Yeah. I was looking up egg preservative, yesterday. Before modern refrigeration they used to use stuff called "waterglass". I once pickled some eggs. Just hard-boiled and peeled 'em and put them in a sterile jar with hot vinegar & spices poured over 'em. Then I just left them to steep in the frig for a month. They were really delish and tasted just like the ones they sell in delicatessens.

You can get special "egg preserver" to make eggs last longer, but I've read that rubbing vaseline all over them works just as well. Nice vid.

I think the eggs actually have a kind of film on them that preserves them for a while. In the frig it takes them a long long time to go bad.
