I have been put behind a chain link fence by this breed when I was no where near the dogs yard and in open space walking and minding my own business. I keep wondering time and time again. Why is it worth so much to make sure aggressive dog breeds are re-trained and all this energy put into them. Re train people to realize that there are a zillion things to put your heart into helping your own species instead of trying to treat some four legged aggressive potential killer like a cherished tot.
this guy has such a good heart!! its unbelievable to think that some people claim such horrible things about Cesar. He truly in a way is redefining dog behavior and actually simplifying it from the complex human reasoning that so many people tend to give it

It's amazing just how pure conversation over this brings out the hatred and aggression of of those who support this breed. This is precisely why some people choose this dog. @torzidotwisted your a fucking idiot. pitbulls are great loving dogs and were one of the most popular dogs in the 50's for families because they were great with people and can be a guard dog, which is why they get abused and put into dog fights and owned by ignorant people who give them this bad rep. So fuck you and we should shoot idiots like u instead of dogs
Pitbulls are bred to fight, hence the breed name "pitbulls". And you are proving the theory of why certain people pick the "bully breeds." These are people who want to project the "bad ass" reputation" through the choice of a dog. The dog becomes the power symbol. Underneath most of them are just like you. They're unreasonable, defensive and out of control. They're ultimate choice is always to threaten that which challenges their delusion of power. Just like you....
the dog in the video was not so great and loving... and it did not look like it was trained to fight either.. it just automatically bit the other dog nasty... now ask yourself why he did it... according to Ceasar dude is because the other dog got close to the chick and was basically jealous or whatever.. imagine if a little baby gets close to her mom in the same way, whats gonna happen now? these dogs should not be around children and people who cannot take care of them..
@torzidotwisted guess what i thought about it and... YOUR STILL A FUCKING IDIOT! Yes lets see how that one pitbull out of those 20 pittbuls he has that are great loving dogs and lets generalize all pitbulls from just one! Your obviously probably prejudice as well because only someone who is so ignorant would take one animal or persons action and think oooo there all like that! When anyone who has half a brain knows that those bad ones are such a small proportion of pitbulls so STFU.
@torzidotwisted its becaouse in a dogs mind they need a leader, if u look at wolf packs, fights brake out and the alph stops them the human were unable to correct the dogs behavior in the right way with out fear, top dogs dont show fear when disaplinning the pack, any dog can be aggessive and bite , to ppl who don;t know what to look for it seems out of the blue and they just have a mean dog. look up some dog behaviors mabe then u can learn the truth about pit bulls and not lieing media crap
This is not a racial issue and Cesar Millan has a greater understanding of the projected energy problem. Pitbulls do have an aggressive instinct...in that way you are right...but in the right hands it can be deflected and used purposefully in the same way that one taps the explosive energy of a racehorse and converts it to purpose. But possession should only go to people who have had proper training. But in the wrong hands...yes...attack is a great possibility.
true.. i guess i meant rich folks... since the higher social economical class is generally attributed to the white race i guess i generalized in that sense.. but bottom line these dogs are a potential threat.. like what happend to that trainer at sea world this last weekend... i know killer whales are nothing compared to the pits but still the danger is always present when being around this breed of dogs...
Yes...you're right they are. You can have a dog like this who can be very affectionate, but, he has a tension sense that's like an antenna that picks up tension in other critters, people etc. It can be applied as a protective measure or it can set him off with even those he has affection for. In the case of the killer whale, he's called "killer whale" because he's not a baleen whale but, he's a toothed meat eater. He is, however, not a critter to be held in a tank for amusement.
Being held like that can seriously raise the frustration level and cause just what happened to that trainer. Killer whales hunt for fish and seals and they are much better off in the ocean with little contact with man beyond passing boats. Living in a tank is a type of cruelty that can precipitate such problems. And a killer whale is really a large dolphin, so the intelligence and awareness will be similar.
