@Mrgyn I recommend to you, if you want to know how science and God can be in harmony, read the book "Science of Self Realization" by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

You may know the facts of science. But, you do not know the facts of God Consciousness - or the science of self realization. God Consciousness would help you to realize that God, as the Supreme, can do anything. Therefore He can make even an ocean of milk possible.

hello , i wanted to know if I should take what Sr. Bhagavatam says methaphorically or literally ? because i´ve read some crazy things, like there´s oceans of milk, or liquor, and that the sun is closer to earth than the moon, and there are mountains 29.000 kmts tall here on earth, etc. I would aprecciate your answer very much, because i´ve already asked this in many hare krishna places here in youtube, but still no one answered me .

Hello, i understand that it seems to be strange sometimes. But you should accept it literally.

You know, vedic scriptures were written thousands years ago, and so many things were written which are found only now. Many years people could not have understood that, but now scientists have prooved many things which are written in vedas.

For example, it is written in vedas how child is developing in mother's womb (what is happening every week etc) and now scientist prooved the same.

vedas are talking not only about the Earth but about other planets too. By the way these oceans fo milk are not in earth, but in some other planets. Also in our earth water is salt, why not sweet? the chemical ingredients are just different( it doesn't mean that cows came and put their milk into that ocean :D ) so if we have such a lakes why other planets cannot have other types of water?

ok, but you didn´t answer the questions i´ve made 2 times already. read them, please .And of course it´s posible other kinds of elements in other planets, but ..liquor? who destilled it? Milk? who took it ? from what cows? ghee? who clarified that amount of butter? This discussion is beggining to make me laugh already..you guys can´t tell that this is mythology, as any other culture in the world has, but you need this sooo hard to keep on living that your comon sense is totally blind...

@FrankMustaine My answer to your question, as to the source of milk, etc. oceans, is that God, as the Supreme, can do anything, therefore He can make an ocean of milk. Just b/c we on the earth planet and in this universe are unfamiliar w/ the concept (and scientists) does not mean that it is impossible.

But really, instead of asking here, you should just read the Srimad Bhagavatam by Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. In his purports, he answers your questions.

@theultimateotaku : ´ve read prabhupada,s meanings. regarding to that question, there´s many contradictions. ead the passtime of demigods shaking the milk ocean, and when the poison appears, all of them (including a krishna incarnation present there),go to pray to shiva to save them, refering to him as "supreme personality of godhead"(when lord krishna himself in his incarnation was next to them!!)Prabhupada says "they were talking to the supreme pers. of god...(continues in next reply)

@FrankMustaine If you look at other sections of the Srimad Bhagavatam, yes, there are parts where Lord Sri Krishna humbles Himself before others; He offer respects to Narada Muni, He even pays respects to Vishnu! But this does not mean Krishna is not Supreme; why? 1) We have humility, thus so too does the Lord 2) Prabhupada explains in KRSNA Book that Krsna is setting an example, 3) Krsna is conquered by love, so why should he not bow before Shiva, a great devotee? and...(cont in next reply)...

@FrankMustaine (cont...) 4) In Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 10, there's a pastime wherein Krishna kills a King of Kashi, Paundraka, who pretends that he is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. When He has to, Krsna reminds that He is Supreme; we see this when Brahma steals the cows + in the episode of Indra + Govardhan Hill. But, Prabhupada explains in Nectar of Devotion how, even showing His opulence and supremacy, Krsna is conquered by love. Srimati Radharani is the topmost of all who love Krsna.

@sarati108 : meru, sumeru, etc, are in planet earth -as prabhupada states clearly- , up to know, noone saw a big square mountain 29000 kmts tall (everest is 8500 !!), same distance that S. bhagavatam states as the distance between earth and moon!! So, i can climb that mountain and touch the moon w my hands!!, but i can burn in the process, because sun is closer to earth than moon !! hahaha dude , WAKE UP!!
