If life started in the sea and moved to the land, then why are their creatures still left in the sea ? If evolution is for the benefit of creatures then why would only some of them change to land animals ? Only some of them had intelligence ? @adelaide102 - Not all living things will do the same thing to survive. When all creatures were in the ocean, the land was just sitting there. It was a vast place for creatures to inhabit. However if everything went on land the land would have been overcrowded and the sea would just be sitting there with nothing in it. Evolution says that if something is suited to it's environment , it will thrive there.. The sea will never be empty as long as it can sustain life , something will live in it.
If we all came from a single cell floating in the sea, that cell must have had had a lot of intelligence and brain power to change eventually to a land animal with legs and lungs to breathe air. Why would a simple sea creature want to move onto the land. Only if it had intelligent thought, as growing legs in the sea would not have any purpose for its own environment in the sea. There is no logic in a sea creature changing to a land animal unless it had a thought process to do so.

WIthout legs first it would not survive on land. As legs have no use in the sea, it would of had to have a lot of intelligence firstly to decide that it wanted to go and live on the land, and secondly the ability to grow legs which are of no use in the sea. That is asking a lot of a fish ?

The better you know and understand the Bible, the less it will make sense, the less consistent it will seem. In fact, there are numerous examples of seminary students who left Christianity while in seminary because they understood the Bible better than ever (as they learnt a lot of facts they weren't told in Sunday school).

By the way I'm agnostic, not atheist. So if there is a god, I think he'll be glad to know I'm using the gift of reason he gave me instead of clinging desperately to the literal interpretation of a book that gives a different physical history of everything we're discovering about the world he created.
@eliridesfast For what it's worth ... if science ever shows objective, repeatable, testable evidence of a soul, God, or anything else, I'll be more than happy to convert. Up to (and including) now, no one has found proof of an immortal soul; all we have are stories and myth based on an understandable fear of oblivion after death.

@OutOfTheBox Human beings share 90% of their DNA with a banana, does not prove anything. Accepting Evolution as a fact does not make it a fact. Even Darwin had his doubts. Intelligent design theory suggests that the complexity of human cells could not have happened by accident or evolution, it had to be designed like that to start with. Now that is a theory like the theory of evolution, so why is one a fact and not the other.

We know so much about DNA today we can tell exactly how each species is related to other species and where different species branched into other species. We even know for a fact that two ape chromosome pairs have melded to become a single human chromosome pairs. Now take that movement away and times that by 6billion years and the moon would be so close to the Earth that no life would have started because of the constant tidal waves and other extreme effects of the moon's gravity. That is a theory like the weakening of the Earth's magnetic field which going back billions of years would mean again no life possible on Earth. These can be facts too.

For all we know, this could have been caused by a meteorite impact just a few thousand years ago. Also if you ever found a fossil that is half one species and half another species , it would DIS - prove evolution. Not prove it. Evolution says that species evolve slowly over a long period of time.

Fossil evidence does show species changing from one thing to another, over time. With humans , there many species that are neither ape nor human. They show ape features and human features. The early ones show more ape features and the later ones show more human features.
@adelaide102 -To keep it simple we say that modern apes and humans have a common ancestor. Humans didn't come from modern apes. However that doesn't completely answer the question. From my understanding from what I have read , humans came from apelike creatures that don't exist anymore. They evolved into us. The ancestors of modern apes were something way more primitive then. They still shared a common ancestor with us but back then they were way more primitive (contd).
@TheEarthFirst I still don't understand why a sea creature could adapt itself to living on the land. Why would it develope the capabilities to live on land if it was surviving in the sea, unless it had intelligence to do so. A sea creature would need the ability to move about on the land, and develope that capability before leaving the sea. Why have dolphins who have a degree of intelligence not developed the capablility to survive on land, if other more simple creatures did many years ago.
@adelaide102 - Intellegence isn't the only thing that moves something to progress. There are fish right now that can survive on land but they live in water. There may be other things about Dolphins that wouldn't suit them to land. A less intellegent fish may have had the body for it.

During a flood one would expect mussels to be on the lower layers and more intelligent animals on top (because they would be swim to the surface in an attempt to survive). If life started in the sea and moved to the land, then why are their creatures still left in the sea ? If evolution is for the benefit of creatures then why would only some of them change to land animals ? Only some of them had intelligence ? If evolution was true then the sea would be empty of animals. Evolution for some creatures only is a big hole in the theory. Every living thing was made independantly of another, created. @adelaide102 - Not all living things will do the same thing to survive. When all creatures were in the ocean, the land was just sitting there. It was a vast place for creatures to inhabit. However if everything went on land the land would have been overcrowded and the sea would just be sitting there with nothing in it. Evolution says that if something is suited to it's environment , it will thrive there.. The sea will never be empty as long as it can sustain life , something will live in it.