As for the "white race" comment, I know that in the media and in so many other places, the other race, whoever it is, is always the less, but, the truth is that all of that is a game placed in competition defining "winners and losers". We've all been cultured to such thinking and it's wrong. The best way to win that game is to NOT engage it and around the world the non engagement is beginning to become more normal.
Dude, just stop, like seriously. :/ You're just gonna get more people hatin' on you. You know a little over half of the viewers for this vid are probably dog lovers. Small percentage probably love pit bulls. I read your comments and their comments already. Just leave it alone.
that girl needs to get herself a Chihuahua or something, that dog is to much, pitbulls are very energetic, powerful and territorial dogs...there's no way she could handle that dog, if anything she gonna get killed by that dog......LOL!
to just sum up all this arguments about pits...IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE TRAINER....we have one and we started discipline it ever since it was born its been a wonderful dog we can take it her and where
I love my two pits. They're the best dogs I've ever owned, and far less agressive than my toy poodle mix. Unfortunately, what makes them so great (their intelligence, their energy and their athletic builds) also makes them potentially VERY dangerous. This breed has to be taught proper behavior very early. Irresponsible, or just plain ignorant owners have completely ruined the reputation of a beautiful breed of dog, and made them feared by the general public.
3 breeds top the Most Likely to Chomp list: German shepherds, rottweilers, and pit bulls. A 1993 Toronto study found pit bulls accounted for 1% of licensed dogs but 4% of bites. A 2000 study by the Centers for Disease Control looking at 20 years of data on fatal dog attacks in the U.S. Of 238 such incidents in which the breed of the attacking dog was reported, pit bull-type dogs were involved in 32%, versus 18% for rottweilers and rottweiler mixes and 11% for German shepherds and mixes.
@nEWwORLDhOARDER I'm a vet student, I know the proper statistics. My point was, potentially dangerous breeds should only be owned by responsible, qualified owners.
And octomom SHOULDN'T have any more children but it's a free country. ALL dogs are domesticated wolves and are potentially dangerous and there's no way to legislate responsibility or qualification to own a dog. People don't even need a license to make a freakin' baby.
I agree with you all the way, ErisFae. Lahsa Apsos are really cute dogs, but their temperaments generally leave a lot to be desired. I've seen mostly really friendly and patient ones, but those came from a really good breeder. He was able to take feral dogs and make them in to house pets ...
Anyway, if I got a dawg, it would have to be a Lhasa. ^_^ I love them to pieces. ^_^
Lhasa Apso was bred as an interior sentinel in the Buddhist monasteries. My co-worker was bit by her friend's Lhasa Apso. The dog also bit it's owner. If you get one be sure to call your insurance man and get an umbrella policy to go with it.
In America 3-4 million euthanized cats and dogs end up in land fills. That's a lot of meat that goes to waste. Why not BBQ Fido on the grill and serve him up with a fresh garden salad and some beer? That seems like the socially responsible thing to do.
I know someone who had to get 16 stitches in her arm because her pitbull attacked and she still has the dog! I don't know why people refuse to believe that pitbulls are just like any other dog. They aren't.
You've obviously never so much as hung around a pitbull. What would you know? I don't know why morons like you eat the shit their fed and believe that all pits are vicious. Idiot.
My grandfather had his hand ripped open by his golden retriever but he kept it. So what?
Lol, it's the internet.. I'm not worked up, but you seem to be. I'll call you whatever I want to though because I know that you don't know shit about this sort of thing and if you wanna get touchy about it be my guest. It doesn't make any difference to me.
just to point out, tabanorama may very wel be telling the truth about the golden retriever because in general, pit bulls actually score higher on temperament tests.
and according to statistics, golden retriever bites are much higher on the list than pit bull bites, which are actually on the lower side of the list.
Thank you for replying to me without being disrespectful like the last person. Thank you for showing me valid information and keeping it classy! I hate the testy morons on youtube.
people are so quick to jump to being insulting on the internet but only because you know that in person they would never talk that way.
this is a tough subject. because even the fact that pits score better than Many other favored dogs on temperament tests and such, the real issue is that when they Do bite, it is usually more damaging than other dog bites. the fact that they are generally bred to fight, combined with bad owners, makes for bad reputations.
