I'm glad to see this is possible the way I initially tried it (and ultimately gave up with this way). I have no qualms admitting I hit the pumpkins as soon as he let go of it and I found it _much_ easier. Just a tip for anyone who's struggling and doesn't mind a little bit of cheating. :p
