is just wonderful! Great song, well performed... all around 5/5, doesn't come any better than this! *****

  • Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. Darren (bigdaddysmojo) makes a great little guitar. I too love the tone. Check out his guitars right here on youtube. Enjoy.

  • sounds...real good....

blowin down the backroads headin' south

  • Thank you. Ya, old Muddy's sound sure did change from his down on the farm plantation days to his big city Chicago sound. I personally like the old country sound, but I like living in the excitment of the big city. Enjoy.

  • Nice playing as usual....sounding great! That is a beautiful reso too. Keep the videos coming.

  • Thank you. Please visit Darren (Big Daddy) here on youtube (bigdaddysmojo) and check out his Cigar Box Guitars.

  • great video dude.

where can I find one of those?

    Trevor (Unca_T)

  • Thank you. Please visit the web site. .backporchmojo. Don't forget, tell Darren, Keni Lee sent ya. Enjoy.

  • Keni Lee is there another video with CBG lessons other than the lesson 1 which I already bought? I am giving copies of that with the CBGs I made for my friends. I do hope you make more with the CBG lessons they are great....

  • Search for Keni Lee on ebay. He's got series 2 there, which is good and cheap info. Series 3 that's still on youtube is teaching about arrangement that will help with CBG tremendously.

  • Thank you for your comment. Yes, because there is no standard string arrangement or tuning for CBG, it requires an open ear and lots of experimentation. Thank you for your endorsement and support. Enjoy.

  • Thank you. Series 2 teaches Open G tuning DGDgbd. Here is the straight facts. I base my understand of CBG bottleneck on my 6 string knowledge. You can string and tune a 3 string CBG like the bottom half, GDg or the top half, gbd. If two people play together it makes a whole guitar. Bass and lead. Personally, I'm beginning to feel a 4 string CBG would be even better. GDgd or Dgbd. In this video, I'm tuned like Dgbd, but a whole step lower Cfac for my voice. See all the possibilities.

  • Keni Lee -Really great thanks for sticking it out and getting your music out here for us to enjoy... I really am looking forward to seeing more of your cigar box lessons love the CD.... Thanks again Jim

  • Thank you. Originally, when I began teaching on Youtube it was with the hope that it would help promote sales of my CD, Good & Evil. There was so much interest, my friend packaged the lessons with tablature, and began selling them for me on ebay. The plan this time is to ask the viewers, if they would consider supporting my continued efforts teaching by purchasing my CD. I still have an inventory of 600 CDs, out of a 1000 CDs ordered, left to sell. I'd gladly teach if people are interested.

  • Well, I did my part! I ordered all of your CDs twice over as they were released. One set for me and one for my dad. We've enjoyed learning a bit from you and I'm looking forward to series 3. (Now if I'd just start practicing!)

  • EXCELLENT KENI !!

    stay kooooool

    B P

  • Thank you. Man, we have been hanging out here on youtube for years now! Enjoy.

  • Oh yea...amazing...thanks keni lee...keep 'em coming.

    smiles

  • Wow, that was a fast response. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • first class as always 5*****

  • Thank you. It is amazing how having one more string on a CBG (4 instead of 3), and using a slightly different tuning can give you a whole different approach. Thanks for the encouragement. Enjoy.

  • very very nice ! i like it alot keep it up !.

  • Thank you for your encourging comment. Enjoy.

  • i dont think i can be disencouraging about any of your video's , there all great , very useful, entertaining, and just straight out enjoyable stuff. keep making 'em , cant wait to see more .thanks.=]

  • Thank you. Please stay tuned. More stuff on the way. Currently, in an attempt to reduce my guitar inventory, and make some much needed cash, I've been selling some of my guitars. So, I will be posting more music videos to demonstrate these guitars. Also, I have plans for a Series of Cigar Box Lessons to help promote sales of my music CD, Good & Evil. Times are tuff right now. The Eagle ain't flying on Friday. Gotta tote that barge, and lift that bale. lol. Enjoy.

  • will be looking forward to the videos man, and good luck with the sales i know how tuff times are getting myself.

take it easy n keep cool man.