If we all came from a single cell floating in the sea, that cell must have had had a lot of intelligence and brain power to change eventually to a land animal with legs and lungs to breathe air. Why would a simple sea creature want to move onto the land. Only if it had intelligent thought, as growing legs in the sea would not have any purpose for its own environment in the sea. There is no logic in a sea creature changing to a land animal unless it had a thought process to do so.

This process took time. I didn't happen over night. The fossil record supports , since small organisms are found at the bottom of strata, and more advanced life is found over it.Intelligence isn't necessary for progress in nature.

If life started in the sea, and moved to the land, the first creature to walk on land would have to have legs to move about and survive ? It would have to grow legs first before it left the sea. WIthout legs first it would not survive on land. As legs have no use in the sea, it would of had to have a lot of intelligence firstly to decide that it wanted to go and live on the land, and secondly the ability to grow legs which are of no use in the sea. That is asking a lot of a fish ?

The better you know and understand the Bible, the less it will make sense, the less consistent it will seem. In fact, there are numerous examples of seminary students who left Christianity while in seminary because they understood the Bible better than ever (as they learnt a lot of facts they weren't told in Sunday school).

@OutOfTheBox Human beings share 90% of their DNA with a banana, does not prove anything. Accepting Evolution as a fact does not make it a fact. Even Darwin had his doubts. Intelligent design theory suggests that the complexity of human cells could not have happened by accident or evolution, it had to be designed like that to start with. Now that is a theory like the theory of evolution, so why is one a fact and not the other.

We know so much about DNA today we can tell exactly how each species is related to other species and where different species branched into other species. We even know for a fact that two ape chromosome pairs have melded to become a single human chromosome pairs. "Intelligent design" is based on the denial or ignorance of scientific facts and is not a science by any means, whereas evolution is based on proven facts.

Now take that movement away and times that by 6billion years and the moon would be so close to the Earth that no life would have started because of the constant tidal waves and other extreme effects of the moon's gravity. That is a theory like the weakening of the Earth's magnetic field which going back billions of years would mean again no life possible on Earth. These can be facts too.

For all we know, this could have been caused by a meteorite impact just a few thousand years ago. @adelaide102 - I realize this is an old comment but I still wanted to respond. You asked why are there still apes if we evolved from apes? We didn't evolve from apes but we evolved from a common ancestor with apes. Apes evolved just humans did, but from a different branch of the same ancestor.
Also if you ever found a fossil that is half one species and half another species , it would DIS - prove evolution. Not prove it. Evolution says that species evolve slowly over a long period of time.

Fossil evidence does show species changing from one thing to another, over time. With humans , there many species that are neither ape nor human. They show ape features and human features. The early ones show more ape features and the later ones show more human features.

From my understanding from what I have read , humans came from apelike creatures that don't exist anymore. They evolved into us. The ancestors of modern apes were something way more primitive then. They still shared a common ancestor with us but back then they were way more primitive (contd).

Why would it develope the capabilities to live on land if it was surviving in the sea, unless it had intelligence to do so. A sea creature would need the ability to move about on the land, and develope that capability before leaving the sea. Why have dolphins who have a degree of intelligence not developed the capablility to survive on land, if other more simple creatures did many years ago.

@kjmoon21 Between 1929 and 1937, 15 partial craniums, 11 lower jaws, many teeth, some skeletal bones and large numbers of stone tools were discovered in the Lower Cave at Locality 1 of the Peking Man site at Zhoukoudian, near Beijing, in China. Their age is estimated to be between 500,000 and 300,000 years old.

@gregrutz That was in response to where you could see a "giant" fossil. Not really human though but of the homo genus. Now I was aware that homo erectus overlapped with neanderthals, but I wasn't aware that they coexisted for so long. Don't confuse me for one of the bible thumpers here, I was making a joke about finding "giant" hominids in a museum haha

@gregrutz You would probably do well do to get in touch with the archaeologist who sat down with Project Camelot, to ask where you can see bones of giant races (that's right...just like The Bible says...search..Project Camelot Interviews Klaus Dona, Spiritual Archaeologist . The full skeletal ones you see on Youtube were all PhotoShopped by collegiate hopefuls wanting to place well in a contest with that theme, but there were individual giant bones (REALLY BIG) found worldwide over the years.

@gregrutz ..Me too! Many people here in Chicago will remember the giant skeleton at the Museum of Natural History, 1940. It vanished just after a few days. There are plenty of researchers who can name the sites where they were discovered, Jonathan Gray for starters.
If you can get into the Smithsonian's vaults, then I'm sure you can find some shit that will make giant humans seem...not too big of a deal in comparison.
