It's raw, straight forward and honest. Raein, Phasma Phasmatis, Funeral Diner, Portrait, The Kodan Armada, Mainspring, Indian Summer, Cap'n Jazz, and Moss Icon, are a few good bands to check out to really get the idea of Emo/Screamo. It's diverse in it's sounds, emotions and in it's forms of delivery

I mean, I think the only comparison would be that they both are sincere in their expression. They may not be delivered the same way, but they are both very honest genres. Black Metal is more focused towards reflective soundscapes that express feeling and emotion, as Emo/Screamo is more of of an organized chaos of emotions and feelings, delivered in whatever direction they may flow. They're both serious and emotional, but whole different ball-games.

@RenzXVI I would add Xasthur to this list, but I'd also dare to add Leviathan and also Shining. Kvarforth has some extremely depressing music. I'd also add Roman Saenko's other band, Blood Of Kingu. The riffs are really dissonant and depressive, but wonderfully melodic.
