Neverwinter Nights (PC) speedrun - Segment 1 - Prelude part 1

I'm thinking of doing a speedrun for this myself, and while I was looking at monk, I thought it might be more efficient to take the first level in wizard for easy access to expeditious retreat, and then multiclass to monk. Since monk speed and expeditious retreat stack, I'm wondering how far the first level will set me ahead, or behind. Suggestions?

@firemblemrules9 If you are doing this on an edition that has both expansions, then yes, ABSOLUTELY go wizard. In fact, I'd say go at least the first three levels into wizard so you can be assured of Flame Weapon as well. (If you decide to multiclass to monk after that, pick up a kama.)

But I recall that Expeditious Retreat was introduced in one of the expansions, and this was just the standalone original game, so I didn't have that advantage for this playthrough.

@hellotheresirdude That's because I ultimately decided not to submit this run, as I felt it wasn't up to standards (this is a popular enough game that I want the run to be GOOD - and I also didn't have Fraps at the time). And I also didn't think in retrospect that it was fair to run on an unpatched version because, well, how are most people going to compete against it properly?

I'm looking to redo this on the Diamond Edition, but not until I deal with this semester of college at earliest.

Monk...a wise choice (no pun intended). Monk at high levels is the very definition of "speed run" Monk Speed with Robes of the Dark Moon = Flash Gordon

@sergiuszs Yeah, I plan to redo this segment some time down the road to both incorporate that skip and see if I can clean up the graduation chamber fight.