GuppyPal I totally disagree with you.Pit bulls are no different than any other dog.You don't put a child down just because they beat the crap out of one another, you work with them til they change their behavior, same with dogs.
I'm not talking about pit bulls in general, I'm talking about that dog specifically. Just like violent people are put in jail or executed, animals are too. You'd probably try to save a dog like that if it killed little kids. And actually, statistically, pit bulls ARE different than other dogs as they (along with Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes) account for roughly 3/4 of all dog attacks. Pit bulls alone accounted for 1/3 of all fatal human attacks from '81-92. Dumbass?
GuppyPal,I believe that a dog takes a human life that dog needs to be put down, same goes for a person who kills another person.Labs are even one of the breeds that cause dog bites to children and yet you don't hear people saying they need to be put down.
@CesarMillanFan5183 The reason people are so against the pitbull is that they have been bred to fight, so while they may cause the same amount of bites as other dogs like labs, they are so strong and instinctive that a bite from a pitbull causes much more damage than a bite from another dog. Theyre also aggressive (instinctively thriough selective breeding) so theres usually not just one bite. People dont want the aggression shown between pitbulls in this video to be turned people or children
Bingo! And if such a dog is with people who have "issues", the likelyhood of a problem is heightened. These dogs should only be with QUALIFIED handlers like Cesar Millan or not in possession at all.
I'm not disagreeing with that, their just doing what the owner wants. They are only trying to please him. But I'm sure you can get any other breed of dog to fight other dogs.
I have great respect for Cesar Millan, but, pit bull is not a dog I would EVER want to have. Too many ways for other critters and people to end up hurt or dead. No point to a breed like that. It seems to me that one should have to take classes or required training to have a dog as dangerous as that.
Another ignorant statement. Any breed of dog can hurt people or critters. Its all about how they dogs are raised. I have a pitbull and my cats have him whipped. He would never hurt a fly.
people like YOU should be required to take a class before owning a dog, not the dog.
Dbizzle17 I agree with you,It's a shame how people would rather throw a dog away just because it's aggressive. The behavior can be fixed, even though it does take time.
Obviously you know nothing about breeding for characteristics. PItbulls are bred for FIGHTING and so they have a sensitive trigger mechanism. Any kind of tension can send them into attack mode as was seen with Trinity. It's as common as it is in breeding a racehorse for speed and aggression. The characteristics pass from generation to generation. If one doesn't have the correct training, they should NOT have such a dog.
are you fucking retarded? Saying pitbulls are bred for just "fighting" is so retarded i dont even know what to say.
pitbulls are DOGS, DOGS that learn what to do and not to do. if you let these "characteristics" get out of control, with any dog they will become dangerous. Dont go around spouting your ignorant statements like they should be only kept by qualified handlers, when i've had 5 pits growing up and not one of them would be remotely considered aggressive.
There's no single answer -- both sides are right. Pitbulls are predisposed to fighting because they have been bred for aggressiveness. However, there are many gentle pitbulls out there that have been taught (with a good bit of effort) how to behave properly. It just so happens that more often than not, pit bulls are reared by stupid owners who just think they're cool. When left to their own devices, a pit bull will probably lean more towards aggressiveness than being docile.
Ignorance is ignoring pedigree. And people who resort to the foulmouth usually do so because they are low level and know that they stand on shaky ground. It won't help you. Many states and muncipalities are well aware of the danger and have put this breed in a restricted class of it's own. They are outlawed in some places like Dade County in Florida and uninsuralble through property owners in other places. In Detroit, if confiscated... they're euthanized.
@Dbizzle17 They are too bred for fighting you stupid ass! "Pit" bulls are pred for fighting, English pointers- Bred for Pointing birds, Labrador retriever- retrieving in cold weather and water.
Do you fucking get it? Pit bulls come equipped with strong ass jaws and an anger trigger that can be dangerous. Not saying they can't be nice, but are more likely to injure or even kill other animals and even humans.
