  • dont forget about the McDonalds commercials inbetween the shows!

  • God I hate the term "Afican American" Dave Mathews is an "African American" I am "Black" American. We don't even understand our own Identity, how can we expect the media to portray the true Black American when we aren't sure who we are?

  • really true, but what can we do about it? that is the question.

  • supply and demand. demand.

  • how?

  • I completely agree with all of what was said here, especially the part about the media and the entertainment industry using black sterotypes over true reality. I dont watch reality tv b/c it really pissed me off that Americans, not just Blacks, buy into. Even my family is hooked! I believe that Americans in general should demand better quality shows, instead of the brainwashing crap that they decide is "quality" and put on tv. B/c we all know they are just doing this to control the public...

  • Isn't sad that my primetime show with my family was "Flavor of Love" and "I love New York"? We would all gather around together and bond by watch ignorance and poor morality personified on the TV screen. Gone are the days black families watching "Family Matters" or "The Cosby Show" together. As black people, we need to change they type of shows we value or support.

  • BET has really promoted a negative image of black people. Down with BET! Vh1 doesn't help, but they don't discriminate against who they show in a bad light. Remember, they have Flavor of Love and I Love New York, but they also have Rock of Love and A Shot at Love wih Tila Tequila. Vh1's motto: Let's make everybody look like a damn fool!

  • Ummm I love me some Real Housewives of Atlanta :)

And I actually didn't hear about Tiny & Toya until right before I watched your vid (my little brother was watching it and it made me sad). I think it's funny that networks don't seem to understand that they are the ruling power of American culture and what they put on tv effects what people, especially African Americans, evolve into... or maybe they do know... and that's how they maintain control??? Someone should tell them about themselves...