@ancestralblue Well said, They are bred for fighting and have some of the strongest jaws and highest pain thresholds of any dog. And yes you are right, they do have a very sensitive trigger mechanism. My buddy had a "friendly" pitbull, I could pet that thing and it was calm as could be. I even had him play around with my german shorthaired pointer and they got along fine. But one day it attacked my buddy and tore him up pretty badly. Just out of the blue.
@ancestralblue I agree with the breeding part, but if I saw a dog in need of an owner, no matter what breed, and had the means to support it, I would. It all depends on the owner. My dad has a pitbull, my dad is a pretty relaxed guy and so is the pitbull - I even bring my miniature pug over to play with him. Even still my pug was protective of me, and bit the pitbull on the nose! Imagine that - the pitbull's head is about the size of my dog's entire body.
You have a good heart and people like you will generally go "to the limit" to do the right thing, the right way. Only those with that kind of commitment should have such a dog.
I completly agree with Dbizzle17 ignorance seems to be damning such a great breed of dog.
I own a pit bull, and have spent hours researching about the history of the breed. notice the crew had their hands right at the faces of the two fighting dogs and they didn't get bit. It is because pit bulls instinctively are not aggressive towards humans.
Please do serious research before making public comments about specific breeds of dogs.
Well... and here we have, not necessarily your comment, but, a slew of them, a compliment of people who have become defensive without really comprehending what was said. I said that people who were going to have this breed, should have the TRAINING to handle the dog. But , what I've often seen is that people who pick the "BULLY BREEDS" have issues of defensiveness of their own and they are projecting through the dog.
Certainly not all of them, but enough to make their choices questionable.
A push over is a no body to a dog! I agree! I breed pitbulls, they are great dogs when you let them know they need you and you are stronger than them.
not to be mean,....but i will ocasionally have to put my bitch in her place its just the way a pack works. and her being a strong bully breed she needs a little more hands on teaching.....
I know what you mean. All our dogs had a habit of biting and jumping on people, we had to 'discipline' them to show them that they were hurting people until they eventually stopped.
yes, im just a far cruder person. i supose my wording was harsh but i find it to be realistic. most people are babied about everything. they need to be shocked just like the dog , to make them realize its serious!!
Well, the one thing about my dog was that we could scold him and chase him, and even hit him, but the next instant we could baby talk him and completely make him love you again and learn a lesson.
I have been put behind a chain link fence by this breed when I was no where near the dogs yard and in open space walking and minding my own business. I keep wondering time and time again. Why is it worth so much to make sure aggressive dog breeds are re-trained and all this energy put into them.
ErisFae 2 years ago 5
Each day, over 1000 U.S. citizens require emergency treatment for dog bite injuries.
nEWwORLDhOARDER 2 years ago
and the ratio of those bites being pit bull bites are actually very low.
In fact Pit Bulls score higher on temperament tests than even the beloved family dog the Golden Retriever (search: American Temperament Test Society)
TigreCorazon 2 years ago
3 breeds top the Most Likely to Chomp list: German shepherds, rottweilers, and pit bulls. A 1993 Toronto study found pit bulls accounted for 1% of licensed dogs but 4% of bites. A 2000 study by the Centers for Disease Control looking at 20 years of data on fatal dog attacks in the U.S. Of 238 such incidents in which the breed of the attacking dog was reported, pit bull-type dogs were involved in 32%, versus 18% for rottweilers and rottweiler mixes and 11% for German shepherds and mixes.
nEWwORLDhOARDER 2 years ago
@nEWwORLDhOARDER I'm a vet student, I know the proper statistics. My point was, potentially dangerous breeds should only be owned by responsible, qualified owners.
ErisFae 2 years ago
And octomom SHOULDN'T have any more children but it's a free country. ALL dogs are domesticated wolves and are potentially dangerous and there's no way to legislate responsibility or qualification to own a dog. People don't even need a license to make a freakin' baby.
nEWwORLDhOARDER 2 years ago
I agree with you all the way, ErisFae. Lahsa Apsos are really cute dogs, but their temperaments generally leave a lot to be desired. I've seen mostly really friendly and patient ones, but those came from a really good breeder. He was able to take feral dogs and make them in to house pets ...
Anyway, if I got a dawg, it would have to be a Lhasa. ^_^ I love them to pieces. ^_^
LeksServices 2 years ago
Lhasa Apso was bred as an interior sentinel in the Buddhist monasteries. My co-worker was bit by her friend's Lhasa Apso. The dog also bit it's owner. If you get one be sure to call your insurance man and get an umbrella policy to go with it.

just to point out, tabanorama may very wel be telling the truth about the golden retriever because in general, pit bulls actually score higher on temperament tests.
and according to statistics, golden retriever bites are much higher on the list than pit bull bites, which are actually on the lower side of the list.
just sayin/.

NYCindustries 2 years ago 2
I know,
people are so quick to jump to being insulting on the internet but only because you know that in person they would never talk that way.
this is a tough subject. because even the fact that pits score better than Many other favored dogs on temperament tests and such, the real issue is that when they Do bite, it is usually more damaging than other dog bites. the fact that they are generally bred to fight, combined with bad owners, makes for bad reputations.

I could tell way before that happened those dogs were going to fight. You could tell especially when they were still and standing next to each other.
I'd put the dog to sleep though. You can't have dogs like that around people.
GuppyPal 2 years ago
GuppyPal I totally disagree with you.Pit bulls are no different than any other dog.You don't put a child down just because they beat the crap out of one another, you work with them til they change their behavior, same with dogs.
CesarMillanFan5183 2 years ago 2
I'm not talking about pit bulls in general, I'm talking about that dog specifically. Just like violent people are put in jail or executed, animals are too. You'd probably try to save a dog like that if it killed little kids. And actually, statistically, pit bulls ARE different than other dogs as they (along with Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes) account for roughly 3/4 of all dog attacks. Pit bulls alone accounted for 1/3 of all fatal human attacks from '81-92. Dumbass?
GuppyPal 2 years ago 3
GuppyPal,I believe that a dog takes a human life that dog needs to be put down, same goes for a person who kills another person.Labs are even one of the breeds that cause dog bites to children and yet you don't hear people saying they need to be put down.
CesarMillanFan5183 2 years ago 5
@CesarMillanFan5183 The reason people are so against the pitbull is that they have been bred to fight, so while they may cause the same amount of bites as other dogs like labs, they are so strong and instinctive that a bite from a pitbull causes much more damage than a bite from another dog. Theyre also aggressive (instinctively thriough selective breeding) so theres usually not just one bite. People dont want the aggression shown between pitbulls in this video to be turned people or children
Thag20 2 years ago 3
Bingo! And if such a dog is with people who have "issues", the likelyhood of a problem is heightened. These dogs should only be with QUALIFIED handlers like Cesar Millan or not in possession at all.
ancestralblue 2 years ago 3
I'm not disagreeing with that, their just doing what the owner wants. They are only trying to please him. But I'm sure you can get any other breed of dog to fight other dogs.
CesarMillanFan5183 2 years ago
I have great respect for Cesar Millan, but, pit bull is not a dog I would EVER want to have. Too many ways for other critters and people to end up hurt or dead. No point to a breed like that. It seems to me that one should have to take classes or required training to have a dog as dangerous as that.
ancestralblue 2 years ago 2
bullshit. I have a pitbull and its the sweetest thing ever.
VirtRampage 2 years ago
Another ignorant statement. Any breed of dog can hurt people or critters. Its all about how they dogs are raised. I have a pitbull and my cats have him whipped. He would never hurt a fly.
people like YOU should be required to take a class before owning a dog, not the dog.
Dbizzle17 2 years ago 4
Dbizzle17 I agree with you,It's a shame how people would rather throw a dog away just because it's aggressive. The behavior can be fixed, even though it does take time.
CesarMillanFan5183 2 years ago
Obviously you know nothing about breeding for characteristics. PItbulls are bred for FIGHTING and so they have a sensitive trigger mechanism. Any kind of tension can send them into attack mode as was seen with Trinity. It's as common as it is in breeding a racehorse for speed and aggression. The characteristics pass from generation to generation. If one doesn't have the correct training, they should NOT have such a dog.
ancestralblue 2 years ago
are you fucking retarded? Saying pitbulls are bred for just "fighting" is so retarded i dont even know what to say.
pitbulls are DOGS, DOGS that learn what to do and not to do. if you let these "characteristics" get out of control, with any dog they will become dangerous. Dont go around spouting your ignorant statements like they should be only kept by qualified handlers, when i've had 5 pits growing up and not one of them would be remotely considered aggressive.
Ignorant people i swear.
Dbizzle17 2 years ago
There's no single answer -- both sides are right. Pitbulls are predisposed to fighting because they have been bred for aggressiveness. However, there are many gentle pitbulls out there that have been taught (with a good bit of effort) how to behave properly. It just so happens that more often than not, pit bulls are reared by stupid owners who just think they're cool. When left to their own devices, a pit bull will probably lean more towards aggressiveness than being docile.

SlaughterWings 2 years ago
exactly. i know this has nothing to do with anything but the same is a lil bit with snakes and a couple other reptiles. know what i mean?
reapersfriend44 2 years ago
Ignorance is ignoring pedigree. And people who resort to the foulmouth usually do so because they are low level and know that they stand on shaky ground. It won't help you. Many states and muncipalities are well aware of the danger and have put this breed in a restricted class of it's own. They are outlawed in some places like Dade County in Florida and uninsuralble through property owners in other places. In Detroit, if confiscated... they're euthanized.
ancestralblue 2 years ago
As I said before, they should only be with qualified or trained people.
ancestralblue 2 years ago
@Dbizzle17 They are too bred for fighting you stupid ass! "Pit" bulls are pred for fighting, English pointers- Bred for Pointing birds, Labrador retriever- retrieving in cold weather and water.
Do you fucking get it? Pit bulls come equipped with strong ass jaws and an anger trigger that can be dangerous. Not saying they can't be nice, but are more likely to injure or even kill other animals and even humans.
Kekermonger 2 years ago
@ancestralblue Well said, They are bred for fighting and have some of the strongest jaws and highest pain thresholds of any dog. And yes you are right, they do have a very sensitive trigger mechanism. My buddy had a "friendly" pitbull, I could pet that thing and it was calm as could be. I even had him play around with my german shorthaired pointer and they got along fine. But one day it attacked my buddy and tore him up pretty badly. Just out of the blue.
Kekermonger 2 years ago 2
@ancestralblue I agree with the breeding part, but if I saw a dog in need of an owner, no matter what breed, and had the means to support it, I would. It all depends on the owner. My dad has a pitbull, my dad is a pretty relaxed guy and so is the pitbull - I even bring my miniature pug over to play with him. Even still my pug was protective of me, and bit the pitbull on the nose! Imagine that - the pitbull's head is about the size of my dog's entire body.
MachoLibRey 2 years ago
You have a good heart and people like you will generally go "to the limit" to do the right thing, the right way. Only those with that kind of commitment should have such a dog.
ancestralblue 2 years ago 2
I completly agree with Dbizzle17 ignorance seems to be damning such a great breed of dog.
I own a pit bull, and have spent hours researching about the history of the breed. notice the crew had their hands right at the faces of the two fighting dogs and they didn't get bit. It is because pit bulls instinctively are not aggressive towards humans.
Please do serious research before making public comments about specific breeds of dogs.
bmxbob 2 years ago 3
Well... and here we have, not necessarily your comment, but, a slew of them, a compliment of people who have become defensive without really comprehending what was said. I said that people who were going to have this breed, should have the TRAINING to handle the dog. But , what I've often seen is that people who pick the "BULLY BREEDS" have issues of defensiveness of their own and they are projecting through the dog.
Certainly not all of them, but enough to make their choices questionable.

Too bad that most of them don't do the research as you did.
